Save/Save as corrupts file
InDesign 2021, running on Mac OS 10.14.6, on a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)
I recently "upgraded" my version of InDesign to the latest 2021 version. I thought, why not, new features, upgraded stability.
Or so I thought....
I started working on a document, a newsletter, that I retrieved from our archive as it is a quarterly magazine. I opened the file and proceeded to start working on it. Did a couple of pages and thought I'd better save it.
Command+s, message pops up saying this file is damaged and/or corrupt, save it as something else. Which I did, and…

Indesign 16.0.1 sometimes crashes when saving
Indesign 16.0.1 on my month-old iMac, crashes daily usually when I'm saving my 80 page catalog, I don't know when it will happen. The book contains links from Drive, Dropbox and another computer.
Yesterday's crash damaged the file but luckily I could use a recently saved version.

InDesign 16.0.1 can't recover file from crash
Running InDesign 16.0.1 on Catalina. Mac workstation connected SMB to Windows server.
InDesign crashes shortly after working in a different program and returning to InDesign. Report the crash then try to reopen InDesign from doc icon (or CC). It crashes again. Report, reopen from doc icon (or CC, or in applications folder). Get error message that InDesign crashed trying to load the recovery file, can't locate the recovery file. In order to open InDesign I must click "no" to not try to recover the file.
I have reset preferences, created a new workspace (instead of using previous version's saved workspace),…

Updated to Indesign 2021. if I close the program, it will not open up again unless I reboot or end process in task manager
I can end the Indesign process in Task Manager, and then Indesign will open again just fine. Or I can reboot the computer, and again it will open without problems.

InDesign 16.0 crashes continually on mac running Catalina
Cannot seem to get InDesign to open at all since buying new MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7. It opens normally at first, then get the rainbow spinning wheel of death and have to force quit. Same thing happens in InDesign 2019. Have trashed preferences, repaired permissions, granted global permissions for all of Adobe's support folders, used Adobe Cleaner to remove all Adobe files and reinstalled everything from scratch. Spent an hour with Adobe tech support this morning and he could not get this problem fixed. Am very open to suggestions! What would be the next step?

File Info box not displaying CC2020 15.1.1
File Info box not displaying when trying to add metadata. CC2020 15.1.1, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5, external Dell monitor. I have tried reopening and overwriting preference files then restart. I have tried deleting library cache for cc15 and then restart. I have disconnected external monitor and restarted. Only solution has been to reopen as cc2019 doc and add there, but some clients make additional changes in 2020 and send back so I still have same issue. I keep having to force quit to get program to restart each time I try and open file info.

Indesign 15.1.1 crashing when placing an AI file
Indesign 15.1.1 crashes every time when trying to place an AI file of a map that was originally exported from ArcGIS. Maps are complex, but I have never had a problem placing them before this update.

Crash when changing bullet character options
Just updated to the newest InDesign version (as of 28.03.2020).
Whenever changing the character style on a bullet list, in my case trying to change the character color of the bullet/numbering character (1., 2., 3. ...) , either via paragraph style -> bullet options or directl via character style window, InDesign crashes. The application does not crash when I choose the "Overprint Fill" option.2 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. InDesign "hangs" when exporting to InCopy:
MAC, OS 15.10.3, InDesign 2020:
Problems exported via InCopy (hangs and hangs and sometimes crashes) YES I have updated InCopy too. InDesign will no longer export IDML files (could this be due to no longer available to open in CS6?)Unfortunately, I am the only person who has upgraded to Catalina.
Id this an Adobe fix or an Apple OS fix?

InDesign 2020 v15.01 makes corrupt documents when using Alternate Layout
The "Create Alternate Layout" in indesign 2020 v15.01 is toxic.
After using it, chances are high that documents will at some later stage become corrupt. It may manifest itself by crashing on copy/paste or just a spinning beachball of death (Mac).
I have seen this on at least 20 different documents since upgrading from version 2019 to version 2020 (15.0.1). We never used version 15.0.
This is my guess on what happens:
Using "Create Alternate Layout" it will make some of the Paragraph Styles corrupt. Version 2020 seems to crash (beachball) whenever one of these are accessed. This might very…2 votesThe issue has been fixed in the recently released update to InDesign version 15.0.3.

InDesign freezes and then crashes
Version: InDesign 15.0.1 x64
Issue(s): 1. One example is that when working in InDesign and go to save a file the application shows that the icon is spinning and never seems to stop spinning. Then an error message pops up on the screen indicating some sort of issue and then the application crashes to the desktop.
2. When opening up a file that I have been working on it takes a while to open and when it does open it opens a prior file that I was working on.
Expected Results: 1. When saving a file I am expecting the…2 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
