  1. Duden-Hyphenation changes the language in preferences

After setting Duden hyphenation in Preferences, the next time the menu is opened, it will change to "1996 Alte Rechtschreibung" instead of "2006 Neue Rechtschreibung". (only on WIN-machines?!?)

  2. Pages/spread overlapping after changing page size

    InDesign 2018 CC 13.0.1

Pages and spreads are doing weird things when I resize my document. It creates some odd margin after resize of pages. I start out with 2 pages, document shuffling allowed, facing pages turned off.

Page_spread_01_112617 - shows the page spread I was working with; each page is 10”x12.25”.
Page_spread_02_112617 - after I changed the size to 10.68”x11.239” for another ad spread, a weird margin showed up. The content boxes show how there is an odd overlap; each box is 10.68" wide.
Page_spread_03_112617 - If I move page 2 down in the Pages panel, and realign it…

  4. Adding htmlItem then closing document crashes inDesign on Mac

We are developping a plugin for inDesign and while testing a new feature on a Mac we noticed that sometimes InDesign was crashing. We managed to reproduce this bug in a very simple indesign script that make inDesign crash 100% of the time and I'm looking for a way to get around this inDesign bug.

The crash occurs when we programatically add an htmlItem to a pageItem then close the document too quicky, It's only on Mac, doing that on windows works perfectly. The crash error seems to be a memory usage problem on inDesign's side.

    Here is the script…

  5. windows 10 - paste number from clipboard history into X/Y-object coordinates

    How to repeat the issue:

    0. Activate Clipboard history in windows settings (win 10)
    1. Copy a random number to your clipboard (my testnumber "-2,375")
    2. Create a new document and place a rectangle (or random object) on your page
    3. Select the object and click (focus) in the field for the y-coordinates
    4. hit "windows+V" to open your clipboard history (must be activated in the settings)
    5. Click on your previous copied number.

6-Bug. The number has been pasted two times in the y-coordinates field.

    Test system:
    - Win 10 pro (1809)
    - current Indesign CC version (how to…

  6. Crash when working with book TOC

I have a book with 10 chapters. I created a TOC earlier and left it for a few months while working on the chapters. When I try to update the TOC, the program crashes. I've tried the create new TOC files. Same result.
Same issue on both desktop and laptop.

  7. Bug: Mac AppleScript change text returns replacement except last character

Search ("find what") and replace ("change to") does not return the expected results when replacing text. It truncates the replacement by one character.

    Steps to reproduce
    1. Create a new InDesign file (see attached test.indd)
    2. Create a text box
    3. Add text in the text box including the word "test"
    4. Run the following script (see attached) test.scpt
    5. Expected the return results to be "foo" but it returns "fo"

tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2019"
set find text preferences to nothing
set change text preferences to nothing
    set properties of find text preferences to {find what:"test"}
    set properties…

  8. Creating New Hyperlink - doesn’t copy the full selected URL

    InDesign CC 13.1
    Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.6

I discovered this lately due to client complaining about URLs not working after export to PDF.

As per my video, I select the full URL in the text box, select New Hyperlink, and the field doesn’t populate with full URL.
After some testing, the cut off point seems to be random and don’t happen specifically at hyphens or periods.

Whether the URL flows to multiple lines or is on the same line, I get the same result.

What is causing this? This is a big issue since I work on documents that…

Thanks for reporting this issue. We’re going to look into it.

For now though, you can use this workaround to overcome this issue:
After you select the URL text and before you choose Hyperlinks→New Hyperlink, hit Cmd-C (to Copy the entire string) and then in the New Hyperlink dialog box, select the URL string that is displayed and hit Cmd-V (Paste).
This will replace the truncated URL with the complete URL that you just pasted.

    Hope this helps.

  9. Crash when placing DOCX with paragraphStyles

    Version: InDesign 14.0.1, macOS 10.14.3

    Steps:
    1. Open attached InDesign document (please rename .jpg in .indd, there was a bug while uploading the file)
    2. Place "ThisDocumentHasParagraphStyles.docx" in the document
    3. InDesign crashes :-(

It seems it has something to do with the ParagraphStyles that are in the Word document. If I try to place the DOCX file named "ThisDocumentDOESNTHaveParagraphStyles.docx", then InDesign doesn't crash.

Attached is a screen video capture of the process (rename .jpg in .mp4 please)

    Please help!

  10. Turning facing pages back on makes first Master page a spread

This is a new issue that did not exist before: 1. I have a facing-page document with single Master pages (one for the left and one for the right). see "step-1.jpg"
    2. I turn off facing pages. see "step-2.jpg" 3. I turn on facing pages again and it automatically turns the first Master page into a spread (which in-turn alters the layout of the entire document). see "step-3.jpg" How do I fix this so that re-checking facing pages keeps that Master pages as singles?

  11. PDF Comments Insert Issues

PDF Comments do not insert at the correct location when the Insert is marked at the start or the end of a paragraph. The insert at the start of the paragraph instead gets inserted at the end of the previous paragraph. The insert at the end of a paragraph instead gets inserted *before* the final character (tested with period and question mark and happened with both).

  12. Margins – Irrelevant error message

    CC2019 14.0.1 MacOS
If I have a custom size page in the document (with it's own custom margins), that is smaller than the documents default margins – I get an error message every time I make InD active.

    To repoduce:
-Make new document – A4 with 20 mm margins
    -Add one page
-Change margins on new page to 0 mm
-Change with of new page to 10 mm width
    -Hide InDesign
-Reactivate InDesign – Error message shown

  13. InDesign hangs while exporting to ICML

CC 2018 – ICML Export is hanging when trying to export.

See attached example file*, the text box highlighted on page 4 is what is causing the problem. In the export file produced (if this box is removed) the other boxes are incorrectly formatted.

    * An .indd or .idml file was not allowed so unable to attach this but can provide if required.

  14. False layer gets duplicated through context menu

If for example layer 1 is selected in the layers panel and layer 2 is right-clicked, the context menu for layer 2 appears. If you choose to duplicate the layer 2, the selected layer 1 gets duplicated. Deleting works as expected.

  15. crash when deleting line

InDesign crashes on selecting a specific line in TOC

Hi! When trying to delete some lines in the TOC, some lines cause crashes. For one line it seems impossible to delete it. When selecting the line or the space the cursor freezes within seconds and a crash report appears.
On reopening the file an error message appears, though the file can be opened.
Attached are two screenshots and the file.
    Regards,
    Peter

  16. Anchored object in table cell

    1. InDesign version 13.1
    2. Paste anchored object next to text inside in table cell.
    3. Anchored object acts as normal as if pasted in a normal paragraph.
    4. InDesign stalls and crashes; have to force quit to close.

  17. merging cells in a table

I am trying to create a 9x12 horizontal postcard with 4 vertical columns and 5 horizontal rows. Then I merge cells to create different size ad boxes. By the time I get to the last merge, it pulls everything up and looks like it is adding another row at the bottom. For example: merge the whole bottom row into one ad box; merge the right column 4 boxes into one ad box; merge the left 3 boxes beginning from the top into one ad box; merge the center 6 boxes into one large ad box. So, there should be a…

  18. text wrap detect edges

    ID 13.1 x64, Win 7, AI 22.1 64 bit
Text wrap w/detect edges may not detect text in AI file, may not detect shapes well. Have AI file with graphic and text placed in anchored frame in ID doc. If set to wrap around shape, detect edges, text in ID doc runs through text in AI graphic. Also (noted in in forums ) text may not wrap around white or nearly white shapes in AI graphic.

  19. Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs

    Hi,

Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs act erratically in latest InCopy (13.1) on Mac and Windows: contrary to all other apps and InDesign Story Editor, they delete words from seemingly random side of the cursor.

    See https://forums.adobe.com/message/10524905

Actual result: Cmd+Del often deletes from left hand side, Cmd+Backspace often deletes from right hand side of the cursor.

Expected result: Cmd/Ctrl+Del always deletes the word to the right of the cursor; Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace always deletes a word from to the left of the cursor.

    Regards
    m.

  20. InDesign crashes while working with Hyperlink

For some reason there is 1 page number on my TOC that keeps making Indesign crash when I try applying a hyperlink to it. Everything else hyperlinked just fine. Also, I tried to delete the text so I could maybe retype the number but that also makes my application crash.
