InDesign TeamBarry Cohen supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Barry Cohen commentedSince I have upgraded to InDesign CC 2017, now 2018, this issue with drop shadows has been happening. When I open a document, the shadows don't match the type style and they are out of place. I have to open the transparency effects dialog and uncheck all and then recheck to correct. If I nudge the type with arrow keys, the shadow distorts again. I AM TIRED OF PAYING FOR YOUR SOFTWARE WHEN IT CLEARLY DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. The shadow issue is a very big deal to me. It makes using InDesign a real chore as long as I have to keep monkeying around with transparency. PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!

Hi,
Can you add a video showing the issue? and some steps to reproduce the issue…
We are unable to reproduce this bug.
Are you on MAC or Win? Does it happen with all documents?
You can add a video to WeTransfer/Dropbox etc and add a link here as comment. Also, please confirm if your issue is similar to one mentioned here.. https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/31964464-blending-effects

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
We had launched our investigation into the matter to get to the root cause of the problem. As the part of our investigation, we had reached out to many of you personally over email.
We have concluded our investigation and have come up with few findings.1. For many of the users the issue got fixed after updating InDesign to a newer version.
2. For some, the issue got resolved after disabling a third-party application such as Suitecase fusion etc.
3. For few, the issue was intermittent and is no longer reproducible.
4. For majority of the users, the underlying cause of the performance issue was identified to be related to span columns, cross-references, third party plugin etc.We have created separated threads for these issues and we are now working towards resolving them.
However, over the time this thread…
An error occurred while saving the comment Barry Cohen commentedSince applying the most recent update to ID 2018 performance of In Design has been brutally slow. I am seeing the spinning beach ball way too much and it makes work close to impossible.

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.—

InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Barry Cohen commentedI have reported this months ago and attached files at that time. I have never had any response or help about this. Paying full price ($49.99/month) is beginning to make me angry since usability is only 50%.
Barry Cohen supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Barry Cohen commentedNever had a problem Packaging files in CS6. Now on CC 2017 I have to do it manually, which is a real time waster. Why can't it be fixed? I don not use a server, which I understand can cause problems. Fonts can be Collected/Package but not Photoshop files (tie, jpeg, psd, etc.).

Sorry Barry seeing you face so many issues with InDesign. We are working towards making InDesign a more stable application and also fixing behavioural issues.
What would really help if you can submit any bugs/issues that you are facing along with the steps, this would help the team reproduce the issues internally. Please follow the below link to file Bugs for InDesign.

Just now, a doc I created with ID 2020 a couple of days ago, and has opened fine every time has just given me the "Damage File" warning.
