InDesign CC 2019 - font error issues with PDFs
When latest InDesign CC 2019 creates a PDF using certain fonts, an error message appears when opening PDF in Acrobat Pro DC: "Cannot extract the embedded font 'JLUSWO+fontname'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."
Never had this issue with previous InDesign versions. The same PDF opens, views and prints perfectly in Preview. Creating PDFs by other applications with the same font are fine.
HELP!

indesign export to pdf unusable for Thai
Basically all the diacritics are messed up, regardless of font used. The PDF looks fine but the text if copied from the PdF is garbled.
This is in 16.2.1 (2021). It was working in 2019.4 votes -
export to PDF from latest InDesign 2020 results in pixelated PNG or JPG images
Upgrading from 15.0 to 15.1 versions of InDesign CC breaks PDF exporting of PNG or JPG images. Images now appear pixelated and low res no matter how high the original resolution of the image is, even when exported at 300 dpi (Print Quality settings). PNG and JPG images are flat with no transparency.

export folder
Just installed InDesign CC 2020 and I cannot export to the recent folders. The same folder appears no matter which recent place I choose. I don't even remember saving anything to the folder that shows up.
See what is happening here. Any help would be great so I don't have to navigate through a million folders to save and export my work.

Do not tag numbered headings as a list item
Unfortunately, the “Tagging Export” option within the paragraph style options getting ignored if the numbering options in the section “Bullets and Numbering” are set as well. Therefore, it’s not possible to use automatically numbered headings and getting a correct tagging structure. On the other hand it’s a good thing that lists are automatically tagged as a list. However, it should not override the export tag a user defined.
Please take that accessibility issue seriously and fix it as soon as possible.

Selecting 'No language' from styles advanced options really exports the tag to EN in PDF
When you have a document with multiple languages and the main language isn't available in InDesign's presets, ie the document is mainly in Kirundi or Samoan and there are some English phrases, a user should be able to select 'No language' from the style's advanced options. Instead, 'No language' will export as EN and the tag in the PDF will have EN listed as the language in the tag's properties. This is problematic because the tag's language will override the document's language properties. This is a clear failure of WCAG SC 3.1.2 (language of parts).

InDesign 2019 Begins failing to export PDFs after short period of operating
InDesign 2019 | Mac OS Mojave
After a short period of time InDesign Fails anytime I try to export a PDF. I get the Error notification and just a Failed to export message. Restarting InDesign does not fix this, however if I restart my entire machine (enormous, frustrating pain in my workflow) it resume saving PDFs for a short period of time and them begin failing again until the next restart.
No other Software is having this issue, Adobe or otherwise.

InDesign produces 'failed to open the pdf file' error when importing pdf with dotted lines
Using InDesign v13.1 on a MacBook Air (12 inch, 2017) running iOS 10.13, importing a .pdf generated using attached MS Powerpoint file LA02examplerunFigure.pptx resulted in 'failed to open the pdf file' error if the lines added to the graphic are dotted lines as shown (see attachment). Changing these lines to solid lines before exporting to .pdf solved this (see 'LA02examplerunFigure(noDotted).pptx). Upon experimentation, addition of any dotted line to the graphic in Powerpoint results in this error when the file is exported to a .pdf and imported to InDesign.

Data Merge - Can't preview without errors
The apparently long-running Data Merge previewing error!
Occasionally previewing a data merge will permanently ruin exports. The only solution is to create a new document. Happened to me on almost every project I tried - wasted hours and hours.
See this thread and video for more information:

Table cells tagged as form fields do not get tagged when using the Articles panel in an accessible PDF file.
If you convert a table cell to a graphic cell and then make it an interactive form field, if you use the Articles panel to control the order, the form fields do not get tagged.
1.) Create a table
2.) Select a cell and choose Table > Convert to Graphic Cell
3.) Open the articles panel and drag the frame containing the table to the Articles panel to create a new article.
4.) Enable "Use for Reading order in tagged PDF" from the Articles panel menu.
5.) Export to interactive PDF with tags enabled.Result: If you open the PDF…

Indesign will not tag endnotes to XML
When Adding untagged items to the Structure, Indesign promptly states that Endnotes are not supported for XML tagging. I use XML tagging process for creating reliable Accessible WCAG compliant PDFs, and other export requirements. Please make Endnotes USEFUL - 1. keep in same story (not an additional frame) and make tagging process available.
OR... a way to convert endnotes to linked cross references - even in tables!
Tables if Indesign worst thought when it comes to footnotes and endnotes.4 votes -
Data Merge to PDF (using the new single page export feature) does not work properly
Using the packaged folder attached, go to the Data Merge panel and select Export to PDF. Click OK on the first dialog box and in the second dialog box, make sure the "Create Separate PDF files" checkbox is checked.
Expected result - 6 PDFs that have correct content in each PDF.
Actual result - 6 PDFs that have incorrect content. PDF 1 is fine, but PDFs 2-6 are the same content as PDF 2.4 votesThis issue was fixed in an earlier release of InDesign.
Marking this as Fixed.—

Tagged artifacts are not propery exported to PDF
- CC 2017.1
- Create an InDesign Document with correct tagging, articles, etc. Spend hours because there is no simple way doing this without expensive plugins. Our small monthly payment is used to include more important functions like Stock-Photos. Export PDF, correct some minor errors and check it with PAC. You´ll get many Content errors, because artifacts are not properly tagged. Try to solve it in Acrobat with the tags/order/...-panel. Spend more hours with vanishing objects and many other amusing bugs. Find the Preflight-Tool to tag all objects at once.
- Correct tagging while generating the PDF.
- Lost my mind ... Please overhaul…

indesign export
I export a pdf and then decide I want to make a tweak. So I tweak the indesign file, re-export my pdf, and then the pdf doesn't update the preview! I have to re-export TWICE in order for the pdf to be updated. Anybody else having this problem?

Critical Bug with Font embedding on PDF Export - InDesign 17.2 and up
OS: Windows 10
Version: InDesign 17.2 and 17.2.1After the update to 17.2 and 17.2.1 the font embedding is not working properly anymore on PDF Export. It does not matter if we export to PDF/X-3 or smallest file size.
The font in question here is Roboto Slab.
After a downgrade to 17.1 everything worked properly. An upgrade to 17.2.1 again produced the same error.Expected result: propper font integration
Actual result: Missing embedded font, text is torn apart, missing charactersPlease see attached images for export result and error message
