Embedded Graphic check in Preflight
It would be really handy if there was a possibility to check for embedded graphics using the Live Preflight.
Thank you!

Improve override & "mixed overrides" notice on paragraph styles: give useful info
If a paragraph has some override(s) in it that do not affect the entire paragraph, you'll see the little paragraph symbol at the bottom of the panel light up. This tells you there's an override. No + sign will appear next to the paragraph style name, though, unless the cursor happens to be in text that has the override. For example, if one word is in italics but your cursor is elsewhere in the paragraph, you don't have any way to know what the override is. If you select the entire paragraph, the + appears, but when you hover over the style name the little message that pops up ALWAYS says "mixed overrides," even if there is only one override. Only if the override applies to the whole paragraph will the message be informative.
I know I can turn on the blue override highlighting, but that's not always what I want to do as it's distracting and ugly, and sometimes I have lots of intentional, temporary overrides that would also be lit up.If a paragraph has some override(s) in it that do not affect the entire paragraph, you'll see the little paragraph symbol at the bottom of the panel light up. Ad the possibility to have Paragraph Style add a break before or after
In many cases, I want a break after or before a Paragraph with a certain style. e.g.: a chapter heading often needs a Page Break before.
How convenient would it be when this is integrated in a Paragraph Style!7 votes -
When will you bring back Mini Bridge?
We are all missing Mini Bridge, it was such a useful tool, we don't know why it was removed. Do the engineers not ask for feedback from graphic production teams about these tools before removing them?

List path of InDesign document used to publish
I can't tell you how many times I've done back to a published document, want to update, and can't figure out which document was used to publish it. Some record in the dashboard, even a static record, would be useful.

Full Featured Mail Merge
It would be so helpful to have a full-featured mailmerge like in Office. Specifically, being able to merge more than one unique record on a page. Postcards would be the best example.

Spellcheck only "real" copy.
Add an option in "Check Spelling" to tell it to "ignore automatically generated placeholder text". So that Spellcheck would flag only real copy. I often use both in my documents and it's hard to check a 40-pg document when it keeps stopping at several paragraphs of placeholder text.

Apply controlable gradients within table rows, coloums and cells.
Is it possible to have easily adjustable gradient fills in rows, coloums and cells within Indesign tables?

Selecting individual cells across rows & collums
Just like with Excel, it would be great to be able to select individual cells with something like holding the command/control key instead of only being able to select one cell or cells on the same row.

Section Colour Property
We would like something called section colour property. Whereby any paragraph / character style which can be used as a property in any paragraph or character style.
So, if you had a paragraph style call heading with the character set to section colour, the heading would be red in page section 1 and blue on page section 2.
Great for long documents. Thank you.

Drop down list of Styles in the Paragraph Style Options dialog box
The Paragraph Style Options dialog box should have a drop down list of Style names to enable access to other Style without having to go back

Make the 'next page' button in the bottom left have a drop down to toggle it between next page and next spread.
When scrolling through a document now, the view jumps between let and right. It might be less disorientating to switch quickly through the spreads than jumping left and right.

Rework overhead size to reduce pdf file size
Please fix the pdf file sizes created from overhead. For example, I think, this is created when a document has many tables (and cells) in it. I can create a text file, with zero pictures, no pixels, just vectors (the text), and the pdf proof (lowrez) size is huge! It should be about 800k, but it's at almost 10 megabytes! The only way around this is opening the pdf in acrobat and optimizing it to reduce it to the expected 800k size, which, sometimes, leads to text disapearing, but that's another issue.

Command to break frame into individual frames for each column
Invoking the command would create individual text frames for each of the columns so they can be manipulated individually.

Rename the open document from File menu
I would like to be able to rename the current document from the File menu in InDesign (and all other Adobe apps). Now I how to close the file and rename it in Explorer, or save it with the new name and delete the old document file.

Rounded Corners for Tables in InDesign
Dear Adobe Team,
As an InDesign user, I've encountered a limitation when designing tables in the software. Currently, there is no direct option to round the corners of tables, and this often leads to having to use workarounds to achieve the desired effect.
I kindly request that the ability to round table corners be added as a direct feature in future InDesign updates, similar to how it's already available for rectangular shapes. This would greatly enhance the user experience and make design workflows more seamless.
Thank you for your time and consideration,

Enable non-contiguous text selection (like in MS Word)
I work daily on customized graphic projects — brochures, flyers, posters, catalogs — where manual precision is essential. In these kinds of jobs, using styles and automation is often unnecessary or even counterproductive.
It’s quite limiting that InDesign does not allow non-contiguous text selection within the same text frame, a feature that has been available in software like Microsoft Word for years (Cmd+click on Mac / Ctrl+click on Windows).
Being able to select multiple non-adjacent portions of text and apply changes to them simultaneously (bold, size, color, etc.) would be a major improvement for those of us who work in a more artisanal way on short- to medium-length layouts with high visual detail.
Please consider adding this feature, at least as an optional setting, to better support the needs of many designers who don’t primarily work on long-form publishing like books or magazines.
Thank you!
