Problem with changing the cursor to text

Hello. After running the latest version of InDesign CC 2019 v. 14.0, I have a problem with changing the cursor to text. It takes about 50 seconds. This happens each time you launch InDesign.

Hello All,

Thank you for your patience all this while.
This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.

    Here the same problem.
    Open InDesign. Open first document. Click on Text....freeze 1 minute.
    Without closing InDesign and open second file. No problem with the text. No freeze.

    Win10 1803 ... same problem. Observed 20%+ cpu busy (probably 1 quad 100%) for duration of hangup.

    Having the same issue each time I do a major change to the document or link an image or open a new tool, InDesign freezes for a short time. Indesign 14.0 x 64 on Win 10.

    Same issue with the type tool freezing (v14.0 on Windows 10)
    Also, while waiting for inDesign to unfreeze, it sounds like my laptop is about to take off and Task Manager shows it's taking more than 25% of my processor power (while doing nothing).

    Same issue... InDesign doesn't answer and the cursor stay blocked when I want to change the text.

    I have noticed it mostly happens where different font styles come together or when there are tabs or em-dashes involved.

    Oh, this happens in both my desktop and laptop... both are Windows 10.

    Type tool is lagging in the 2019 version of InDesign.

    My computer is running fine but InDesign just freezes when I try to use the type tool.

    I tried to double click into a text frame to type but it didn't do anything for a good while. Then I tried double clicking into it again and again and left it for a bit again. Then maybe a min. later it started highlighting over and over again because of those double clicking. This is not acceptable for a latest version of InDesign.

    And it isn't like I have a bad computer either.

    InDesign 2018 which is v 13.1 works very fine.

    I have the same problem. It does not matter which InDesign file I open (big or small) the program hangs for about 45 seconds when I click on a text box.

    Happens first time loading the tool, hangs ~ 1 minute, then is fine. Doesn't happen on other computers I have available.

    MacOS Mohave 10.14, InDesign 2019 14.0

    Yes, this is happening to me and my entire marketing team. It always freezes the instant we try to click a text box for the first time after opening something, and it'll randomly freeze after that for anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. I seem to recall that this happened with an update a few years ago and it was just as frustrating.

    Yes, same problem here... and now paragraph styles isn't working correctly. I have to manually change the font style every time.

    When selecting the "type" tool in NEW Indesign - will crash/freeze for about 10 seconds every single time.

    Mine is also freezing when I click on the TEXT tool. It is annoying. Please fix it!
