Preview Checkbox for Polygon Tool
I'd love to see a preview checkbox added to the Polygon Tool.
When you click on your artboard with the Polygon Tool selected, some options come up to make adjustments to the shape. It's difficult to know how your changes to these settings is adjusting the resulting shape without a preview tool.

Document resizing without layout adjust
For me, the "feature" Adjust layout is always seemingly active when I change the document size, even though I have turned it off (or rather, never turned it on); my content elements move around on the screen when I change the document size. Which has always annoyed me.
However, today I found an explanation, at least in part. It's only the elements that are placed outside the document area, on the pasteboard, that jump around. And they do so in relation to the pasteboard. Anything placed on the document area, wholly or in part, stays where it should be.

Auto size headshots in frames based on a "key object" frame
Similar to how Photoshop has facial recognition, a lot of the time in my job I have to place many headshots in a grid of frames, etc. and they're not all the same resolution, crop or size. It would be awesome to have a feature that lets you select all of the frames with face photos, then click one of the frames like setting the "key object" and then InDesign will size the headshot images within the rest of the frames to match the cropping of the "key object" so everything looks consistent.

Custom organization of links panel
Options within Links Panel to sort links not by name/page/location folder, but into custom folders or priority. Allow users to place links at the top that are changed or edited more frequently. Current issue is job requires me to change multiple logo files spread throughout document quickly. If multiple instances are grouped, sorting by layer does not work and layer will also sort by layer name and not top layer. Letting users set priority status to links or create & name custom folders within the links panel can help find things quickly.

Stop snapping to pixel or give us option to disable
Give us the option to not snap to pixel when the ruler is set to measure in pixels.
Fine to snap to pixels when drawing boxes and lines. But completely useless for text and anything with a curve.

Generative Layout Cleanup
One of the most onerous, time-consuming tasks I deal with as a production designer is fixing layouts from designers who don't understand paragraph styles and efficient layout (No shade! They have other things to focus on and hey… that's why my job exists!)
I would like an AI that can recognize multiple separate type objects on a page, combine them into single text boxes with paragraph styles that control spacing.
In the screenshots, you first see a typical "designer" layout (again, no shade) with ten separate objects with formatting for each applied on top of the default Basic Paragraph style.

clipping path select subject
Detect edges is way out of date. This should/could be replaced with the same sort of programing that the current Text runaround tool uses (select subject) this would give designers a ton more speed to get designs done rather than needing to go back and forth to Photoshop to create clipping paths. Currently want this mostly for the mock up stage of my design files but if the paths are good enough i don't see why they couldn't wind up being used in final production. This would save loads of time... Especially if it was object aware and could create…

lace Images Behind Text Without Outlines (Layers like Photoshop)
Description:
In Adobe InDesign, there is currently no option to place images behind text without converting the text to outlines or paths. In Photoshop, this is easily achieved using layer masks and clipping masks. It would be highly beneficial to have a similar feature in InDesign, allowing users to place images directly behind text that can still be edited (font, size, and content) without converting it to outlines.Benefits for Users:
Increased flexibility and efficiency when working with text and images
Ability to maintain the editability of the text (users can continue to adjust font, size, and wording)

Automatic generation of business card qr-code by text content of business card/text boxes
It is very tedious to copy-paste text into the text boxes for qr-code generation. Especially for business cards.
It would be great if this can function automatically, e.g. by text from the previous page or by text that can be specified.1 vote -
Linked image boxes that reflow
I need image boxes that can be linked and reflow images as some images are added or removed. I work on a 450 page + catalog type document that has individual links for images that are 4 on a page. In each section we remove or add images seasonally. Right now we have to move the images by hand. If we could link the image boxes so they would reflow as you added and removed images it would save us immeasurable time. Sample page attached.

Automatic Photo Collage Creation Tool
I would like Adobe InDesign to include a feature that allows users to automatically create a photo collage. The process would involve the user drawing a content box on the page or layout, defining the area where the collage should be placed. After selecting the photos they want to include in the collage, there would be an option to generate a collage layout using AI. The tool would intelligently arrange the selected images to fit within the content box, creating a well-balanced, visually appealing collage in just a few clicks. This feature would save significant time and effort when creating…

Check Icon Effects Rapid ON/OFF
I find this very frustrating every time.
I would like to be able to activate/deactivate an effect by clicking on the check icon.- clicking on the check activates and deactivates the effect (on/off)
- clicking on the name of the effect on the right should open the corresponding panel (as it already works now)
Often to deactivate an effect I have to enter the panel to deactivate the check, this would be fine when I have to set the parameters but if I simply have to deactivate the effect I have to open a second panel that could be avoided.
I…

Image to Text - Save images
Currently there is no direct way to download and save an image created by using the AI "Image to Text" tool. The document has to be packaged and then the images used will be saved in that package. However, it would be great if there was a "download or save" option in the drop-down menu of each image you've chosen to use - this way you can name it and save it directly to a suitable folder for later use.

AI feature: create a layout from some example images
It would be great if InDesign could create multi-page layouts from a few example images. For example, you've already designed a page, and it would take that and use the pattern & style of it to make more pages and layout variants in the same style. Or you can upload a reference picture to do the same.
