Support for conversion or migration of legacy Adobe pagemaker files
It would be nice if Adobe InDesign allows opening or showing conversion options for legacy Adobe Pagemaker PMD files

Include bit depth (8/16/32 bits per channel) as an item to be included in the Links panel (or at least in the Info panel).
I know that bit depth is included in XMP File Info but as this panel is modal (and overly high) it is tedious to fetch this information from there. It would be convenient to have both in Links and Info panels. Possibly these panels could be updated with other useful data, too,. This is useful as HDR is becoming increasingly popular, and while PDFs can include 32-bit images, I'd imagine they are problematic in press.

Auto size headshots in frames based on a "key object" frame
Similar to how Photoshop has facial recognition, a lot of the time in my job I have to place many headshots in a grid of frames, etc. and they're not all the same resolution, crop or size. It would be awesome to have a feature that lets you select all of the frames with face photos, then click one of the frames like setting the "key object" and then InDesign will size the headshot images within the rest of the frames to match the cropping of the "key object" so everything looks consistent.

Make other type of non-separable characters
Sometimes, on dealing with math questions, we need to use measurament unities like "kg/cm²" and the character "/" wrap the line, separating a measure that is one itself. So I think it might be nice to include other non-separable characters than space and hyphen, like non-separable "!", "()", "/", ", etc. Maybe it could be even an option in the character panel...

Please fix text boxes after accepting a PDF comment
When importing PDF comments and accepting the markup/comment, the text box becomes unresponsive until you click off and back on multiple times. This has been an unaddressed bug for years. I am working on a catalogue with over 1,000 comments, this is going to double the time it takes to work on each page. Please fix this bug

Please remove the text (GPU Preview) in the name tabs.
They take up needed space if you have several files open. I know I can turn it off if I turn off GPU but would rather not.

Button to uniform Master page(s) margins to the whole Document margins
In the Layout/Margins and Coloumns window menu when I have selected a Master Page, I find no way to re-uniform the margins to the original margins set for the entire document. This would be a useful feature: when I changed the format adding 4mm to my 17x24 cm to be 17x24,4cm as the standard used by Amazon kdp for paper format, I would like to preserve the preceding paging by adding 2 mm to the inferior and superior margins. I did it in the menu File/set document for the whole document, but I saw my pages did not update since the format was manually set for the Master pages. So I had to change manually again the format for each master page in the Layout/Margins and colums menu. If I could set the command "uniform to the document settings" (in the position I put on the image attached) if would be more professional and it would also follow the document settings if I change format again.
Could you please implement this flag button?

Check GenAI Images in Preflight
Add GenAI images to Preflight profiles. This is especially important since GenAI images default to saving to the user's computer, which is not ideal in a collaborative environment where other users will see broken links.

Color Swatch Info
Please add the Color Swatch Info creation feature from Illustrator to InDesign. Not sure why this wasn't added along with the Illustrator one? It would be extremely useful in both apps, since InDesign is also used to create styleguides.

Make cells split over 2 pages like they do in Word
Please Make cells split over 2 pages like they do in Word. We publish very large books that are updated all the time, having to manually cut cells at every page is an unimaginably heavy work load! And it is wasted work. It has to be redone every edition!

Custom organization of links panel
Options within Links Panel to sort links not by name/page/location folder, but into custom folders or priority. Allow users to place links at the top that are changed or edited more frequently. Current issue is job requires me to change multiple logo files spread throughout document quickly. If multiple instances are grouped, sorting by layer does not work and layer will also sort by layer name and not top layer. Letting users set priority status to links or create & name custom folders within the links panel can help find things quickly.

Add a note for paragraph and character styles
Add a text field (doesn't need to be really long, maybe 255 characters?) to allow users to make notes about their styles!

Regarding the InDesign file font pointing confusion: Wish Adobe would provide 3 options.
Regarding the InDesign file font pointing confusion:
Wish Adobe would provide 3 options.
I receive InDesign files from a lot of different people when I'm actually working.
Although they are all packaged and given to me later, they also copy all the fonts into the Documents Fonts directory.
However, when I open them, some of the fonts in the files do not point to Documents Fonts, but to the “C:windows\fonts” directory, and the fonts have changed and become different from the previous one, and sometimes they are not even prompted. Some of the fonts I have on my computer may have the same name, but the versions may be different, and they may even be very different.
This is quite dangerous.
I very much hope, InDesign will have such a font management feature:
1. intelligent selection (suitable for the same computer to deal with their own packaged files), requiring the first point to documents, missing fonts and then point to C:\windows\fonts
2. forced to point to C:\windows\fonts directory (suitable for their own A and B between the two computers, dealing with their own files)
2. forced to point to the Document fonts directory (suitable for handling other people's packaged files)The current version of Indesign, using the first program, often appear to point to the wrong, even if the same computer, when you install a new version of the font, or the same file, you copy to the B computer, and then copied back to the initial A computer, there may be a lack of fonts.

Non-Linear History and Undos - By page
Much like paste, paste into, paste in place, undos should be able to have some added features. Photoshop has non-linear history, which feels confusing to undo a brush from 10 steps ago. However, InDesign would greatly benefit from current page specific history, undos, searching, text, edits etc.
An example, my workflow for placing graphics and prepping captions in a document, is to do one task at a time page by page. I also use transform again individually to apply things like rotation to existing graphics, or frame fitting if I'm placing a graphic somewhere. When placing a graphic into an existing frame, I may advance to the next several pages to place the rest before reformatting everything. In order to review that I made the appropriate changes, I may need to undo 20 steps to see what happened, jumping around in the document as I undo.
If each page were able to keep it's own history, each would function like a single document and be easy to see changes all at once. Search, edit locking(disabling keystrokes on non active pages), would also benefit from modifying InDesign documents incorrectly. Of course, if you did this I'm going to ask for artboard specific history as well, but In my mind, both would be accessible, similar to paste vs paste in place.

Performance on Apple Silicon
I’m writing to report ongoing performance issues in Adobe InDesign that the latest update unfortunately hasn’t resolved.
On my Apple Silicon Mac Studio (M2 chip, 64 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD) running macOS Sonoma 15.1.1 (24B91), even simple tasks like switching between a text box (T) and an object (V) have a noticeable delay of about half a second. This was never an issue on my older Intel-based MacBook Pro with Adobe CS, and it’s making normal daily work in InDesign frustratingly slow.
For comparison, Illustrator performs flawlessly, with instant responses as expected, making the difference between the two apps striking.
I’ve already tried troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, and resetting preferences, but the issue persists, leading me to believe it may be related to the code.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this? I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Enhancements Needed for InDesign's Font and Shortcut Menus
- Search Functionality in Keyboard Shortcut Settings
In Photoshop, the keyboard shortcut settings include a search function that facilitates quick navigation through extensive menus. Implementing a similar feature in InDesign would streamline workflow efficiency.
- Improved Font Menu Navigation
The current font dropdown menu displays a limited number of typefaces, necessitating extensive scrolling. Expanding the dropdown to utilize the full screen height would allow more fonts to be visible simultaneously, reducing the need for excessive scrolling.
Additionally, when searching for a font, the cursor defaults to the top of the menu, highlighting the last used font. Positioning the cursor directly at the searched font would enhance usability, especially when frequently switching between similar font families.
Implementing these enhancements would significantly improve the user experience in InDesign.

Request for Text Alignment Option for Interactive Forms Directly in InDesign
Dear Adobe InDesign Team,
I would like to request the addition of a feature that allows text alignment for interactive forms to be managed directly within InDesign, rather than having to perform this task in Adobe Acrobat.
Currently, our workflow involves creating datasheets with centered ordering codes, which are frequently updated. Each update requires redoing the text alignment in Acrobat, adding unnecessary steps to our process. This is both time-consuming and frustrating, especially for what should be a simple text alignment adjustment.
Having this feature integrated into InDesign would greatly improve efficiency and streamline the creation of interactive forms, saving significant time and effort for teams managing similar projects.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Best regards

Export Selected Objects to PDF.
Hello. I need to export selected objects to PDF in Indesign as we do for PNG. This is possible in Illustrator but not in Indesign. It would be good if it could work with object styles. Export all objects in a style to PDF one by one.
I am working for education technology. I am writing content in Indesign and after using this content to prepare different books. So I need to split each question or content.
