2. Bug: tint remains when applying a different swatch

   Indesign 2025, v20.2, Windows 11
   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Have at leat two swatches in the swatches panel. The 1st with, for instance, 20% tint and the 2nd with 100%
   2. Type some text and select it, then apply the swatch with the 20% tint.
   3. Then apply the other swatch.
   Result: the text isn't display in the color of the 2nd swatch, because the tint is not changed to 100%

3. Copying text frames results in pasted PDF

   Copying text frames from older versions of InDesign (example 2022 to 2025 – v.20.1) results in a pdf frame, meaning the text is uneditable. The only workaround I have discovered is to copy the text itself, paste it into the new document, and reformat the frame. I believe the discussion posted here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-locking-text-frames-with-old-id-files/m-p/15147987 – is referring to the same issue.

4. [ID-3806494] Text Wrap Woes: v20.2 Update Fails to Resolve Text Wrapped Object Error Spacing Issue in Adobe InDesign

   This is a follow-up on the original bug report [ID-4257733], which addresses the issue of the "Text Wrapped Object" spacing error. The problem remains unresolved in Adobe InDesign version 2025 v20.2. Please find attached a PNG image illustrating the persisting issue

   Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

   1. Insert an image or free-flowing table into the text.
   2. Anchor the image or table in-line or custom to maintain spatial proximity with other images on the same page and ensure it remains adjacent to specific text .

   Expected Result: The ability to freely move or reposition the table/image anywhere on the page within the text, without overlaying or obscuring the text. This is particularly important for maintaining the relevancy and visual flow of the content.

   Actual Result: The "text wrap" spacing option fails to work for the text above the table/image, and the spacing is inconsistent—it does not work for the text above the table/image but functions correctly for the text below.

   This is a follow-up on the original bug report [ID-4257733], which addresses the issue of the "Text Wrapped Object" spacing error. The problem remains unresolved in Adobe InDesign version 2025 v20.2. Please find attached a PNG image illustrating the persisting issue

6. Pasteboard issues

   Pasting things sometimes changes the size of the pasteboard drastically. Pasteboard margins changes to 10 mm and 10 mm when I paste into the document and it only happens on one page, even if I have multiple pages in the document. This is happening since I updated Indesign from 2025 to 2026 on Windows 11. This causes me to fix the pasteboard size many times throughout the day over and over again.

7. Latest instead of the earliest version required in N-2 policy

   Indesign 2024 is buggy on my 27" iMac running mac OS Big Sur. 2025 is not compatible. So I use 2023. Just after the introduction of ID2025, Indesign and Creative Cloud stopped working for some reason and after cleaning my system of Adobe files to have it running again, I only have access to 18.0 instead of the leatest 18.5.X. Why do we only get the earliest version 18.0 and not the latest version of the N-2? Can we get the most recent N-2 version? Thank you.

8. Restore “Next/Previous Window” shortcut functionality when Stage Manager is enabled

   When using InDesign 2025 on macOS Tahoe with Stage Manager enabled, the Next Window (⌘`) and **Previous Window** (⇧⌘`) shortcuts do not work. Even if the shortcuts are reassigned in Preferences, InDesign cannot cycle through open documents.

   What’s happening:
   Stage Manager collapses all InDesign document windows into a single OS-level container. macOS then reports that InDesign has only one window, so InDesign’s “Next/Previous Window” commands never cycle.

   Why this is critical:
   • Multi-document workflows are core to professional design.
   • Losing the ability to quickly flip between open documents slows production work significantly.
   • Competing macOS apps (Safari, Finder, Mail) handle this correctly with Stage Manager. InDesign should do the same.

   Requested behavior:
   When Stage Manager is active and macOS reports only one window, InDesign should treat the Next/Previous Window commands as a request to cycle open document tabs, not OS-level windows.

   This would restore expected functionality without requiring users to disable Stage Manager — and keep InDesign consistent with Apple’s own pro apps.

   Environment:
   • InDesign 2025 (latest build)
   • macOS Tahoe (latest release)
   • Issue persists after preference reset, shortcut reassignment, and clean install

   When using a Text Variable (Running Header ‹Paragraph Style›) and applying it to fully diacritized Arabic text, the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.

10. Resizing item using control bar value defaults to unlinked every time

    The resizing tool in the control bar will not stay with linked proportions - I go to resize an object to a specific width for example, I want it to be proportionally linked so I click the link button. It works, but immediately defaults to unlinked. Previously this stayed on what you had selected for the next time you used it. This is causing multiple errors when I am expecting it to stay linked. 11. IDML export breaks structure when there is a tagged single row table at the start of a story

    When exporting an InDesign document to IDML and re-opening it, a specific set of conditions causes the tag applied to a table to be incorrectly reordered in the XML structure, and an extraneous <Table> tag to be inserted.

    This issue occurs when the table is a single-row table and is the very first element in the story (no preceding text or content). This bug disrupts the intended tag hierarchy, breaking workflows that depend on accurate XML structure.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create a new InDesign document.
    2. Create a text frame on the page.
    3. Within the text frame, insert a table.
    4. a. Ensure the table is the very first element in the story (before any other text or content).
    5. b. Set the table to have only one row.
    6. Apply a tag to the table (in my example CustomTable).
    7. Export to IDML
    8. Open the IDML
    9. Open the Structure Panel and examine the structure. You will observe the following:
    10. a. The "CustomTable" tag now appears before a <Table> tag representing the table. The expected order is the <CustomTable> tag encapsulating, the cells.
    11. b. The "CustomTable" tag is before the actual table in the story, without any content inside of it.

    Expected Result:
    The structure of the document should be maintained after exporting to IDML and re-opening.

    Actual Result:
    The custom tag appears before the table and a <Table> tag is added to the structure, disrupting the intended structure of the XML.

    Environment:
    InDesign 2024 (19.5)
    InDesign 2025 (20.1)
    Windows 11

12. InDesign Buttons in Interactive PDF Not Receiving Visible Focus When Tabbing

    Product and Version: Adobe InDesign 20.3 (2025) & Acrobat Pro 2025.001

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a Button in InDesign using Buttons and Forms panel.
    2. Assign an action like "Go to Next Page" with event "On Release or Tap."
    3. Export as Interactive PDF with "Create Tagged PDF" and "Use Structure for Tab Order" enabled.
    4. Open in Acrobat.
    5. Tab through the document.

    Expected result: Button should show visible focus indicator when selected by keyboard tabbing, to meet WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible.

    Actual result: Button can be activated by Enter but shows no visible focus indicator. Rollover and Click states do not activate on tabbing. Hyperlinks, and other form fields like Checkboxes show proper focus highlighting, but not Buttons. This causes accessibility failure for keyboard users.

13. Font and color selection is not working

    Hello.
    I am using Indesign 2025 which was automatically updated on my computer on M1 Max MBP with Sequoia 15.1.1.

    When i try to change a swatch color on an object or a paragraph style on text, indesign will not allow me to make my selection. It will register the selection for a brief moment, and then the icon will deselect the option and my request was not taken into account. This bug is very frustrating as it is not allowing me to make any changes needed.
    This is a relatively new bug that was not there in indesign 2024 when i did this last a few weeks/months ago.

14. leave User Workspaces ALONE

    Leave User Workspaces ALONE!! Updates should automatically grab the current workspaces and copy them in, STOP trying to shove three versions of "essentials" down our throats. Not all of us have admin access, so deleting after every update isnt an option. It also stops non-admin users from migrating manually. To say this is frustrating would be an understatement.

    "Essentials" is TRASH, but every **** update removes any custom ones I have (YES even if I choose migrate, it doesnt do anything so I stopped bothering) and force it into "Essentials". Just STOP. You DO NOT know our workspaces better than us. This shouldnt be difficult, but Adobe has been doing this for years, and now InDesign 2025 has THREE different Essentials? Thats missing the point entirely and then congratulating yourself for it.

15. “Missing Fonts” Alert Is Not Displayed When “Embedded Profile Mismatch” Warning Appears on Document Open

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Prepare an INDD file that satisfies both of the following conditions:
       • The document’s embedded color profile does not match the current Color Settings
       • One or more fonts used in the document are not installed on the current machine
    2. Open the INDD file.
    3. Observe the dialog(s) that appear.

    Expected Result

    Both alerts are displayed:
    1. The “Embedded Profile Mismatch” dialog appears first.
    2. After dismissing it, the “Missing Fonts” dialog appears as usual.

    Actual Result

    Only the “Embedded Profile Mismatch” dialog is shown. The “Missing Fonts” dialog is never presented. The missing fonts are highlighted in pink in the layout, with no opportunity to review or resolve them at open time.

    Additional Notes

    • In InDesign 2024 (19) and earlier, the “Missing Fonts” dialog appeared after the “Embedded Profile Mismatch” dialog as expected.
    • Since INDD files always embed a color profile, the “Embedded Profile Mismatch” dialog appears whenever the document’s profile differs from the user’s Color Settings, making this bug easy to trigger in typical production workflows.

    Impact

    When the color profile warning fires first, users are not notified of missing fonts. The missing fonts are silently substituted, making it highly likely that work or output will proceed with incorrect fonts. The only way to check for missing fonts is to manually open Type > Find Fonts… after the document is already open.

    Workaround

    On macOS only: dropping the file directly onto the InDesign application window avoids the issue. No workaround is available on Windows, or when using other open methods on macOS.

    • INDDファイルには必ずカラープロファイルが埋め込まれるため、ドキュメントのプロファイルとユーザーのカラー設定が異なれば必ずこの不一致ダイアログが表示される。これにより、通常の制作ワークフローでも本バグは容易に発生する。

    影響

    カラープロファイルの警告が先に発生した場合、ユーザーは環境にないフォントの存在を通知されない。気づかないままフォントが代替表示された状態で作業・出力が行われる可能性が極めて高い。環境にないフォントを確認するには、ドキュメントを開いた後に手動で「書式 > フォントの検索と置換...」を開くしかない。

    回避策

    macOSのみファイルをInDesignのアプリケーションウィンドウに直接ドロップして開くと本バグは発生しない。Windowsでは回避策なし。macOSでも他の開き方では回避できない。

16. Segoe UI Emoji font visual issue in Indesign Export PDF

    I have used some smiley glyphs in my InDesign layout with the "Segoe UI Emoji" font. The smiley glyphs appear in black and white in both the InDesign Glyphs panel and my layout. However, in the exported PDF, they appear in yellow.

    Since I am working on a black-and-white layout, this is causing an issue. I am using the latest versions of InDesign 2024 and 2025. I suspect this could be an application bug. Could someone please check and confirm?

17. [ID-4259937][Document Specific] InDesign and InDesign Server go into infinite recompose

    The attached IDML file is a minimized test case for an infinite recompose loop. To start the loop, open the document in an InDesign client and select the gray text frame and turn off its text wrap property. To stop the loop, select Undo or close the document.

    The test case is taken from a real-world IDS incident where this loop monopolized the IDS process for several minutes until our watchdog killed it.

18. Opens in old version after the latest automatic upgrade

    When I double click on an InDesign file in a folder, why are my files trying to open in an older version of InDesign (2025), when I have the latest version installed? It wasn't happening before the latest version of InDesign 2026 was updated today, and I can't work out how to stop it happening in future, so that any file I click on opens in the latest version of InDesign, not an old one. I have specified that any *.indd file should open in the latest version, but that doesn't resolve the problem.

19. Moving pages not working because of "locked" content?

    In 2025 I have a file where I am trying to copy pages into another file and I get a pop up message saying "Cannot modify elements that contain locked content, or are contained by locked content. Please unlock or check out the content and try again." This makes no sense, I have never seen this before. There is NO reason for (as it turns out) having a locked object on a page to preclude me from moving/copying that page, this is isnane.

20. colour rendition

    The colors in the pages tab reflect those in the jpgs imported into indesign. But these colours are not shown in the main part of the main part of the screen. These latter colours are less saturated and the white balance seems to be off, as if pushed to a cooler palette. The screen shots included below show this effect. When the application is first opened, the colours are OK for about a minute or so, and then they are altered as described.

    This happens with both 2025 & 20236 versions, ie 20.5.2x64 & 21.2x64
