  1. SVG Font Designation Not Shown in Find Font

If a font is an SVG font, InDesign shows the square box "SVG" designation in the font dropdown. However, if you view the font info under Find Font (Type>Find Font), the font type does not show as SVG. There is no way to determine if an SVG font was used in the file other than to view in the font dropdown. That is a problem as SVG fonts are not supported in PDF yet and will not be caught by preflight. Can the SVG designation be added to the Find Font info screen?

  2. InDesign crashes on launch with Faulty module "PMRuntime" unless launched as Administrator or Creative Cloud Application

Issue: InDesign CC will not open from the Start Menu unless "Run as administrator" is selected. This is not an option for standard users.

It will open OK from the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Event viewer log is generated showing the following:
Faulting application name: InDesign.exe, version 13.1.0.76
Faulting module name: PMRuntime.dll, version 5.0.0.191

    1.
    Version: InDesign CC 2018, 13.1.076
    Also occurs with version 12.1.0.56
Windows OS: Windows 10, version 1803 (Build 17134.165)

    2.
Select InDesign CC from the start menu. The application does not open and no messages appear. Check Event Viewer > Application to see the error.

    There…

  3. Can't delete InDesign color swatch

Documents inherit a swatch from a picked-up file and the swatch can not be deleted.

    1) This problem has existed for us since at least InDesign CS4 and persists through the current CC 2018 build (13.1).

    2) In the attached file, "Select All Unused" in the Swatches panel. There is no content at all in the file. All objects have been deleted, as have all text and object styles. Try to delete the unused process color swatch, "C=80 M=76 Y=70 K=73."

    3) We expect the unused swatch to be deleted.

    4) Trash can icon in Swatches panel is grayed out…

  4. World-Ready composer breaks hyperlinks for Publish Online

When the WR composer is applied to text, it breaks hyperlinks when the document is published via Publish Online. The hyperlinks work fine when the document is sent to PDF. The hyperlinks work fine when the WR composer is changed to the Adobe Paragraph Composer.
This is to correct the title of this bug report, please reference it: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/33786565-publish-online-breaks-hyperlinks

World-Ready composer is not well supported in Fixed Layout EPUBs and Published documents from InDesign.

I would suggest everyone to vote for the issue on UserVoice if it impacts you to make it highly voted request on UserVoice.

    Thanks

  5. HTML Export Endnotes with Hyperlinks

    Version: InDesign CC 2018 - 13.1

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Use the endnote feature and in one of the endnotes (preferably after the first one), add a hyperlink.

    2. Export the InDesign document to HTML

Expected Result: All endnote references are hyperlinked and the numbers for each endnote are backlinked back to the reference.

Actual Result: Endnote number is missing for all endnotes after the hyperlink that was added to the endnote and no linking occurs after the manual hyperlink.

  6. Drag-duplicating an object with Alt key pressed does not duplicate, if moving on a separate page

If I try to duplicate an object to another page, across the pasteboard border, by holding the Alt key and dragging with mouse, the object only moves there. If I want to duplicate an object to another page, I have to first duplicate it on the same page and then move it to another page.

However, as that is unintuitive, I still constantly try to duplicate an object across the page border, leading me to undo back after I find out the object didn't actually duplicate, but instead I have moved the original object (and oftentimes edited it a lot…

    Hi,
Thanks for reporting this bug. This behavior is present for a long time now.

However, pressing alt key first and then dragging the frame across spreads does resolve the issue for me.
Can you please check the same?

    -Aman

  7. Content following a list exports to HTML/EPUB as part of the last list item

When exporting a document that includes a list to EPUB or HTML, everything after the list is exported inside the last list item. Attached screen shots show the issue.

  8. png transparent background showing black

Importing this icon and the transparent background is showing as black in current inDesign CC. Didn't have issues with similar icons from same site.

  9. Shape sizing bug that has been around since at least CS6 is STILL not fixed in CC2019!!

    1) Version of Adobe InDesign...

This bug has plagued InDesign from at least CS 6.2 all the way to the current CC2019 version. I filed a bug report in 2017, and @Abhinav Kaushik claimed the bug was solved, but this was straight-up NOT TRUE. The bug persists to the present software.

    2) Follow these steps to replicate the bug:

Create a shape, let's say a circle, and then copy this circle and paste it in a separate layer directly over the top of the first. To better see the effects of the bug, make the fill of the top circle…

  10. Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Right Arrow / Left Arrow in tables

    InDesign version 14.0.

The keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Right Arrow" to move one word to the right does not work when the text cursor is in a table. Same for "Ctrl+Left Arrow", to move one word to the left.

  11. InDesign Publish Online Not Clickable on Windows in Chrome or Firefox

Working in: Adobe InDesign CC 2018

We recently published a guide online using Adobe Publish online. The clickable elements (buttons, interactive elements) are not clickable on touchscreen PCs in Chrome or Firefox, but the touchscreen works (not as clean, but works). This issue is not present when the PC users are in safari or internet explorer. All content was created and published on a Mac, and no macs have had an issue.

The content is private, but I can send the guide to anyone from Adobe on a person-person basis.

  12. When setting the frame grid with the shortcut key, it becomes an unintended font display

    InDesign Ver.13.0.1 x64(CC 2018) Japanese Edition
    Windows

    1. make new document
    2. make new frame grid
    3. select frame grid
    4. press key "Ctrl+B", and open dialog

A font that starts with "B" installed in the system is displayed in the font setting of the dialog.
Should be displayed is the default "Kozuka Mincho Pr6 N".

CC 2017 and older versions are no problem.

  13. Make bulleted lists act correctly when it's moved by text wrap

The bullets on the image attached have a left indent of 3 mm and a first line left indent -3 mm, but have incorrect layout, because the adjacent text box has text wrap applied, which displaces the text with bullets.

  14. Import PDF Comments not working correctly for Tables.

PDF comment import not working accurately on tables

    1. ID 14 Mac
    2. Import PDF comments to layout including simple 2-column tables in which an entire row is marked as deleted/struck through
    3. Expected that the entire row would be deleted upon acceptance of edit via PDF Comments palette
    4. In fact Accepting edit only deletes the contents of the first cell of the row, leaving the orphaned data behind.

  15. Image color settings get lost when duplicating image or when data merging

If a placed image has an icc-profile different from the documents' profile, that profile assigment will get lost when the image is being duplicated. The same thing is going to happen if the document is being data merged for variable data printing. The image will have a wrong profile assignment in the additional records when creating the merged document. Only the first record will be properly printed, the duplicates won't. Test files attached.

  16. Text wraps when replacing a swatch

If I replace a swatch the text wraps at one place. It happens just with one color in the document... I doesn't matter which swatch I use for replacing... I never seen this before. I image how risky that is when you're replacing a swatch in a large project like a catalog and than somewhere in the document text is wraping...

  17. Import XLSX spreadsheet to an InDesign table: the "-1" problem

    1. InDesign CS4 - CC2017

    2. Generate an Excel spreadsheet that contains at least one cell with the value "-1". Save as XLSX. Import/place (cmd-d) this file as "unformatted table".

    3. the cells with the value "-1" should still have this value.

    4. the cells are empty. All other values seem to show up correctly.

Additional information: Working regularly on Annual Reports with 100+ tables, our choice is to import as „unformatted table“ and to do all formatting in InDesign. After changes in Excel, all we have to do is updating the linked tables via the link panel. Table contents…

  18. Copying animations loses timing panel settings

When copying/duplicating animations (using ANY method), the timing panel settings are completely lost. This is really bad for complicated animations. The timing panel settings should be maintained when animations are copied/pasted or duplicated in any way.

  19. PDF Hyphenation Bug when line has cross-reference, hyphenated word, and option is to create Tagged PDF

When exporting an InDesign document to PDF, the hyphenated word is displayed incorrectly in the output PDF.

It only happens with a line that has cross-reference object, hyphenated word, and option is to create Tagged PDF.

InDesign 2019 (14.0.1) (MAC/PC) . Also tried it with previous versions and it has the same issue.

  20. ICML export doesn't include <HyperlinkPageDestination> elements

(Affects all versions of InDesign that support ICML export)

Export the story in the attached document to ICML. Delete the story in InDesign and then re-import the ICML. The Hyperlinks panel shows "The referenced paragraph or text anchor is missing".

This is only a problem for the ICML export of internal links. Hyperlinks to pages in external documents are exported correctly. The information is also correctly stored when saved to IDML.
