2. [ID-4261015]Can't grab window

   When working on an InDesign file, when I need to grab the InDesign window (by clicking and dragging) and move it, I usually have to make three attempts before my mouse "catches" the window. InDesign 17.2, Mac Studio OS 12.3.1. It's very random when it works and not works, but mostly it doesn't work on the first attempt.

3. [ID-4261000]Hebrew Text with Vowel Points Reorders Incorrectly When Pasted from InDesign to Word

   When keying (or importing) Hebrew text, InDesign often misplaces vowel points when two or more vowel points are attached to a single base character unless the base character and vowel points are keyed in a specific order. I don't totally understand it, but it has something to do with Unicode normalization. Microsoft Word gets around this problem, but I can't say how. It would be nice, however, if InDesign could get around it, too.

   One Hebrew font, SBL Hebrew, has written Unicode features (?) to prevent the normalization problem, but most fonts cannot do this on their own in InDesign. Times New Roman, for example, sets fine in Word, but the same file in InDesign shows vowel points displaced. The user guide for SBL Hebrew (available easily online) explains the problem better than I can.

   Thanks for considering addressing this behavior.

4. Mouse very slow during mail merge

   When exporting to a PDF using Indesign Mail Merge, the mouse is very slow, even if in other programs. That makes the computer unusable during export of large PDF's.

   I found that only when the Windows Task Manager is on the front, the mouse acts normal again, but when I the Task Manager loses focus, the mouse is slow again.

   We have this problem on our Windows PC's. On my Mac it works fine.

   We use the latest Indesign (15.0.1)

5. arabic harakats moving

   Hi!

   There is interesting bug with arabic letters. When we have aleef-lyam-aleef with harakats + footnote references with more than one symbol (from 1 to 9, no problem, 10+ or (1), problems starts) on the line, harakats swap together. Have tried with multiple fonts, most of them (adobe font too) got this error.

   Tested this in 2014 and 2018 ME versions of Indesign.

   Hope you can easily fix it, cause it's a real problem for book publishing.

6. InDesign opens destination folder when exporting.

   My InDesign opens the destination folder when exporting PDF-files. In my work I export files daily and I have to export them separately. So when I do this, after the export has completed successfully, the destination folder opens up automatically, which is very annoying. I can't seem to find any place, where I can turn this off. I can only turn it ON, if I don't export separately.

   1. brand new update CC 2019
   2. Create a document with more than 2 pages. Export all the pages separately.
   3. That it exports the pages separately into the destination folder without having the need to watch them in that folder (I use Bridge).
   4. It opens the destination folder in a new folder window.

7. [ID-4261145] White Horizontal lines appear on InDesign Document after enabling "Overprint Preview"

   InDesign CC 13.1 x64

   In every document I open, everytime there's a single line in the top area of the document/artboard. It appears when you activate the

   Overprint Preview with high quality. Then InDesign generates a thin white line 1px thick and 101px away from the top of the document. It

   also keeps this position when I zoom in or out. Only if I begin to drag the view via the hand tool then the line is broken (obviously it

   has some trouble to refresh complete).
   The line generates on all pages no matter if there're images or graphics or text in the document on this page.

   I discover this problem on both mac (MacOS Sierra) and pc (Win7 Prof. SP1 64 Bit).

   You can only avoid this error by activate the ruler. Then the line disappears completely.

   This workaround could be ok for me but sometimes I want to review my creation in high quality without the rulers or anything else
   disturbing my view.
   But there's no way to do that. The white line is displayed also in the presantation view.

8. [ID-4261148] Character style "Include Html Class" check box removes the whole tag

   The "Include Classes in HTML" checkbox doesn't work for Character Styles. Whereas paragraph styles and object style export without the class, character styles actually export without the tag at all—losing any formatting for that style. This is the case both in HTML and EPUB export.

9. arabic

   Cursor Direction when typing Arabic or other RTL languages. in Middle Eastern version ONLY.

   1. All Middle Eastern versions (English يدعم العربية)

   2. Type Arabic text. Place the cursor within text. Hold "Shift" key and click on right arrow key on the keyboard to select/highlight text. Cursor moves left and select next character on the left while clicking on right arrow.

   3. To select a character to the left of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+left arrow) To select a character to the right of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+right arrow)

   4. What actually is happening now and for over 20 years when we had Adobe PageMaker ME and Adobe Illustrator ME is the opposite cursor behavior to the what we're trying to select. We hold (Shift+right arrow) cursor will move and select text to the left, we hold (Shift+left arrow) cursor will move and select text to the right.

10. "View PDF after exporting" previously opened acrobat, now my computer switches between opening Illustrator, Mircosoft Word, rarely Acrobat

    I've set my computer to use Acrobat as default, yet perhaps you could add an Application of choice to use when view exported PDF.

    Not sure if it's just a bug, but any fix would be welcome. Thank you!

11. Hunspell dictionaries cannot be added in Sierra or High Sierra

    Adding Hunspell dictionaries breaks code-signing, and results in the whole of InDesign's spelling system being sand-boxed by OSX.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. On High Sierra and InDesign CC, add a Hunspell dictionary, as detailed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/add_cs_dictionaries.html

    2. Spell-check any InDesign document using the new dictionary and spell-checking then becomes unusable, until InDesign is uninstalled then re-installed.

    The following types of errors are produced in the console, showing that it's a code-signing issue, caused by dictionaries being installed within the Hunspell plugin bundle.

    Can I suggest that there should be another place to install additional languages, outside the InDesign application.

    The only way I can work with Latin and Ancient Greek languages currently is to use an El Capitan Mac, which does not have the sandboxing.

    AMFI: Check-fix enabled for binary '/Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 2018/Resources/Dictionaries/LILO/Linguistics/Providers/Plugins2/AdobeHunspellPlugin.bundl e/Contents/MacOS/AdobeHunspellPlugin' with TeamID 'JQ525L2MZD', identifier 'com.adobe.adobehunspellplugin2': broken signature treated as unsigned without privileges. This workaround will not work for software built on or after 10.12.

12. [ID-4261359] Path ≠ line if you have a round arrow with an arrowhead as part of the path

    If you have a "round" arrow with the arrowhead as part of the path, the path (in my screenshot: blue) is no longer the same as the shown line of the arrow (black).
    This effect does not occur if the arrowhead is added to the path.

13. [ID-4272869] InDesign adds Blank space to top during PNG export for converted documents

    I booted up 2026 (version 21.0) and opened a file that I was working on literally yesterday. I have a text box over a solid fill background shape. When I exported them both together yesterday, it worked as expected. Today, it exports with an obnoxious blank space (or filled space if I uncheck "Transparent Background") at the top.

    Absolutely nothing changed with the file, it's just happening in 2026 and not in 2025. Comparison attached.

    Workaround: Export the document to IDML

14. [ID-4257194]page numbers on documents don't match page numbers in book window or pages pane

    Ever since InDesign updated from version 19.5 to version 20, the current page number marker on my master pages will not sync. Now, every document in my book just starts from page 1. So, in other words, every chapter starts over at page 1. Please help. I've included a screen grab of my problem. You'll see that the page numbers on the actual document don't match the page numbers indicated in the pages window or in the book window. I've redone the marker in the master pages and resynced, but no dice...

    Wird eine Buchdatei bearbeitet und geschlossen ohne das das Fenster Buch geöffnet ist, wird das Dokument mit dem Warnhinweis "Dokument wurde außerhalb des Buches bearbeitet" markiert.
    Dieser Fehler tritt nicht auf, wenn das Fenster Buch beim Schließen oder Speichern geöffnet bzw. angezeigt wird.
    Es ist kein Grund für dieses Verhalten zu erkennen. In den letzten ID Versionen trat dieser Effekt nicht auf.

18. Text wraps when replacing a swatch

    If I replace a swatch the text wraps at one place. It happens just with one color in the document... I doesn't matter which swatch I use for replacing... I never seen this before. I image how risky that is when you're replacing a swatch in a large project like a catalog and than somewhere in the document text is wraping...

19. Identical shapes on different layers end up different sizes when scaled together using the selection tool

    1) This bug occurred on InDesign cc2017 and CS6. 2) Follow these steps to replicate the bug: create a shape, let's say a circle, and then copy this circle and paste it in a separate layer directly over the top of the first. To better see the effects of the bug, make the fill of the top circle red, and the bottom blue. At this point, the bottom blue circle is completely hidden by the red circle above it. Now put a 4pt stroke with an outside alignment on the bottom blue circle. The blue circle is still hidden, and now it appears as if the red circle on top has a stroke. Before making any changes to the shapes, make sure the Dimensions Include Stroke Weight and Adjust Stroke Weight when Scaling are DESELECTED in the Transform panel options. Make sure both the Info palette and the Transform palette are visible so you can read the starting and ending measurements in both palettes. Using the selection tool, select BOTH circles together, and then pull on any corner to enlarge the two shapes together. 3) EXPECTED RESULT: the two shapes should scale together. They start with the equal measurements in both the Info and Transform palettes, and once scaled, the shapes and the measurements should still read as being equal (albeit larger) sizes. 4) THE ACTUAL RESULT: the two shapes are different sizes after scaling. Remember that Dimensions Include Stroke Weight was deselected, so the stroke shouldn’t have any effect on the shape size, and yet, the bottom shape is slightly bigger than the top. Not only is the blue circle now clearly visible and peeking out from beneath the red circle, but the Info and Transform palettes read TWO different sizes.     1) This bug occurred on InDesign cc2017 and CS6. 2) Follow these steps to replicate the bug: create a shape, let's say a circle, and then copy this circle and paste it in a separate layer directly over the top of the first. 20. Endnotes are tagged incorrectly when exporting to Accessible PDF from InDesign 2021

    In InDesign 2021, endnotes are not nested inside of a <Note> tag like they should be. Now only the Endnote number is in a <Note> tag and everything else is in a <P> tag. Normal behavior is to put each Endnote in its entirety within a <Note> tag. In addition, for several versions Endnotes and Footnotes are in a <Note> tag but then there's a <P> tag within the <Note> tag. The <P> tag is unnecessary and causes an error when trying to validate Accessible PDF. Please remove the <P> tag within <Note> tags when exporting to tagged PDF.
