When we update from InDesign 18.5 to InDesign 19.0, the conversion of documents happen. The document is opened and the user needs to save it. We have to save the document and the same folder from where 18.5 document is opened will be seen. For export workflow without saving the document, export will point to Documents folder.

It seems to make no difference if it is a single page simple document, or a multi-page document with many links. I can select text, and have to wait for the application to catch up. I use this in Production, and need an application that can keep up with me !
This seems to be just like Acrobat. Slow launches, and sluggish performance in the application.

Same result in Windows 10 Pro, running InDesign version 17.3 x64
Almost unusable, when trying to Preflight files where the file creator doesn't understand the need for fonts, to accompany their job. Trying to switch between jobs that have missing fonts to jobs that contain all of the fonts, takes about a minute.
My InDesign file does contain Mac Type 1 Suitcase fonts, that are missing on my Windows platform. Not sure if the missig Mac Suitcase fonts make a difference, or if it's any missing font causing the problem.

This issue appears to be the same for the latest versions of Illustrator and Photoshop, also.
I opened a PDF file in Photoshop, and saved as a jpg, and could not find my file. If it wasn't for the "Recent files" in Photoshop, I would still be looking for it.
