Placed illustrator files keep showing as modified
When I place illustrator files in Indesign they show as modified even when closed from illustrator. I update and within a minute it shows as modified again. Very annoying. This is a new behavior on M1 mac studios, Monterey, working from a Mac file server which worked as expected previously with Intel imacs. Please fix ASAP. Thanks

Capitalisation of letters b and i triggering the command prompt to bold and italicise copy
Issue being experienced on Adobe InDesign 2023 version 17.4 (and previous version), using MacOS Monterey v12.6.
When using shift + b or shift + i commands in indesign to create capital B or capital I, the command is instead acting as I would expect if I were to key in CMD + B or CMD + I in Microsoft or code - it is changing the font to 'Semibold' (shift + B) and 'Book italic' (shift + I) and not capitalising the letter.
The issue can be replicated reliably across all fonts loaded.
Please can this be investigated?

Importing PDF comments slow down the UI, making impossible any edit.
- Indesign 18.0 (Issue appeared in 17.3)

Share for Review - Interactive PDF 'Jump to Page' feature not working
Hey,
I have a contents page in my Interactive PDF, that when you click an item on it, it jumps to the corresponding page in the PDF. However, on the Share to Review site, it jumps to the wrong page - always to the page after the one that it should jump to. When I export the PDF normally, it functions as expected, it is only on the Share to Review site that it doesn't work.
Was wondering if a fix could be found for this, as we are having to explain this to clients every time we send a…

GREP Tab Issue
I created a GREP style to make Title Caps part of the style and I needed it to do this after a tab. That wouldn't work, but I got it work backwards.
An unexpected side effect is that when you copy and paste from the PDF I created, it makes every letter next to "T" also capitalized. It's treating the shortcode for tab "\t" like it's trying to hone in on "T" and also like tab. It looks fine until you copy and paste.

Output settings don't appear to be saved in Adobe PDF presets anymore in Indesign 17.4
I rely on Adobe PDF Presets in Indesign. In version 17.4, it appears that output settings saved in custom presets are not observed anymore. I had a preset for low res pdfs with colour settings in output set to RGB values for online viewing. Worked great for years. Now I have to go in and turn off "all spots to Process" all the time.

spell check is changing the language to Catalan
Hi there! I've worked in Indesign for the last 20 years and recently there is a bug in the spell-check feature. Every time I run that feature, it starts out in English and then abruptly changes to Catalan which finds every single word to be wrong. I've changed it in my preferences and even restarted my computer.

Items outside frame are exported in PDF as well
I have seen that this issue exists for a long time. Upon exporting to PDF, if you have placed a PDF inside a frame, anything outside the frame will be exported too. I believe that anything outside a frame should not be exported as it makes no sense, especially because it is exported as invisible (but still selectable). Can you fix this please?
In my example, only the image you can see was inside the frame, but other items from the original PDF were exported.

Smart Text Reflow add pages wrongly when there are more than one story
The overset text must be added to the next text frame but it is added to new page instead.

Application crashes/closes without submitting error log when trying to re-link or replace a file via drag and drop
I am using the most recent version of indesign (17.4).
When I try to re link a file (a PSD in this instance) or to use drag and drop to change the file to something else, the application completely shuts.
It does not produce an error log and I have even tried regedit to get it to gather a crash dump but no joy.
I have tried to revert to a previous instance of InDesign but this does not fix the issue either.

%-Sliders not working properly anymore when palette attached to the right edge
InDesign 17.2 / 17.4: Ever since these two releases came out, I am not able to use my palettes when they are attached to the right edge of my workspace. Example: I want an item in 76 % magenta. I select the item, click ”effects" (Effekte for me, since my default language is German), then choose magenta. Finally I want to slide the percentage to 76. As soon as I touch the slider, the tool disappears. This happens to sliders as in Colors and Transparency, and only if the tools are arranged in a list view in the sidebar. Setting…

Bug: Find/Change of conditional text partially bad
Version: Indesign 17.x, Windows 10
Description: Find/Change dialog cannot find a text that has two or more conditions set when you select one of these to find.
Step to reproduce:
1. Write some text and mark a word.
2. Create two conditions, A and B, and assign them to that word. Exit edit mode.
3. Open Find/Change and set the filter in "Conditions" to find condition A only.
Result: Indesign cannot find a match. Logical bug.P. S. I wanted to add an INDD to demonstrate, but software says it's not allowed

Autosize text boxes not refreshing
InDesign 17.3
Autosize textbox with anchored autosize text boxes, if the anchored textbox resizes to match the text, often, the parent autosize text box does not change to accommodate it. The child text box increases size and overlaps the text boxes or other anchored items around it. A provisional fix is to manually resize the parent textbox which causes a refresh. "Convert URLs to Hyperlinks..." feature in the Hyperlinks pannel does not work with URLs containing accented characters. The GREP request for detecting URLs should be updated in future versions of inDesign.

InDesign 2022 crashing when pasting or importing MS Word text.
Running Windows 11, I can't import text from Microsoft Word. Even by copying the texto on Word and pasting onto InDesign, the app crashes over and over and over again. I just can't work.
