An error occurred while saving the comment Tobias Wantzen commentedIn my eyes the highlight tool in Acrobat is not suitable for replacing text. This is clearly a matter for the insertion tool. I always use the comments pane, and click the comments one by one, so I couldn’t oversee one of them. When I clicked a comment Acrobat clearly highlights it and centers on it in the text.
The highlight tool in my eyes is for making suggestions or real comments on the text, but not for inserting, exchanging oder deleting of content (text).

An error occurred while saving the comment Tobias Wantzen commentedYou can do a TEXT search for <FEFF> to remove it, BUT: <FEFF> is also used in the context of XML tags, notes markers, and index markers! You can’t do a search and replace without possibly messing up other functions.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tobias Wantzen commentedI second #1.
As to #2 and #3:
---
#2:
I think this will best be done inside Acrobat before importing in ID.
---
#3:
Either make this in Acrobat before import OR do the corrections one by one in ID and correct typos of comments after execution OR live with the typos and let the copy editor/proof reader fix his/her faults in a new reading afterwards. -
