An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedConfirmed, I have exactly the same issue, just with the Versant 80 but same Fiery ex-i. Never noticed it because I must have been working only on "new" documents before, and only just opened an old file now.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedPretty sure I had this issue with a previous version of InDesign, and it went away. Appears to be back again. Perhaps reintroduced with ID 2018? I don't do a lot of printing from ID these days so it's hard to say.
An error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedI've just had this with a Xerox Versant 80. All other apps work fine. If I go into the printer's dialog and change settings there, they are not saved. I can click ok, and go immediately back in and they are back to the defaults.

Fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign version - InDesign 2023. The fix should solve most of the issues that were seen earlier.
A new option "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" is introduced in Preferences > Composition dialog. It is turned ON by default for new documents created in ID2023. For documents created in previous InDesign versions, this option is turned off by default - which can be turned ON to see the improved behavior.
Please let us know how the fix is working for you.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedYes! I can't think of why anyone would want it to behave the way it currently does.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedI believe you can already do items 1 and 2: check out this link:
https://indesignsecrets.com/figure-numbering-in-indesign-and-cross-references-to-them.phpI think in a PDF it will make clickable cross-references: not sure about the ID doc itself. I tend to do this sort of stuff in Word these days (oh the horror!).

In InDesign, the numeric keypad is only meant to assign shortcuts to Styles – Paragraph, Character, Object, Table.
For assigning shortcuts to other Application’s commands, you’ll have to use the other shortcuts – for e.g., to use Cmd+1 to bring image to 100%, you will have to press Cmd and the ‘1’ key that is above the letter keys (on English keyboard, 1 is above letter Q).
Hope it helps to clarify how shortcuts work in InDesign.

Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment Andrewtb333 commentedDo you have num lock turned off? I use a Mac keyboard on my PC and thus have no light for it and sometimes when using the calculator I mistakenly press the "Clear" button like I would on a mac (for "AC" on the calculator) and this of course turns num lock off on a PC. Mine is a strange scenario with the non-standard setup but thought I'd mention it, as I've had the same issue with shortcut keys not working and gone to all sorts of troubleshooting lengths before realising with an eye roll what I'd done! But as it works in Illustrator and Photoshop it may be something else.

Actually some of the settings do stick. The "Paper source" setting sticks, for instance, but "Offset jobs" and duplex settings don't.
