As a freelancer working in and out of different studios, having to set up workspaces each time could be made easier by being able to import a workspace setting (like you can with swatches).
This feature would be useful across all CS programs.15 votes
t would be a big help for those of us who have to create accessible documents to have Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign.
Pushing a PDF to Illustrator to check this is an awkward workaround.15 votes
This would be a feature to see the dates / time spent on a document. It could be accessed in the documents info panel (attached). This feature would be useful for client invoicing and project managing especially in advertising where time is money.15 votes

When creating an Index, you are limited to populate ONLY one Index style format. MS Word, it is greatly inferior program, and yet you can create a General Index, a Index of Cases and Index of Figures. Indesign is the leading industry program for designers and writers, NOT MS word.
What happens if have lots of illustrations, data tables graphs and flowcharts all numbered accordingly. For example, an illustration (Figure 20 or Table 7), maybe on page 40, but there are 40 mentions throughout the document. Thus, in Indesign, you can not create a proper index list every page number…15 votes
As per the title, when working with a CMYK document with 100K blacks, when exporting to RGB, these should always get translated to RGB 0,0,0 - regardless of what Printing/Exporting setting is used in the Appearance of Black preference menu.
Right now, when exporting a CMYK document to RGB (regardless of whether you use PDF, PNG or JPG), if your Appearance to Black Print/Export setting is set to "Output All Blacks Accurately", you will end up with incorrect black levels. What really should be RGB 0,0,0 ends up being RGB 35,31,32 or so. This is true even when working with…15 votes

Please enable support for GPU utilisation on non Retina enabled screens. My graphics card is more than able to lever this ability, it's just my Mac 27" is not Retina.15 votes
When sending a document for review through CC online, my reviewers have very limited edit/markup options (add comment, draw, add pin). Can you add all the text markup options available in the "Comment" tool of the desktop version of Acrobat Pro? For example, insert text, add note to replace text, strikethrough, callout boxes, etc. This is valuable to me because it is much easier to read/understand the edits if they're clear text edits, not just comments in a box. Thank you!14 votes
I thought of a way to implement multiple references to the same footnote without breaking HTML links between footnotes.
You could allow for the creation of multiple footnote links from the text into footnotes that point to the same footnote, with a sequence of different secondary designations. For example, footnote 1a, 1b, 1c... all could point to Footnote 1. Then, in the footnote, you could open with 1 a b c ..., with the different letters providing alternate linkbacks to the other places in the text.
This is how Wikipedia handles multiple referencing to the same citation, so there's precedent.…14 votes
It seems like whenever one single linked file is edited, preflight starts its entire 'checking' process over from scratch every time. This is extremely slow and inefficient.
Say I have a document containing 200 linked psd files. I edit one of those in photoshop and then update the link in indesign. Preflight then proceeds to check/process all 200 links over again. Can it be made more intelligent so that it only re-checks what has actually changed?14 votes
Control+C+1=(copy object 1)
Control+V+1=(paste object 1)
Control+C+2=(copy object 2)
Control+V+2=(paste object 2)
Control+C+3=(copy object 3)
Control+V+3=(paste object 3)
Which would allow you to have multiple copy and paste items on the clipboard14 votes
First, thank you for your recent new/improved features, including endnotes, improved word wrap, and better object tags in exported pdfs.
As a designer, the following requests are not just desirable, they are necessary in order to make my documents fully meet government 508 requirements:
- Please make word wrap work no matter where on the page a text or graphic frame is anchored. Currently, word wrap only works if the item is positioned after the anchor. *Please allow "space before" to work on the first line in a text frame. *Please change items on master pages so they are active NOT…
In presentation mode (Shift + W) the page will scaled to the screen-size. It#s bad, especially if the layout/page is very small. It would be great if I can zoom to 100% (cmd + 1) in presentation mode!!14 votes
Disable Launch Image
I do not think the launch images in photoshop, indesign and illustrator are culturally sensitive. They should not include any people especially not raunchy females. They should be totally neutral - landscapes, nature, no people please!!13 votes
With InDesign CC19 I can't open all my PMD files (several hundred)!!!
I hope that you will realize a plugin.
when using Data Merge, so many of us have gotten the "There is at least one data placeholder that cannot be found in the data source. Make sure all the placeholders correspond to the fields in the data source." error and have spent way too much time trying to find the issue.
Can Adobe add a way to highlight what InDesign is objecting to when this message happens?
This morning, I gave up and inserted the text manually. There were only 4 elements on each of my 5 Master pages and I could not find the offending object.13 votes
It is difficult to compare very huge indd files.
It will be very useful if we are able to compare 2 indd files with minute precision including the styles, tags applied to text etc.
A report should be generated of the change or atleast an UI where the differences can be compared between the 2 documents.13 votes
it would be very usefull if we could export jpgs from indd. file (contains different page sizes, 1200x628, 760x600, etc..) named by different page sizes like you did with export PDF files.
Thank you13 votes
It looks like Import PDF comments only works for individual document files. We use compiled book files for our authors at AuthorSupport.com. Will this be a feature that eventual can be imported via the book panel and applied to the compiled documents?13 votes
