Object Export Options should have a short cut
Object Export Options should have a short cut available or one that you can set. Currently there is no way to do that and when you're doing accessible documents it's very difficult to do multiple images with different alt text.
Please make accessibility tools a priority for InDesign

Cross-reference window really too small
I have to cross-reference dozens and dozens (not to say hundreds and hundreds) of items according to their item number. Of course, they all have a paragraph style and can be found, but not easily: the dialog box for the cross-reference is way too small, displaying only 6 items at the time and we need to scroll and scroll and scroll. On top of that, the items do not appear in alphabetical (or in this case by increasing number) but just randomly. Hair loss guaranted and nerve breaking after an hour of work on the menu too. Would it be possible to get an window that we can expand so we can see at least 30, 40 or more items at once depending on the screen size.

Custom spaces between paragraphs 2.0
To get much more than »only« custom spaces - an extented idea:
I think to make it nearly perfect, we need to implement another Group inside the ParagraphStyles - say »Exceptions« and built like the nested styles area, for example:
No intend ------- after ParagraphStyle --- Head
No intend ------- after ParagraphStyle --- Subline
(etc.)
.
(for List 1)
Space before --- after ParagraphStyle --- List 1 --- 2mm
Space before --- after ParagraphStyle --- List 2 --- 2mm
.
(and for List 2 etc.)
Space before --- after ParagraphStyle --- List 1 --- 1mmWith something like this we would be able to set many »exceptions« inside by using only one named ParagraphStyle ...
This would solve the problem of "on" or "off" in one go. No rule = off.
Regards

Please increase the MAX page size to above 14400 pixels (20")
Pdf can support page sizes up to miles long or wide.... (although this is slightly absurd, but yes, MILES long!) but if you create a large page in InDesign you are met with a lovely error message when you come to export. Larger page sizes would be beneficial for lots of reasons, app prototyping, print, really long articles and pictures of Giraffes ;-)
Seriously though, please oh wise Adobe can you increase this limitation to a more reasonable number, Thank-you.

Please, please, please increase the overall stability of InDesign.
I’ve lost count of the number of times functionality has gone missing (ie: unable to proportionally scale using key commands and my mouse, sliding elements vertically or horizontally without changing either their “x” or “y” coordinate (respectively), etc.
I would suggest (and I am absolutely serious about this) that Adobe take 3 months off from issuing any updates to the product and have all your techs, engineers and coders work out as many functionality issues a possible to improve the stability of the product. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fabulous product (and you have no real competition except maybe Sketch?) so taking that time to improve what exists will not impact the bottom line. In fact, a more stable product can only IMPROVE the bottom line. Imagine if every so often your car wouldn’t start, or the headlights no longer worked, or it would wander all over the road even when you held the steering wheel perfectly still! You would be outraged and automobile manufacturers would either fix the problem ASAP, or go out of business. Do the right thing. Fix what is excellent (but flawed) tool. And the excuse that every user’s machine is different, and that you don’t know what other programs they are running or what conflicts or corruptions might be caused by those programs shouldn’t hold water after decades of development. And given the Creative Suite subscription prices users are paying, I think we are due some real improvements in stability.
For the record, I’m running a fairly new (since July of 2017) iMac, 27in machine, running High Sierra, v.10.31.1 and using the Adobe Creative Suite, 2018.
And have been using the Adobe products for years now, so don’t mean to sound like a crank. Simply want to make my day go a little bit smoother and be more efficient. Having a gazillion tools and features means nothing if even the most basic (and most often used) tool goes awry. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Please allow for more than 1 inch of Offset for Printer's Marks when exporting PDFs
Some vendors require more than 1" of bleed, especially on larger format layouts.
Currently have to build layouts at reduced size to accomplish this.8 votes -
Ruler guide color should be an inline feature in the tool panel
Changing ruler guide colors requires too many steps (Layout > Ruler Guides > Change color > Ok). When a guide is selected, guide color should be (also) configurable in the tool panel. This would make it feel a lot more 'instant'.

Create an IntelliJ / Webstorm plugin which supports Adobe scripting
Please consider creating an IntelliJ / Webstorm plugin which allows the scripting an debugging of all Adobe applications like Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, ...
This could be a viable alternative to the current ExtendScript Toolkit application, which is outdated, full of bugs, and lakes important scripting features.
The new plugin should support ...
- All Adobe DOM's
- Full code autocompletion
- Code hints
- Connecting to the Adobe applications, allowing real time debugging...

Use Keyboard arrows to go through links list
When I want to check the links in the links menu and I have klicked on one of them, I thought it could be time saving if I could just use the arrows of my keyboard to "scroll up and down" through them. Right now you have to always klick with your mouse on one of them, you can´t use the arrows to go through them.

Height & width in object styles needs more options
I did try out the new H&W feature in CC2018 using it on a image frame with a picture inside it. I anchored it to the heading of each chapter and wanted to see if I could resize the image from the object style panel. This did not work the way I was hoping for; There is no way to lock the H&W proportions so that the frame fits the image dimensions. I could not determine a reference point from where the frame is growing. A great upgrade to the feature would be: Lock proportions, scale content with the frame (I know this can be done in auto-size) and reference point.

Reach master page from the page document via ctrl/right click
This is something that’s brilliantly done in Muse, and not so complicate to add as a feature in inDesign, because everything is already there.
When you’re in Muse, in « design mode », you can right/ctrl click anywhere on any page to wether apply a Master or reach the applied master.
In Muse, the « plan mode » (which is inDesign’s pages panel) is usually in another window, complicate to reach, but nonetheless, in inDesign, that could help new users to get what a master page is.
Reason : most of the time, I don’t want to have my pages panel open, cause I can navigate via keyboard shortcuts. And if I have a lot of master modifications to apply, yes, I will open it, it’s great as it is now.

Form Field Export Tags
Form fields tags aren't exporting properly for tagged pdfs in the newest Indesign (13.0.1). The tags won't show up in the file therefore not allowing the pdfs to pass the accessibility checker. The only work around I'm finding is to re-install the 2017 CC, save the files out as an idml and reopen and export from there. There are no issues when exporting as tagged pdf from the 2017 CC.

Colour picker
Bring back the old Eyedropper tool, or make it an option.. The RGB one is pretty useless when working in print.

Variable for dimensions
It would be very useful to have a text variable for dimensions of the page/trimbox/bleedbox or even for objects (along the lines of a caption).

CJK typesetting in InDesign CC
We're often receiving the inputs with Chinesh, Japanese and Korean languages, so we're reinstalling the CC with new language to handle these inputs. So it'll be good to have direct feature in InDesign to handle CJK inputs without re-installation.

Make a real collaboration with InDesign/InCopy via CC
It was hard to see, that InCopy is still using E-Mail to collaborate with editors on another place. I thought it's all in the CC!! For this is a must have: I'm sharing an InDesign-document (or parts of it) save it for my incopy-editor. The editor gets a notification (email or instant) and will open it and makes changes and new content, save it and the designer gets a notification that there is new content from editor xy. He can now accept this and the new content is inside the InDesign-document. Finish.
But ash the moment it's very hard to check out/in make assignments, export it directly or as package. And saving on dropbox produces many errors/bugs (can't work in text-frames in InDesign nor InCopy …).Please, make it real user friendly and smart for small teams over the world! (I thought it is, when I step into CC!!!)

Endnote citation order
Looking to expand the scope of endnotes and footnote to include multiple stories in a document so that the citation order follows reference where it falls on the page, not just a single story.

Max size in Text Frame options.
Why is there a minimum size for text frames, but not a maximum size. We use Auto-size combined with text-wrap a lot with liquid layout templates to allow text to adapt to it's new sizes/dimensions. Occasionally it would be great if we could build a maximum size that the text box can grow too instead of giving it the minimum size.
