[ID-4281542]Unable to move multiple objects when selecting image frames
With the latest version of Indesign (21.4) I can't move multiple image frames any more unless I group them. This also applies when selecting an image frame and graphic elements such as rectangles or text frames, everything else deselects and stays put with the image moving. Except when I click and drag on the non image frame of the selection, then everything works as it should. Can you please fix this as it is highly annoying.
Mac OS 26.5, Indesign 21.4
Workaround:
- Holding the Shift key while dragging allows the entire selection to move correctly.
- Rolling back from InDesign 21.4 to InDesign 21.3 resolves the issue.
The team is working on a fix. We plan to make the fix available to all users soon.
Thank you for your patience & support.

I placed 6 Illustrator files on one an INDD page. I selected all with master Arrow. Placed the master Arrow tool on one of them (all six are selected and active). I move them. Only the one item where the Arrow tool moves, the other 5 other art files remain in place. You use to be able to move all elements at same time regardless of where the Arrow tool was placed. The only way to move multiple items is to place the Arrow tool directly on the bounding box outline, otherwise it refuses to move the 6 independent files at same time. This is a bug.

I have been an Adobe user since PageMaker days and once you have trained your brain (and fingers) on certain things, it gets frustrating when it just doesn't happen that way any more... I can't wait for the update on this! Thank you for looking into it... but the sooner the better!!

This issue is affecting me as well. Very frustrating. I have been working around this issue by grouping the objects, moving them, then ungrouping them. Looking forward to a fix. Thank you!

Lovely, another stupid issue that will take absolutely forever to get fixed just like with the undo history one

How can I roll back on InDesign to InDesign 21.3, the version is not avialable in the Creative Cloud to download and the former versions are deleted after updating?

Same here I'm afraid. Rolled back to 21.3. Won't be upgrading in a hurry.

Another user frustrated by this. We pay enough to Adobe to use their products, this seems like such a simple oversight.

Just adding my name to the list of people experiencing this issue. Very frustrating when you've been using a tool for 20 years, to suddenly have the way it works changed to something different.
I would also like to add, as another user has already, that I don't have the option to select key object when trying to align objects - it simply deselects that object. It is infuriating to have my workflow changed in so many ways. Please implement a fix for both of these issues as soon as humanly possible.

I am having this same issue, holding the shift key down does work but that is not practicital for my work flow. This problem also prevents me from aligning objects to a key object.

Also having this issue. It's incredibly frustrating. Do you have an ETA on when this will be fixed?
(holding shift does NOT work)Basic functionality should always be a priority over the addition of "new" AI fluff features.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing, was ruining my day so badly that I got onto the support chat with adobe, and after 20 mins of the guy thinking that I could not select more than one object, and him telling me to fix permissions, he finally tried it on his computer and it did not work on his computer either......
I just can't believe they would allow this to launch..... so bloody basic.....
We don't care about crazy AI features. We care about stable software to do our jobs everyday. Until AI can make decent full blown presentations we still need to be able to use this software.

Having this issue. Why change something this basic, that has been standard workflow since ... forever!? Doing my head in!

Basically the title says it all. I will select multiple images/objects but when I go to move them, only the one that my cursor is touching will stay selected and move. The work around is to select the objects, hold the shift key and then I'm able to move everything I have selected. This is annoying at best and causing disruptions in my workflow.
Any updates on a solution?

How much longer will it take to resolve this issue? I believe a partial refund for all affected users is in order, given that we are currently unable to work properly. This is extremely frustrating. It is unacceptable to release a new version containing such a basic, glaring error.
