The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.0.1.

Please consider this post an "Upvote" on fixing this bug. It is very time-consuming. At the very least, the GUI should provide under PREFERENCES an option that would allow the path of an active file to be displayed. I draw files from 100+ directories, all with date/names that are identical to the date/names of files in other directories.

Consider this post an "Upvote" on fixing this bug. It is very time-consuming. At the very least, the GUI should provide under PREFERENCES an option that would allow the path of an active file to be displayed. Ver 16.1 x64 - When Show Home Screen is selected in General Preferences, it does not display recent files, will not respond to File > New > Document, requires re-start of program to resume without Home Screen. Actually, most of the top menu bar is buggy.
