Allow password-protected hosting, and hosting from a non-Adobe server
These two features would go a LONG way to making Publish Online a viable format for professional publishing. I'm sure many clients would pay an extra fee (nothing outrageous) for a self-hosted solution, if that would be necessary for Adobe to commit resources to make this happen.
Password protection of Publish Online documents is available, starting with InDesign 19.4 version.

Password protect would really help issues we have - and combining it with a short link generation

Is there a way to publish a book file? It seems I can only publish one file but not a compilation. Is this true?
Yes, and really need the password protect feature.
Very much needed. -

I would like the password feature added to Publish Online. I have 2 clients that won’t use it unless they have password protection

@Abhinav Kaushik, Please I would like to know about this asap. My client doesn't want to use Adobe host.

@Abhinav Kaushik, Please speed up this feature and give us a date for this to be added. It would be extremely helpful.
Also please make a option to update an existing publish online link from any other adobe id/system/account.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

One of the first things many clients ask us is 'can we password protect it?' and 'is this secure?'.
That tells you that the unique link isn't a secure enough option on its own. -

Please update this feature. It is desperately needed for interactive PDF's to ever really take off.

Hi... I see in InDesign 2021 there is the option to put a password on "share for review"... This surprised me a little as I have been wanting this feature on publish for a long time and it has not been created... When can we see this feature in InDesign Publish settings?
I also see a lot of comments below asking for updates since the last time someone from Adobe commented nearly 2 years ago... I really think it is time for an update

How is this progressing? It's been a very long time but this feature is still wanted.

this is the reason why our company has declined to get us licenses for Publish. we are a company of 93,000 worldwide employees. even a fraction of that is a substantial amount of licenses, even just for our Graphic Designers to have. you're losing money by not making this work ASAP. just sayin'.
