2. Paper color should be RGB when document is RGB

   When I create a new INDD in RGB or convert from CMYK to RGB, the formula for the [Paper] swatch should change with it. Currently the [Paper] swatch is CMYK. This is causing an issue whenever I create a gradient from a vibrant RGB color to [Paper]. The vibrant color gets muddled down to the look of a CMYK conversion. The workaround I've been using is to create a custom white swatch for the gradient, or manually convert [Paper] to RGB. Both workarounds are less than ideal: having a second white swatch in the file may lead to confusion down the line or when other users pick up my file, and when modifying the [Paper] swatch to RGB it doesn't change back to CMYK when going the other direction so it may also create problems down the line if a file is picked up and reworked.

3. paragraph style options "Bullet or Number position"

   Hello,
   I am contacting you regarding a problem with the new version of InDesigns’ (version 18.0).
   The problem is that using the "Bullet or Number position" in “Paragraph style options” to change the size of a column in a table, results in the text disappearing.

4. [BUG] Export file to remote server cause Indesign & Finder crash

   Indesign 18.1 on Ventura 13.0
   If I export a file (PDF, JPG, ...) on remote location and then click on it in finder, InDesign and Finder crashes and I must restart computer.
   But if I export to local location, everything works fine.

   So now I must export local and then copy exported file to our remote share server. :(

5. Selection extends in wrong direction - all other thext editors are doing well, except InDesign

   There is a very annoying behavior in InDesign - when using the Shift+Arrow keys to extend the selection, the selection grows in a wrong direction.
   To reproduce:
   1. Click and drag the text cursor to select text.
   2. Shift + Arrow left to make the selection smaller.
   Bug: the selection starts to grow/shrink AT THE BEGINNING OF SELECTION, not at the end of the selection.
   Why is this a problem?
   When selecting text, the cursor must be left where the mouse button is released. If selecting from left to right, the cursor must be left at the end of the selection. Therefore, Shift+Arrow key must grow/shrink the selection at the end. InDesign does in an unexpected way, it leaves the cursor at the beginning of the selection!
   BTW the cursor movement after selecting text is a random mess:
   - Shift + Left arrow - extends the selection to the left
   - after this: Shift + Right arrow extends the selection to the right
   - after this: Shift + Left arrow shrinks the selection on the right (... ?)

   The correct behavior (see practically all editors on this Earth, those all work correctly):
   - When releasing the cursor at the beginning of the selection (selecting from right to left), Shift + Arrow keys grow/shrink the selection at the beginning (on the left side).
   - When releasing the cursor at the end of the selection (selecting from left to right), Shift + Arrow keys grow/shrink the selection at the end (on the right side).

6. Font distortion in SVG files imported from Illustrator

   InDesign version 18.1 has a bug when importing svg images made in Illustrator; the fonts used in the svg files are distorted.
   When I had exported the svg files in Illustrator, I chose "save as" and SVG Options: Subsetting > "All Glyphs" to make sure the fonts remained accurate when placed in InDesign, and this has always worked until version 18.1. When I went back to version 18 and opened the file, the fonts were back to normal.

7. Paragraph values not appearing – SOLUTION

   Paragraph values not showing in panel when text is selected.

   SOLUTION I use is to hide options then show options which resets panel, rather than quit and restart InDesign or reboot Mac.

9. Export does not work in InDesign 18.1

   Often, Export does not work when I have been working with a document (typically 60-120 minutes). The application has to be quit and restarted; Export will then work. Version 18.1; macOS 12.6.2

12. Grey outlines around pictures in Publish Online

    About 1/7 of every picture has grey lines partially surrounding it, but only when I publish online. Not when I export as PDF. There's plenty of image available beyond the edges of the image box, so I don't know why it does this.

13. table of contents not displaying items in tables with headers/footers

    The Layout/TOC feature does not include items in tables (that have headers/footers). If a table has a header/footer, the TOC just skips over the item, and goes onto the next one. When creating the TOC, it asks me if I would like to "include items in overset text?". There is never any overset text in the document, so when I click NO, the TOC skips over the table items. If I click YES, the items in the table get repeated over and over again in the TOC.

14. Font display issue with certain fonts in images from clipboard (18.1 x64)

    We use a charting service called Macrobond, and copy images from that software to insert in InDesign. The following buggy behavior is observed:

    When using certain fonts in the chart, the pasted image in InDesign displays those fonts in miniscule sizes. That does not happen with other fonts fonts.

    I suspect the issue stems from different ways in which InDesign handles the various fonts based on whether they are included or third-party (or perhaps depending if they are installed locally on the PC or is fetched from the Adobe library).

    In this example the first image shows a problematic chart using Arial Regular and Arial Bold Italic.

    The second image shows the chart using variations on the Myriad Pro font installed manually on the PC. Both charts were inserted into InDesign using the same method: copying the chart in Macrobond and pasting it into InDesign.

    Similar errors are exhibited when using Adobe Acrobat to generate PDFs in PowerPoint based on those same types of images with the same problematic fonts, so is not isolated to InDesign.

15. ScirptUI: in events `app.activate();` doesn’t work on Mac

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    * Build a ScriptUI palette with a button (or any other element).
    * Give the button a .onClick event with a app.activate; to give the programm’s focus back to InDesign.
    * Try to perform an InDesign shortcut (such as "command f" to show the built-in find dialog or any other you prefer).

    Expected result
    The focus of the programm should be given back to InDesign and the called action in InDesign should be performed (such as showing the find dialog).

    Actual result
    The focus remains on the ScriptUI palette and nothing happens.

16. 'Delete Empty Pages' in InDesign preferences does not recognize content on parent page

    When 'Delete Empty Pages' in InDesign is checked within preferences (found in the 'Type' tab) it does not recognize content on a parent page. Personally, I think if there is type on a parent and it is applied to a page(s), the page(s) should not be considered empty and automatically deleted.

17. Margins outside page bounds

    In the new New Document setup dialog it is possible to set margins larger than the page dimensions which results in Margins outside the page area. This does not happen with the legacy dialog.

18. Disappearing caption text

    When adding text to an existing caption in Adobe InDesign 2023, the entire caption disappears. To solve, I can widen the caption box, which our client's formatting specs do not allow, or adjust the text frame options to ignore text wrap, which distorts the horizontal scale of the text. How can I add text to captions without having to change my caption text box's layout?

19. Adobe PDR printer settings option missing

    Hello dear Adobe team,
    my problem is as following: When printing Booklet in my custom settings I am missing Adobe PDF printer option. I cant even install Adobe printer from control panel as suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/add-pdf-printer-manually.html because there is no Adobe PDF option in "Use existing port" option. Could you please help me with this? I am also adding a few screenshots of the problem.
