Urgent: Flatplan workflow feature request for InDesign / Bridge (critical for all magazine publishers)
Hi Adobe team,
We’re honestly desperate at this point. We’ve been trying for weeks to reach someone from Adobe who could even acknowledge this topic — through enterprise support, admin console, chat agents, even our reseller — and it’s absolutely impossible.
It’s insane that even as an enterprise customer, we can’t reach a real product contact to talk about something so fundamental.
We’re part of BurdaMedia International (Czech Republic), publishers of ELLE and ELLE Decoration. But this isn’t just our pain — it’s something every single magazine publisher still using InDesign is facing.
There’s simply no native way to plan or visualize flatplans, page structures, ad positions, or collaborative magazine layouts inside Creative Cloud.Legacy systems like WoodWing or K4 are outdated, overpriced, and don’t fit today’s workflows — yet Adobe still doesn’t offer even a lightweight in-house alternative.
Here’s what we’re asking for:
→ A Bridge-based flatplan module (or workspace) that can visualize InDesign pages as individual, draggable objects.
→ The ability to reorder pages, assign colors or labels (editorial, ad, marketing), and link InDesign or PDF files to each position.
→ Automatic renumbering in InDesign when page order changes.
→ Optional PDF preflight and simple export for final issues. It’s a technically simple concept — no new platform, just a smarter integration between Bridge and InDesign — but it would solve a huge, decades-old workflow gap.
This isn’t just about convenience for publishers.
It’s about Adobe’s relevance in real production.
If tools like Affinity Publisher or Apple (after acquiring Pixelmator) start offering integrated flatplan collaboration, many teams will start moving away from InDesign. We love Adobe, and we’ve built our entire production workflow around it — but right now, we’re forced to sketch magazine layouts in Excel.
That’s… absurd in 2025.Please — could someone from the InDesign or Publishing Solutions product team contact us so we can share our technical brief and prototype concept?
We’re ready to collaborate and show how easily this could be implemented.

Switching language resets preferences and breaks app recognition in Creative Cloud
I’m writing as an enterprise customer managing multiple Adobe Creative Cloud licenses across a multilingual team. We frequently switch UI languages and reassign machines, so consistent environment management is essential to maintaining workflow stability.
When switching InDesign’s UI language through Creative Cloud (for example, from Czech to English), all user-specific settings — workspaces, keyboard shortcuts, export presets, print settings, and scripts — are effectively lost.
This happens because each language version maintains a separate preferences folder (csCZ, enUS, etc.) with no migration or shared profile mechanism. After changing the install language, Creative Cloud also misidentifies previously installed applications as uninstalled, causing confusion and unnecessary duplication. This design makes environment management extremely inefficient for enterprise and multilingual users. Reconfiguring an entire setup every time a language or workstation changes is unproductive and error-prone.
At the enterprise level, we expect:
1. Centralized, cloud-synced user preferences tied to the user’s Adobe ID — covering shortcuts, workspaces, scripts, and presets.
2. Team-level sharing and deployment of those settings to ensure consistency across multiple users and systems.
3. A proper migration utility for switching application language or version.
4. A cleaned-up folder structure, as the current InDesign and Creative Cloud environment creates excessive fragmentation and clutter across system directories.Additionally, it’s quite concerning that as an enterprise customer, there’s no direct way to reach Adobe’s product or technical teams through the Admin Console. Even with enterprise credentials, the only available channel to report structural issues like this is via public forums. That’s not acceptable for enterprise-level support expectations.
Adobe software produces one of the most chaotic preference folder structures in the industry. Modernizing this system to a unified, cloud-based model would eliminate countless hours of redundant setup and maintenance.
This issue directly impacts productivity, IT efficiency, and user experience in professional environments. Please escalate this internally to both the InDesign and Creative Cloud teams for review.I’m happy to provide detailed workflow examples or configuration data if that helps the product team understand the enterprise-level impact.

Toi et Moi Engagement Ring: A Timeless Symbol of Two Souls United in Love
A toi et moi engagement ring is one of the most romantic and meaningful designs in jewelry history. The phrase “toi et moi” translates to “you and me” in French — symbolizing the beautiful union of two hearts and two souls coming together as one. Featuring two gemstones set side by side, this style perfectly represents the balance of individuality and togetherness in a loving relationship.
The toi et moi ring became famous in the 18th century when Napoleon Bonaparte gifted a sapphire and diamond version to Josephine de Beauharnais, marking it as a powerful emblem of love and devotion. Today, this design has been embraced by modern couples and celebrities alike, celebrated for its deep symbolism and elegant style.

Veja o anexo.

Dynamic text for Indesign please…..
It would save so much time — while Dynamic Text isn’t perfect in Photoshop Beta, it’s still great. Since InDesign is such a typographic powerhouse, though, it would make even more sense there — far more control, styles, and layout flexibility.

Expandir columnas

Feedback on the Mathematical Character Feature in InDesign
Dear Adobe Team,
First of all, I would like to thank you for adding the mathematical character insertion feature to InDesign. This is a very important step, especially for users who prepare educational materials, scientific publications, or technical documents.
However, I have noticed a few limitations while using this feature:
The font of the mathematical characters cannot be changed. This makes it difficult to maintain visual consistency with the rest of the document and reduces flexibility in professional designs.
Mathematical characters are not aligned with the baseline of the surrounding text. They often appear slightly above or below the text line, which disrupts the overall layout.
For these reasons, I suggest improving this feature by allowing users to select fonts for mathematical characters and ensuring proper alignment with the text baseline.I truly appreciate Adobe’s ongoing commitment to improving user experience, and I’m confident that this feedback will be valuable for future updates.
Thank you for your attention and great work.

Precise Text Wrap Control for Column Rules
I love the Column Rules feature in the Text Frame Options Dialogue. What keeps me from using it as often as I'd like is due to how column rules interact with text wrap.
I'd like to have: 1. Numerical control of how rules wrap independent from text in the text wrap dialogue box, or: 2. The ability for rules to be locked to baseline grids. Perhaps having both would give the perfect amount of control?
Please see my screen grab attached. You will see that the body copy wraps as expected, but the column rule does not. It's sticking above where I'd expect it to be.
It's possible I'm missing something or some method for this already known in the community. Feel free to let me know.
Thank you!

Binding option for everyone
I would like to request that the Binding option (Left/Right) be made available in all document types and regional settings, not just in specific templates or page presets.
We are a publishing company based in Hungary, and we regularly publish Japanese manga titles. The materials we receive from Japan are prepared in InDesign with right-to-left page order (Right Binding). Unfortunately, once we open or localize these files, the Binding option is often locked or unavailable, which means we cannot simply flip the reading direction.
As a result, we have to manually recreate or copy all pages into a new document with the correct binding setting, which is both time-consuming and error-prone.
Having the Binding setting accessible and editable at any time — regardless of language or document preset — would greatly improve international publishing workflows, especially for teams handling manga, Arabic, or Hebrew layouts.
Thank you very much for considering this improvement. It would make InDesign even more powerful for multilingual and global publishing projects.

Alternate layout - Improve
I struggling with this function, i want easy options for me that makes severeal sizes to dirrerent devices of the same design.
I want the option to only make an alternative layout on one choosen page, not auto make it to all my pages.
Also, the autoscale and object adjustment is'nt good at all. If you try this function in canva, it will take me some seconds and i only need to adjust it a little bit, in Indesign, its a struggle. Ans i want to use indesign, but its tome consuming.1 vote
