Note field with published files
In our company we create several versions of our brochures made in InDesign, based on the type of client and job. The title for the various versions needs to be identical (Design Brief from XXX) so it's time consuming to identify the correct file for a specific client. If we were able to add notes for ourselves for each file that would be helpful. Ideally these notes would be visible for us on the Publish Online Dashboard, visible right there with each of the titles of the published files.

Option to turn off auto-collapse of layers when switching between documents.
When switching between open indesign documents, the layers collapse automatically. Please give me an option to turn this feature off! If I have opened a layer, I want them to stay open until I have decided to have it otherwise.

Link OS Work Documents
Currently only supports linking to Excel docs for Tables which also loses all table formatting and Header ID. This feature is in need of an update overall and inclusion of the Mac programs would be very helpful.

Please make the reflect tool work the same way as in illustrator!
It works completely opposite of Illustrator which makes it super confusing if you're switching between them (i.e. to do the same transformation, you have to use a horizontal reflection in indesign and a vertical one in illustrator.) A preview like in illustrator would be great too.

A centralized corporate information library
Create a centralized corporate information library within InDesign where repetitive information can be stored once and reused across documents.
For example, designers could select a team member from the library and automatically pull in their name, title, email, phone number, headshot, etc. If that information changes, InDesign could update it across linked documents.
This would create a single source of truth for frequently used corporate information and eliminate repetitive manual data entry.

Applications that are not compatible with my Mac Pro do not show older versions
In the Creative Cloud desktop app, I enabled Avatar > Preferences > Apps > Show older apps.
The problem is that my 2012 Mac Pro is incompatible with Photoshop and InDesign because my processor does not support AVX2 instructions.
However, for the applications that can be installed, the "Other versions" option does appear—and in the case of Illustrator, as many as 32 older versions are listed. I don't understand why access to older versions is blocked precisely where it would be most useful: for applications that aren't compatible with my Mac Pro.
It doesn't make sense. Why would I want…

Give back "Continuous Scroll" for the "Share for Review" feature!
When someone accesses an InDesign file via the "Share for Review" feature, it used to let the person do continuous scroll through pages. But for over 2 years, this feature has been REMOVED and wasn't added back in! Give us back continuous scroll! It is pure suffering to try commenting on a 50-page file when you keep getting kicked between pages.

Feature request: Ignore Preflight errors on Hidden Spreads
It would be very useful if InDesign automatically excluded Hidden Spreads from Preflight checks, or provided an option to do so.
Currently, a spread set to “Hide Spread” is intentionally excluded from presentation/export, but errors within that spread — such as missing image links or overset text — can still be reported by Preflight.
This creates unnecessary warnings, particularly in documents where Hidden Spreads are used to keep alternative layouts, previous versions, or working material within the same InDesign file.
Suggested improvement:
Add a Preflight option such as:
“Ignore errors on Hidden Spreads”
When enabled, missing links, overset text, image…

Centering Logos Without Considering the ® Symbol
It’s a small detail, but when a logo has a ® or ™ that makes its overall frame wider, I usually crop out the trademark, center the actual logo, and then undo the crop. I know the difference is negligible, but that’s just how I prefer to align things. Since Adobe keeps adding AI tools to InDesign, it would be nice to have an option that automatically ignores ® and ™ symbols when aligning a logo.

Allow for Wider PDF Export
Illustrator updated the maximum width years ago, can indesign please update this too.
Sometimes when exporting large pdfs like banners, we need to export spreads up to 10 meters+, please allow this to be a feature, so it's easier to show a proof to a client .

Paragraph Rules/Underline Skip Ink
Can Paragraph Rules/Underlines be updated to have a 'skip ink' feature, similar to how figma works.
For example, if I wanted to add a rule/underline below the word "example", I could choose for the line to go through the letter p or to skip any descenders adding in a gap to the line.

Ignore hidden pages when creating Share for Review link
I occasionally keep different versions of a given page hidden in my document in case I need them later. However, when creating a Share for Review link, I have to make sure I delete the hidden pages each time otherwise they will export in the Share for Review preview and confuse my reviewer.
Can you please add functionality into Share for Review so it will not export any pages that are hidden when creating a share link?

Add "2" pages as default option to Add Pages rather than "1".
1 page as the default adds no value when writing hundred page books. Need to add "2" pages 99% of the time and have to take our hands off the mouse each time to add pages. Either all the default to be changed or add a "page up" button to change the page count without having to take your hand off the mouse to use the keyboard. Adding 2 pages is a new spread, adding 1 page just shuffles all the pages in the document.

Restore color books
For some reason, I am not able to add one of the preset colourbooks to my files. I had help from an Adobe employee and finally he reached the conclusion individual colours needed to be added one by one. This is insane. I want to be able to access these colour books! Please restore so they can be added to the Swatches window!

Allow “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF” to be enabled by default in the Articles panel.
The Articles panel already includes the option “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF,” but there does not appear to be a way to make this setting enabled by default for new documents.
For accessible PDF workflows, this creates repetitive manual work because the setting has to be turned on for each new file. It also increases the risk that the setting may be missed before exporting a tagged PDF.
Please add a preference or document default that allows users to keep “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF” enabled automatically for new files.

Ability to create a semicircle shape quickly and easily
One feature I would really like to see added to InDesign is the ability to create a semicircle shape quickly and easily. At the moment, I haven't been able to find a straightforward way to make a perfect semicircle without relying on workarounds, manual adjustments, or creating the shape in another application first.
Having a dedicated semicircle tool or shape option would make the design process much more efficient, especially for layouts, infographics, diagrams, logos, and other projects that frequently require partial circular shapes. While InDesign offers a variety of shape tools and path-editing features, creating a precise semicircle can…

Added PDF export tag to character styles for accessibility
In InDesign, it would be helpful to have the option to export our style as an Artifact in the Character Styles tab, under "Markup Export". This would be very useful for accessibility, allowing for the automation of things like formatting bullets as Artifacts.

InCopy on the web to all language versions
Can you please stop with making features available in English version only. Those of us who work in an international environment or organization needs feature parity, and in this day and age, where AI takes care of 99% of translation and testing it cant't be that hard.
We pay for InDesign and expect to not be discriminated.

Redesign UserVoice forum
In this sad, poorly designed forum, if you click an attached image, then click back to the forum, the idea you viewed disappears and a different idea is presented.
When you attempt to post an idea, your email appears as the idea title.
Which makes it unclear where to place the title and where the content of the post. In the end, your feedback is posted with your email as the title, and thus has to be deleted and reposted.
Please redesign it.
