1. Some dielines converting to filled shapes

   Environment:
   CS 2025 (InDesign 20.0.1, Illustrator 29.1)
   Mac Studio (M2 Ultra, 192gb, Sonoma 14.7.1)

   We receive dielines as .dxf files from engineering. We open these files in Illustrator and create a layered file (dieline and art), export the individual layers as dieline and art, then impose the project using InDesign. Some dielines are changing from a stroke to a filled shape (think Minus Front) once the .pdf file is written from InDesign. (line verified as line in Illustrator in both the Illustrator document and the pdf generated of the dieline to use for imposition. InDesign generated (imposed) pdf file is different from the files used to create the pdf. Attempted to resolve problem by placing Illustrator file and using "Object Layer Options" to control desired art. No effect.

   Occurs mostly on interior cuts, not perimeter cuts.

   Thoughts?

2. InDesign 20.0 neihter packaging next to the source file nor replacing images from the original folder

   i'm suffering from a weird problem: nothing wants to use the original folder except the export command. When i try to replace an image the program navigates me to the last used folder unless i've chosen the Original folder option in the Preferences under File Handling menu. Same issue when i try to package a document.

   I've tried to delete all the preferences. ALL of them. I've emptied all the cache. ALL. Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign: the newly installed app tried to package into the last used folder (!?). The Preferences>File Handling> Default Relink folder menu does nothing. I can switch it but nothing happens...

   Same issue with other apps (Illustrator, PS, etc.).

3. InDesign only prints empty pages

   After installing InDesign a couple of days ago, I created a simple document containing a PDF and four lines of text. Then I wanted to print it, but InDesign just printed empty pages (two of them even the document had just one page).

   I tried to export it to a PDF file which worked fine. Other INDD documents show the same problem. So InDesign prints only empty pages.

   I'm using Windows 11 Pro, current CC version (just downloaded), a HP Officejet printer connected via WLan (problem also occurs when connecting with USB). When I try to print the exported PDF it works fine.
   All other apps also print finde.

   Restarted the PC a couple of times, deletes settings files (ctrl+alt+shift), etc.

   Version of Adobe InDesign: latest
   Steps to reproduce the issues: install InDesign, print
   Expected result: a printed page
   Actual result: an empty page

4. missing print presets after upgrading to v 19.5

   I am running InDesign on Windows. All of my print presets have disappeared. Is there a way to restore them? If I can't, how can I prevent this from happening again? I have been working on InDesign for 6 years, and this is the first time it's happened to me.

6. Alpha channel issue in print pdf

   Hi All,

   My single-color PDF document that I uploaded to the Scout printer has an error stating that it uses the Alpha channel and is treated as a CMYK plate. My print page did not have an alpha channel.
   Could someone please advise me on how to determine whether the Alpha channel is there and how to prevent this sort of printer issue? My print PDF document is attached here.

7. overprinting a flat white color

   I ask for a simple flag that allows any color - even white - to behave as an opaque spot color and also allows overprinting as is the case in screen printing or offset printing in special colours. This request is not a chimera, but a real need of enormous importance.

8. Packaging with Include PDF (Print) selected doesn't properly render .ai images

   I have never been able to successfully use the "Include PDF" option when packaging files. I usually package, then export the pdf using my presets, then combine the files in the finder because the pdfs never come out correctly. It seems the problem is only with how it renders ai files. Color mode doesn't matter. The same thing happens whether or not I choose High Quality Print, Press Quality, PDFx1a, etc. Any solutions for this yet? It has been the case since the "Include PDF" feature was first released.  Example has exported pdf on the left, and package generated pdf on the right. Screenshots of preflights show the pdf exported using package files shows all .ai files are now low res vectors using exact same preset. Using Adobe Indesign 18.5 but have had this problem in every version since the "include pdf" feature was released.

9. Print files do not get overwritten.

   Whether i'm trying to overwrite a print file created with PDF or .vps using ID 2022 (17.4.1) through the XMPie plugin compatible for this version, it will not overwrite a previous PDF or .vps. This is a very frustrating issue since I've had to update to 2022. the only way around this is to delete the old PDF or .vps prior to running the new /updated print file, which is time consuming step. I constantly have to check time stamps to be certain that the files I send to our presses is the most current files needed, especially if a quick fix needs to be done while a job is on press.

11. Processing speed slow when printing pdf file

    Slow Processing speed when printing PDF files created in Indesign. Using Version 18.5 and everything is up to date.

    Has been an issue a little over a month after update. Have run tests using older files that have already been printed and a new PDF created from the same file. The processing speed when printing is doubled in the new file. Started trouble shooting on the printers and servers with no success.

    The file size itself is the same only processing the file takes longer. Processing is done with Fiery E-46 A to a Ricoh Pro C7200e Graphics Addition printer. HUGE bottle neck for production!

12. Bug: Print Thumbnails adds unwanted pagenumbers and numbers overlap pages

    Hi! When choosing Print & printer Adobe PDF & Thumbnails, the output file has page numbers which I do not want. There is no option to disable those.

    Also the page numbers are mislocated: they overlap the pages instead of being tidely above/under each page.

13. Print blank printer spreads

    While trying to print a booklet of even number pages the features "Print blank printer spread" not taking care. In books there few pages intentionally left blank. So this features are meant to take care of blank pages in booklet print. check the attached file what I mean.

    selecting or deselecting is the same results. won't taking blank pages.

14. Imprimir folleto

    Imprimir folleto "cosido" prepara las paginas para la encuadernacion cosida o acaballada, la previsualizacion es correcta. Pero al imprimir, desordena las paginas y el compaginado resultante es erroneo.
    Nota: Probé tambien actualizando a la ultima versión de InDesign, pero sigue el mismo problema.

16. InDesign 18.3 Bugs related to Outlining JPtext

    When outlining JPtext, the following problems occur

    (1) JPcharacters to which lines are added are greatly deformed.
    (1-1 Before outlining) (1-2 After outlining)

    (2) The processing added by the effect disappears from the outlined text.
    (2-1 Before outlining) (2-2 After outlining)

17. Path to images in linked InDesign documents not adjusted when packaged

    I have packaged an InDesign document with linked InDesign documents for the printer. The images inside the packaged InDesign files have the wrong path, it has not been adjusted to the packaged images.

    Our printer has printed the product therefor without the linked images which is a desaster. Please fix linked image paths within linked InDesign documents.

18. Generating traceable and dynamic QR codes

    Currently, creating codes with InDesign is very simple, but limiting. In fact, it is not possible to trace the code or modify it once it is printed.

    To create dynamic QR codes, with modifiable links after printing, it is necessary to rely on third-party websites, such as QR code generator, which however requires a paid subscription.

    If instead we simply want to trace a link, we can upload it to BITLY... but always outside Adobe.

    It would be useful to have all this already included in Adobe, maintaining the ease of creation, the possibility of modifying the link once your account is still printed, and having more security, avoiding external sites. Additionally, the same function could be replicated in Illustrato

19. Stock image names are too long

    When using licensed Adobe stock images, the names from the catalog are entered as the file name which causes the files to not be able to be packaged, resulting in an error. I suggest making it so that the files enter the library as Stock #s instead to avoid this issue.

20. Unable to print using Separations with trap Application Built In

    When sending a 2+ color job with trap to RIP via Indesign, I keep getting "Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem." This seems to be an issue with the last 3 versions, along with the updates. I've uninstalled print drivers and reinstalled. Deleted cache files. For a short time I was able to print using an older version on Id but its no longer and option. My coworker who is on Mac has no problem printing with trap. Not sure what's going on. I contacted Adobe when the problem first arose and went back and forth with them for over a week, tech even remoted in, nothing was fixed. Anyone else?
