Adobe Fonts for Indesign Server
We have the fact that it is important for us that we have the same possibilities for processing with the Indesign Server as with the desktop. For this, it is essential that we can also retrieve and thus process the Adobe fonts via the Indesign server.
In the context of the shortage of skilled workers and the move towards automation, such processing is essential for us. The license for the fonts is already paid via the users who do the design and also via the server license, which is considerably more expensive than that of a desktop station.5 votes -
Export Share for Review Comments
Our Engineering department needs to be able to track the comments made on documents which are shared for review as part of their audit procedure.
It would be great if after the document has been shared for review and the Engineering team provide their feedback, they could then export the pdf along with all of the comments.

Please make it possible to reorder the parent pages.
Simply have a option to drag and drop the parent pages. I think this used to be easy when they were master pages , or maybe I just assumed this - but not now.

Make the CC Library popup notes legible
Using CC Libraries in InDesign 2022, 2023+ has been very helpful. However, I find that the notes added to the object are illegible. Doesn't matter what color I make the interface or which monitor or monitor resolution I set, when I hoover my mouse over the library object the pop out note text is a light grey on a grey background and difficult to read.
Can we had some user level adjustment so those library items can be zoomed or to change them so the text is black with a white background while we are hovering over them?
Thank you.

Let hyperlinks open in a new tab.
I was trying to work out how to set InDesign hyperlinks to open a new tab in a browser. I have learned this is not a feature that is in InDesign.

Replacement of ending Type 1 fonts
I would like to ask if it would be possible to create a setting / tool for automatic replacement of ending fonts when opening a file.
"Font 1" will automatically change to the user-preset "Font 2" when opening the file.
eg: Frutiger CE 65 Bold (ending font) => Frutiger CE Bold (user set)
It would certainly make the job easier for users, for example we have over 1000 .indd files with ending fonts, which are gradually updated regularly and everything is replaced manually. One file has over 12 missing fonts.
Thank you for your response

Integrate Adobe Express/Canva-like features into Indesign
So Adobe Indesign has some BASIC animations and I feel this is a completely missed opportunity on Adobe's behalf. Apps like Canva have been spreading like wildfire for years and while Adobe has released Express it is a poor cousin. The idea behind Express/Canva is to have an easy-to-create, templated video/animated solution for social media (which let's face it, is mostly video now), yet as a very heavy InDesign user I should be able to animate and export these animations while also taking advantage of the powerful mail merge (text, images, and it really needs to also have swatches), bulk relinking, dynamically updating files features that we all know and love within the adobe suite.
What I would love to see included in Indesign
1/ export of animation in mp4 and gif (including transparency) formats.
2/ Improved Animation (on a page and page transitions)
3/ Additionally, the use of MOGRTs or being able to make your own custom animations with placeholders would be amazing.
Why Adobe Express doesn't work
Creative Cloud Library files are not dynamic, which means having to upload every single element you want to use (for me that's around about 50 every month - same templated files, different theming).
These files are already on my computer and such a waste of time and resources to upload and replace each image when it's already on my computer. I may as well use Canva which has much more variety.
Also limited in animations
Why Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere doesn't work
- it lacks the ease to mailmerge multiple items so relinking is arduous
Why in5 doesn't work
- it's limited (gifs are created by screen recording in your browser so it cannot do transparent gifs)
- it's expensive and limited
I know a lot of people think that animation and InDesign are in the past, but if you look at businesses that have basically made a multimillion-dollar business out of that base premise I guarantee you will see they have a bright future together.

Add Javascript for creating interactive Documents
So I had the nice task of creating an interactive PDF document. It needed a bit more logic than Indesign had to offer, so I was forced to use Javascript.
Because Indesign can't add Javascript, the design file and the logic file were separated. I was forced to manually connect the two every time I needed to make a change in Indesign, adding nearly 40 hours to my workload and completely destroying my workflow.
Just being able to add the scripts to the elements would have saved so much time.

Nested bullet styles
Bullet lists should have nested styles similar to Numbered lists and let us choose which symbol to use for each bullet level.

ignore text boxes filled with placeholder text during spell check
If you fill a text box from the 'fill with placeholder text' function perhaps it could be highlighted a different colour or have a symbol on the edge which highlights this, and can be ignored during the spell check function. it's super frustrating to have to keep clicking ignore on lorem ipsum!

Allow full access to RTL & Asian language support in one edition of Creative Cloud!
Let us use the Middle Eastern & Chinese/Japanese paragraph composers in ONE unified version of Creative Cloud! We live in a multilingual world! I typeset RTL and Asian languages every day of the year and CAN'T keep switching from one version of InDesign to another just to unlock the features that are already there, just not always accessable?! It's so incredibly annoying and gives the impression that Adobe are a company that have a monolingual world view in a multilingual world!

Apply Paragraph Styles to a Table style by column
It would be really helpful if it was possible to design a table style that uses a particular paragraph style for each column.
For example, I currently build a catalog with multiple tables with either 3 or 4 columns. Column 1 is an item number that, column 2 is a product name, column 3 is the price, and column 4 is the price with discount in the case there's a promo. Each of those columns has a paragraph style defined (actually two, one with white text, one with black). I also already have a table style built based on if the table will be on a darker background, one if it'll be on a lighter background.
Currently, for a new table, or new rows to an old table, I need to use the table style to define the row shading, then I need to highlight each column and select the correct paragraph style, and then set the text box to either screen or multiply.
It would be cool if there was a dialogue box similar to the way the Table of Contents is set up, where there is a a place to assign a paragraph style to each column, and maybe to header or footer columns so that I can just select the dark or light Table Style, and it's all done. Possibly, just expand the "Left Column" and "Right Column" in the "Cell Styles" section of the "Table Style Options" dialogue to just select a numbered column instead of just being able to assign the first and last column.

Smart Text Reflow + Data Merge
When using Data Merge, if text is too long to fit on the standard 2-page Master page spread, then InDesign should automatically create additional pages (either by repeating the Master spread, or allowing Master spreads to consist of more than 2 pages) utilizing Smart Text Reflow to continue the text thread instead of oversetting the text.
My personal use case: I am working with a teacher at a university to create a literature magazine, and need to compile multiple long-form submissions into one document. Since up to 200 students could be submitting work, it is important that this can be completed automatically, as manual entry for that many submissions would take ages! This could really help folks creating collaborative publications.

Merge Features of Share for Review into Publish Online
Looking at all of the different feature request posted for "Share for Review" I feel it would almost be better to just merge the "Share for Review" features into the "Publish Online" since it already has many of the requested features like setting PDF quality, being able to select the number of pages, print as spreads, ect... The only thing it is missing is the ability to make it invite only and the commenting features. That way instead of two tools there is one. Maybe it has an option that when selected it adds the "Review Features" and if not selected it stays as a Publish Online document.

language
No new idea but having the ability to change the language of interface could make InDesign more usable. Please give us that ability without having to uninstall and reinstall the application to change the language.
