InDesign 16.0 saves Converted files in last used folder, not containing folder
On Catalina OSX (10.15.7), InDesign 2021 (16.0) saves a Converted file to the last used Finder folder, rather than the folder the document is contained in.
Happens with 'Save As...', as well as saving InCopy assignments.
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.0.1.
Please update to this version to get the fix.

Please consider this post an "Upvote" on fixing this bug. It is very time-consuming. At the very least, the GUI should provide under PREFERENCES an option that would allow the path of an active file to be displayed. I draw files from 100+ directories, all with date/names that are identical to the date/names of files in other directories.

Can we get an estimate on when this will be fixed?
This is an incredibly frustrating bug. I'm ending up with files being saved all over the place. It's making it nearly impossible to keep track of the latest versions of my work. I'm having to second guess everything I do.

Happens with doing a quick save too with Ctrl S... Which defeats the point of a quick save.

This issue appears to be the same for the latest versions of Illustrator and Photoshop, also.
I opened a PDF file in Photoshop, and saved as a jpg, and could not find my file. If it wasn't for the "Recent files" in Photoshop, I would still be looking for it. -

This is a disaster. I'm looking into other options instead of InDesign. This is a major time wasting problem.

Rule Number One while using Adobe Products with updates as we go forward from recent years . . .
SLOW DOWN!
Seems counter productive for those of us with actual workloads who need to move things along, but geez,
you never know when you're going to run into a snake in the grass. Apparently the developers have one massive folder that holds everything they have ever done !Oops, didn't mean to be anonymous, missed that box ~ Gil

Seriously considering rolling back updates because of this... except that'd be a pain too, since a lot of our files are already converted and would have to be down-converted again. I appreciate that the admins have said they're looking into it... let's hope they actually release a fix soon. InDesign v16, CC2021 on MacOS 10.15.7

Highly irritating to now be able to find where save went and having to go through the gymnastics of finding the correct folder to save in! PLEASE FIX this! I shouldn't have upgraded . . .
