An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedThere are similar problems with Monotype's Futura Now Variable and Helvetica Now Variable. These fonts work just fine in InDesign 18.5 but in InDesign 19.x they break as soon as one tries to adjust them via the sliders. The problems have been reported here https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/47344655-problem-with-variable-font-weights
But neither Adobe nor Monotype seem to care. No response so far from Adobe and Monotype responded to me something along the lines of "it is not our problem - we can't do anything" .Aris supported this idea · -

The fix of the issue is now available in the InDesign 2024(v19.1.0.043) and above. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.
If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedPre-release version 19.4.062 still broken!
Is there any official estimate on when will this be resolved?
I'm still using 18.5 because of this one font (Futura Now Var) that doesn't work.
It seems to me that the bug occurs only with Helvetica Now and Futura Now. Maybe they use some technology that is not correctly handled. An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedPre-release version 19.4.030 - unusable FuturaNow issue still UNRESOLVED!
An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedI installed today the pre-release version 19.4.030.
The issue with Futura Now Variable is STILL PRESENT.
So I'm still using InDesign 18 because I had been using Futura Now relatively often lately.
I also tried contacting Monotype's support but their response was really not what one would expect from a company that respects themselves!
Obviously the bug is in Adobe InDesign, but it definitely concerns Monotype's Futura Now and Helvetica Now (as I see from the previous comment and there are a lot of other variable fonts out there that are not affected. So there is some technical characteristic of these fonts that is involved in the bug.An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedThe pinned message says that the issue has been fixed in versions 19.1.x but this is not what I see. I have tested both 19.1.043 (now current ID 19 release) and the pre-release 19.2.0.43 and I still see the same problem with Futura Now Variable font. The sliders in InDesign still DO NOT work properly!
So I am still using v. 18 because I have used this font in several designs.
Needless to say it would be very useful to have some clarifications from Adobe. What is going on here?An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedJust tested the fresh prerelease version 19.2 with Futura Now font and same problem is there!
An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedI have tested up to the latest Pre-release version 19.1.0.43 and I see the bug has NOT been resolved. I test specifically with Futura Now variable font and I see the same behaviour with the sliders that do not work.
An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedNew prerelease version 19.1.042 shows same problematic behaviour (bug) with Futura Now Variable for me.
An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedAs per my tests the issue HAS NOT BEEN FIXED in the Pre-release version 19.1.0.37 as I have already noted this in my previous comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedI installed the Prerelease version (19.1, windows 10) but Monotype's Futura Now Var still doesn't work. Once you try to touch the sliders, the font style reverts to Text Condensed. The slider values stick only at the end positions of these sliders (min and max).
I don't see this problem with the few other variable fonts that I have installed. An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedFutura Now Variable is totally messed up. Other variable fonts with only a weight parameter become thin at the end of the scale where they should be extra bold.

An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedThat would be really helpful! Of course the before already exists but I can not find any straightforward way to add a frame break AFTER a certain style.

An error occurred while saving the comment Aris commentedI have the same issue with Num pad Key "3" and I have narrowed it down to one specific character style. When this style is present in a document, then Num pad 3 is not working.

It seems that variable font sliders in versions of InDesing 19+ are really probblematic. With some Monotype fonts like Futura Now they do not work at all! And no reply, no acknowledgement, no explanation has been given.
