1. Hex colors please!

   Really would like to be able to use HEX numbers for colors. I know InDesign is primarily for print, but some of us want to move our digital teams completely over to CC, and being able to use InDesign for digital work would be great...

2. Please let us turn off the new live endnotes feature

   I layout a journal which features multiple articles each with their own endnotes. They are uniquely numbered for each article and need to appear after each article. I don't need live endnotes as all the copy is proofed and correct before I receive it.

3. User interface is getting worse and worse

   I am still on CS6, because newer versions have been less stable and don't bring any benefits I need. Now I tried InDesign CC 2018 and realize that the contrast of the UI gets worse (dark grey on light grey or vice versa, additionally you cannot distinguish inactive/greyed-out menu topics), that the palettes needs more space on the screen without any reason for doing this and more dialogs/messages are not on the original OS design but in a new style. I suppose this is for tablet usability, but within this app really makes no sense to me. You are moving away from standards just to make anything new, but not better. Adobe, you are transforming from a company with professional apps to hipster design playground! With this focus, no way to get me from ID CS6 to current apps or you subscription plans!

4. Replace GUI

   It could be usefull if developers could completely replace the existing GUI, and replace it with a custom build GUI. The Indesign engine could then also be used for other purposes than graphic design work.

5. Make mini-icons easier to see

   I am running InDesign 2017.1 on a 1920x1080 monitor. The toolbar icons are quite small, but still usable, except for the ones dealing with color and stroke (lower left corner of UI). The mini-icons are trouble for old eyes and hands. I have tried changing the Windows text size setting to 125%, which improves the mini-icon situation but bloats the whole UI, reducing the work area. All I really want to do is make the color/stroke jumble easier to navigate and use. Everything else is fine as is.

8. Placing incorrect image type in environment should have warning (adjustable in Prefs)

   When placing an RGB image into a CYMK/print document, or a CMYK image into an RGB/web document, it would be great to have a warning. The warnings could be based on type RGB/JP/GIF/PNG into CMYK/print, CMYK/Pantone/Spot into RGB/web and resolution (300 dpi into 72 ppi, or vice versa), and this feature could be turned on/off/customized in Preferences.

9. Toggles in Dashboard for published content

   Introduce zwo Switches/toggles for "Hide the Share and Embed code" and "Allow PDF-Download" within the dashboard for an already published document so it doesn’t have to be republished every time one wants to change any of these options?

10. Spelling: "Ignore All" does not hold when reopening saved file

    Spelling: "Ignore All" for items one doesn't want to put in the user dictionary, like proper names, citation references, etc. These one-time decisions are not sustained after saving and closing the ID file and starting again opening it the next time. Once these decisions are made, they should be saved with the file save and the user should not have to keep redoing them.

12. Disable PDF export override

    Administrators should be able to disable PDF-export overrides. By doing this, during the export pdf process, users should only be able to select a PDF-export preset, but not be able to change the predefined settings.

    Please add readonly area property to all shapes (Rectangle, polygon, ...) which contains the total surface coverage. This property should be accessible using scripting... This is already present in Illustrator ...

16. Indents without first line indent

    Would be great if you could change the indent feature. Right now, if you use the indent function, it also gives the first line an indent. It would be better if you could add an indent in the paragraph style without affecting the first line of the body copy.

17. Tool to check for if Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints are being blocked by firewall

    For those of us deployed in large organisations with indifferent IT departments.
    It would be useful in Adobe provided a tool to check which of the (100+?) required Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints were blocked by our firewall.
    It is not always clear which endpoint is being blocked.
    If Adobe provided a Creative Cloud App or web tool that checked your network and then provided a nice report we could present to the stubborn IT bods (who insist they have whitelisted all 100+ adobe links)

    (let not get started on why there have to be so many! Or why therer are regional variations? AWS? but why wasn't this considered and written around appropriately?)

18. Show All on Layer as well as Show All on Spread

    There have been occasions where it would be useful to do this. Being able to hide certain elements on one layer and then elements on another layer but then be able to bring them back layer by layer without having to make new layers to put just these bits on then hiding the new layer.

    I want the pages panel to display the whole book. Sometimes it is very useful to see the transitions between chapters before exporting to PDF. Double click a page and it opens the file.

20. Fix Javascript errors on all Publish Online documents

    Every single Publish Online document throws a Javascript error. The error code seems to be the same for every document. The below was taken from 'Five Days from Nowhere', an Adobe example document used on the Publish Online documentation. The issue is that this Javascript error makes it impossible to add any custom Javascript as any subsequent code will not execute when the document is embedded in a different environment. This is a big issue for example for implementing Google Analytics Tracking codes into iframes.
