An error occurred while saving the comment Ulysses de Oliveira commentedI agree. This missing feature would have saved me dozens of working hours. That's a shame ID doesn't have that.

Hi,
Can you please add a small video (on WeTransfer/Youtube/Dropbox) and post a link here so that it can be looked into?
We have tried to reproduce it but unable to do it.
Also, please try once after clearing your cache and preferences. forums.adobe.com/thread/526990

This issue affects versions 2015 and 2017 as well as the latest version of ID. I'm using Win10 and have already tried the 'magical solutions' of trashing the preferences and saving the file using idml format, but nothing seems to solve the problem.

Hello All,
Following up on the comments stating that the issue is yet not fixed, we did our investigation and found that, the issues being called out in the comment section, though maybe relevant but are different than the one for which this thread was originally created.
This particular thread caters to a very specific case which has been fixed in the last update of InDesign.
If you continue to face performance related issues with InDesign, we sincerely request you to create a separate thread so that we can categorize the performance related issues and address them completely.
In addition to track the performance issues effectively, it will also enable us to reach out to you in a organised manner when we investigate into each category of performance issues. We are extremely sorry for the troubles you are facing with InDesign and we are determined to resolve them as efficiently…
An error occurred while saving the comment Ulysses de Oliveira commentedThe best release I know of ID CC is 2015, although it has an annoying bug in the Find/Change dialog box. The 2017 release is terribly slow in Win10 and I don't even dare to try newer versions that probably brings new bugs.

I'm working with a 50-page document using the latest version of InDesign (15.1.1 x64) on Windows 10. Cross-reference not only takes minutes to create but also takes that amount of time to update. It's become a useless feature of InDesign.
