  2. when creating pdf output, please make the crops .5" when bleed isn't specified, right now it saves to a weird measurement

when bleed size isn't specified and crop marks are checked, pdf when exported adds a weird measurement to contain the crop marks. please let it be a standardized .5" -- that way when a pdf shows crops and bleed you can know that the finished size is 1 inch smaller, not have to do math with .389 or whatever. this will also help with print production as trimming in bindery is now mostly digital. the guys can punch in .5" and not have to do math or be fractionally off.

  3. Right to Left direction

In the previous version, I could simply change the paragraph from LTR to RTL but now I have to uninstall all Adobe applications and delete the preferences so I can change the language in Creative Cloud to English Hebrew or English Arabic. Can this turn back to what it was? It was way easier and more user-friendly. All this work for one paragraph when I could previously do it with a click seems just too much.

  4. Easy text export of color number information for Branding

On branding projects, I have to provide my clients with all their color number information, and make it look pretty at the same time. A way to export or copy/paste the cmyk, rgb, hex, pantone, lab information would be hugely helpful! See example

  5. Duplicate interactive buttons in Indesign

    InDesign Interactive buttons
I have duplicate button names but I'm having a difficult time locating the duplicate. If I could use the Tabbing Order box to highlight the button on the page, it would save huge amounts of time! Thanks.

  6. Strokes > Content

I have to make sell sheets for work in InDesign semi-regularly, with one column being designated for product images. Having a way for strokes to be rendered over images would be great. Only way I’ve found of circumventing it has been to set the images to the Multiply style so the stroke can show through.

  7. When setting up default page layout, updating margins repeatedly crashed inDesign

When setting up default indesign setup -> page layout then, updating margins when click 'ok' or 'rtrn' indesign repeatedly crashes.

I checked it's upto date and also tried restarting. This is a bug.

  8. print to pdf as poster in custom page sizes

Please add print poster to pdf as pages size feature like adobe dc in windows. In mac, we can't print poster as pdf files. Like print 1650 mm x 630 mm as 15 files pdf in F4 size, 330x5=1650 210x3=630. 1650 x 630 = 15 F4 Papers.

  9. CC Libraries save location info to place graphics in specific positions

Currently, only INDL libraries save object placement info, so when you right click and select place, an item will be in the correct position on the page. Please add this to CC library items as well.

  10. This is the first time that my adobe indesign files are exporting to a blank document. I see the images; I know they are there.

Why are the pages exporting to blank? I have not allowed bleed or slugs and they still export blank. I cannot upload my published book.

  12. Integration of Behance with InDesign

Unlike Illustrator, where it's relatively easy to copy and paste reference images, I find it difficult to refer back to my references. Although all applications throughout the Adobe CC could really use this feature, I especially would like for it to be considered with InDesign.

I would like to highlight/sort certain artwork on Behance that I can then view in the "CC Libraries" tab. This would allow me to quickly view and refer back to my inspirations. I really think this is a missed opportunity, since Adobe has already acquired Behance and shows little-no interest of connecting it with applications.

  13. Show description text when choosing existing document to update.

The Publish Online feature has been really useful for my company--we create brochures for specific clients or potential clients, and provide them access to the electronic version of the brochure.

Most of our brochures are based on a single template, but are altered slightly to meet the needs of the specific client. We always enter a fairly generic document title in the Document Settings fields of the Publish Your Document Online window, because that title is shown at the bottom of the page when the document is accessed by the end user.

We then use the "Description" window to capture…

  14. Use spine as origin by default

By default the origin of the spread is to the upper left. This makes symmetrical placement with exact numbers quite awkward as you have to manually add and subtract the page width. There is already a setting for using the spine as origin, but in my view this is the sensible default value. I can't really think of any reason why you'd want to define coordinates on the right page from the outer corner of the left page. An origin that lies symmetrically where the pages meet makes so much more sense to me.

  15. Weird grey objects appearing on pages

I updated my OS today -- and I'm having major problems with InDesign. For one, it's running slowly. More distressing, however, are the strange dark grey angular objects that are appearing on pages. They appear and then disappear and then reappear. See attached screenshots. Those grey objects are NOT part of my page design. I have no idea where they are coming from. This is a file created two months ago, and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. I'm using InDesign CC.

  16. Break the table straddle rules (borders)

Often we're receiving the feedback from our internal clients that table rule to be splitted whenever the tables are having multiple heads (attached the screen shot). Currently we unable to achieve this, need to fix in InDesign to fix this feedback.

  17. Removing the 1 point minimum value between tab stops

When setting tab stops next to each other Indesign has a minimum value of 1 point between stops.

This is too much in many cases.
For instance if you want to have hanging quotation marks using tabs this minimum value makes the distance too large in most text sizes.

Please let the user define the minimum value freely.

  18. Make “Undeline Options” in the Character panel maintain the last settings.

Please make “Undeline Options” in the Character panel maintain the last settings and apply those to each new underlinining, as opposed to resetting to the default every time. As this makes us users have to go into the Character dropdown for “Undeline Options” and set the distance and with over and over and over and over again ... Yes, applying styles may take care of this problem but I don’t alway bother to create styles for each small project. Thank you!

  19. When you issue a new version of ANY Adobe package keep the help text in synch

It is a poor indicator of an organisations ability to manager Quality Control in it's software when it allows the hep text to fall behind the release cycle. Using the most recent version of CC Indesign, the Help text suggests that I am able to add a new page by using the pages panel. It further goes in to say that if it is NOT visible it will be in the Window menu. When I check the menu there is no such facility.

  20. Error in InDesign

There is since several (!) updates an error in InDesign which is really stupid!

If you split the document into two windows (with the button on the right bottom) you should be able having two contents of a document. This worked for years without any problem. Bust since several version this function makes only nonsense!
We produce a lot of user guides in several languages (usually 3-4, sometimes up to 12 languages). For checking them we open as described the split screen. on the left side we use the main language (for ex. German), on the right side we have…
