Indic script rendering issue
It seems that Indic Scripts should be supported by default in InDesign, without having to separately check boxes in preferences or select "World Ready Paragraph Composer" in the paragraph window's menu.

will not find/change text in locked boxes. why is there an option to find/changed locked text if it does not work?
My idea is if you have a feature in the find/change panel that ostensibly allows you to find and change text in locked layers or boxes....that it should work to change the text! Trying to change locked section heds, but the feature won't find and change them unless they are unlocked. Which. IS. Not. Helpful.

Using current version of InDesign (2018). Everything up-to-date.
Headers disappear on 2nd page of copied tables. Similar to problem seen
This happens every time a copied table goes to 2 or more pages.
Tried resizing frame but nothing changed. Attempted to install 2017 fix file but will not load.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

type shifting
Type in indesign 13.1 constantly shifting - it as though there is a text wrap that causes it to "bump down" a space. There is no rhyme or reason to it - it is happening every time I pace a text box. SOMETIMES zooming out will fix it, but is is a real drag to not have WYSIWYG. Annoying

Text box adds extra space...?
Text Boxes are adding extra space. I do not have any space after or tabs or anything else in my paragraphs.
I am very keen on having all my text boxes fit to perfect size especially for this file because I am creating a fillable form and don't want oversized text boxes. I also keep them to their size to make sure everything is perfect.

Dynamic spelling doesn't find repeated word with initial capital letter
It became apparent yesterday, unfortunately after a brochure had been printed, that InDesign doesn't flag repeated words when one of them starts with a capital letter and, in this case the company has ended up paying for a reprint. Although several people had proof checked the brochure, nobody had noticed and I only had time to view with dynamic spelling, rather than reading the whole thing. Is this a feature for some reason? Personally I'd rather it be flagged with or without caps and be able to make a judgement myself if time is short.

First baseline offset not being applied
More than half the time that I try to change the First Baseline Offset in the Text Frame Options panel, the default setting (Ascent) will not change. When I select a different option from the drop-down menu, such as Leading, Ascent stays selected (before I'm even given the chance to click "OK" or "Cancel"). The only solution I've found to this problem is quitting InDesign and reopening it again and again.

inverting years automatically
inverting years
I'm working on a book about archaeology and just noticed that in a text indesign switched years in a date before BC, It should be 1650-1050 and it switches automatically to 1050-1650, is this a bug or is it some preferences that make this happen? Thanks1 vote -

Bad tabulation behavior in ID 13.1
The filling caracter (.) of a tabulation disappears in function of the value of the 1st line spacing without any reason at all. Please watch the video attached to this bug report. This is a big issue absent in previous versions.

Several years old bug is still alive in InDesign CC
InDesign CC shows obscure behavior for Arabic subtending marks. Some times it kerns these marks towards right as shown in line 1, 3 & 4. Sometimes it adds extra space on both sides of these glyphs as shown in the line five and sometimes it automatically makes the digits size smaller as shown in line 1 & 2. While MS Word 2013 shows the correct shapes for all these marks as required. The Arabic script is written in right to left direction.

Clearly a bug in InDesign CC
While working on an Arabic font I need to kern the space U+0020 between certain letters. So the required lookup is added to the font, with instructions to apply kerning whether the preceding letter have marks (above or below) or no marks at all i.e. the kerning is not effected by the preceding letter's marks. The Arabic script is written in right to left direction.
Now the MS Word is showing the correct behavior as shown in the image. The first pair (without marks) and the second pair (with brown marks) both are kerned as instructed by font but the…

Till yet InDesign CC does not recognize some common Arabic Marks
Till yet InDesign CC does not recognize some commonly used Quranic Arabic marks like uni08F0, uni08F1 and uni0F82, though these are added to Unicode several years ago. Images, test file and test font "Uthman" are added.
First image shows these marks.
Second image shows their correct placement above or below the letters in MS Word and the wrong result in InDesign CC.
Test font "Uthman" and test indesign document are attached.1 vote -
Control characters breaks 'regular' font rendering
I pasted some cells from Excel into an Indesign text box. After that, the text rendering was completely distorted garbage text). Worse, I couldn't select the "Roman" font anymore, in any open document. Upon testing, that included many "normal" fonts like Georgia Regular, Minion Pro Regular and Warnock Pro Regular. I tried switching to International English MacOS and Indesign, I tried several versions from Indesign 13.1 back to CS6, and on Mac and Windows – same thing.
Finally, I discovered the control characters in the Layout text editor, and when I removed them (and restarted Indesign), everything was back to normal.

space
I use a personal shortcut for "insert 1/8 quarter space" since many, many years. Doesn't work since InDesign CC 2018 (but is designed in shortcuts-list): NOTHING happens while pressing my definied keys.
===============
cannot copy/paste endnotes into new doc
We cannot copy endnotes from one Indesign file to another without losing the numbers and getting [?] instead. Also, the endnotes insist on being on a new page; we cannot bring them up to be under the text

Cannot enter text size if document is on second display
When using 2 displays, if the document is not on the same page as the menu bar, typing a new text size in the text-size field does not work. Moving the document to the same page as the application frame makes the bug go away.

InDesign CC 2018 ME text frame problem
InDesign CC ME 2018
I work with international magazine. Usually I work with English text but once i a while I have to do some Arabic content. I installed Indesign CC 2018 ME on my machine and it works perfectly well except. When I create a new document in InDesign CC ME which is normal meaning reads from left to right and try to place a doc document into it text frame appears to be right to left and this issue is totally inconvenient.

character panel and control panel don't match
I've noticed sometimes when changing the font in one panel, the other does not reflect the change—they should always be in sync. The change does not occur on the document either—until both panels are manually made to match. So it appears 'Character' settings in the Control Panel are behaving independent of the floating Character Panel. These are mac installed fonts. Not Typekit.
