And to update this – it was a very short-lived feature. We now do not have the functionality – InDesign just remembers the file format of whatever was last exported – not the last export format of the file you have open.
If I export a file as a PDF, open another file and export it as a JPEG, then return to the first file, it will 'remember' JPEG as it's export format.
Is there a fix for this, other than perhaps resetting preferences constantly?

Yes, this would be very useful. The ability to set up a text box with multiple columns, with the ability to either manually drag the guides to make the columns different sizes, or the ability to enter a width and have the remaining columns adjust accordingly.

Yes, this would be handy.
I currently achieve this with scripting in Acrobat, but having it in Indesign would be nice.
The less time we have to spend working on the form in Acrobat the better!

This already exists as a button in the control strip at the top. Just to the right of the alignment icons themselves.
It will appear whenever you have an object selected.
You have the option of:
Align to Selection
Align to Key Object
Align to Margins
Align to Page
Align to SpreadI have keyboard shortcuts set-up for most the alignment options. I have them tied to the numeric keyboard keys so it is easy to learn and remember which is which!
