We're happy to announce that the fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign - version 17.2 that is available from Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Please update to this latest InDesign version to get the fix.

An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI've had the same problem with the "red bar" across the top of my screen.
I'm latte to the party with this issue.
It seems to only happen when I have 2 or more files open and I switch between files.
Resizing the screen works to clear the issue, (but is an obvious hassle).
I have turned off GPU Performance and that has stopped the problem so far.
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019) running Big Sur V11.4
I'm not willing to try prerelease at this stage as I have a number of time critical projects on. (no need for grumpy clients).Anonymous supported this idea · -

Password protection of Publish Online documents is available, starting with InDesign 19.4 version.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience! Apple just released the macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update. This will fix the cursor issue with InDesign on macOS High Sierra. Please go to the App Store to update.

Hi - Does this affect Macs with the M1 Chip (I have a MacBook Air M1 2020)?
I can't see any updates in the CCD app. My Indesign version is 16.2.1
