Add lowercase, Title, and Toggle to Case in style definition options
When defining a style, under Basic Character Formats, it would be very helpful to force lowercase! (And also add Title and Toggle case options so all case possibilities are present)
This is especially needed when replacing acronyms (usually typed in all-caps in manuscripts) with the appropriate small caps. It is very time consuming to manually retype all-caps acronyms in lowercase, then apply small caps character styling to it!
Try doing this for a 300-page book....you'll want to cut your eyes out.

This would save me a lot of time and reduce the risk of error

There is currently no way to dictate that you want a certain character or paragraph style to include the case (uppercase, lowercase, title case, etc). I've seen many people ask about this in forums. Please create this function.

Particularly as there are some fonts that have dedicated small caps replacing their lowercase letters.

I am voting for adding these additional options to character styles -> Case. Adding lowercase would help a lot when sending documents out for translations.
One of the main issues we run into is when there are cross-references pointing to a capitalized numbers list (Figure 1, Table 1) that is part of a paragraph style. To put it properly in the other language, they want to take away the capital letters in the body text cross-references.
We have found a temporary workaround. However, the resulting issue is that a large amount of cross-references end up out-of-date. This could lead to not updating cross-references that do actually need an update. This workaround also involves having to repeat the workaround every time there is a change, and more importantly, remembering to repeat the workaround.

Try solving this problem via GREP!

Like so many things in InDesign this seems like basic functionality missing from the app. Please take it out of the back log and add this simple feature.

@RY that’s what I do already re keyboard shortcuts but you still have to go into/select each text item when you do this, where a style would be faster to apply to hundreds at once.

Stop waiting on them and create your own keyboard shortcuts for this—it's what I've done.

I do not understand why there is a shortcut on the menu bar to ALL CAPS but not Title Case or Sentence case! We need that AND the ability to force it with paragraph or character styles!!

It would be nice to introduce case letters into the paragraph style.
UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence Case. -

Please add Title Case, Sentence Case and Lowercase to both Paragraph Styles and Character styles. I've had to to this manually so many times!

Is it possible to include change case in character styles?
I realize there are already a few (small caps, all caps, OT all small caps), but I would like to have included lower case, title case, and sentence case, which are already in the type menu.
Thank you,

Why does the case option still dont have lowercase while the file menu has. Also what is "normal", is that dont change??? Make the options global and the same, streamline it.

I have wanted this feature in InDesign forever, so I'm putting in a formal request :)
It would be so great if "Case" could be overridden as a part of a paragraph style. So you could set a heading style to be All Caps, or Title Case and it would override the existing casing when you applied the style, and reverted when you removed the style. This would be such a time saver for me working on long reports etc where the original author has paid no attention to case consistency, or when you decide you want to make all your Level 1 headings All Caps as a design choice.Seems like this should be easy enough for the geniuses at Adobe to implement. PLEASE!!!

For those who are requesting this feature...
While it's not possible directly by InDesign, there is a script solution for this: https://corullon.com.br/scripts/product/change-case/ -
