Document info in Indesign hyperlinks
I am implementing a sort of voting system for articles in a magazine (readers can vote wether or not they like an article). This means I have to implement 3 (more if I want a more detailed system) links per article. It would be handy to be able to use document info in the links so I can use this as parameters. Things like "Filename" "Pagenumber" "Section name" would really make this process a lot easier. I could create one set of links with these "parameters" and copy it to any section/Page/document and none of the links would have to…

Find/change return to where you started, like Word
When you're done Find/Replace, InDesign leaves you at the last occurrence, and you have to navigate to where you started. In Word, most of the time the screen returns to where you started, saving you time. Any chance of adding this to InD?

Keep All Paragraphs of the Same Style Together
In Paragraph Style Options/Keep Options or in Table of Contents Styles, add an option to keep all paragraphs of the same style together. This would be very helpful when creating tables of contents or, in some circumstances, bullet lists.

Options to enter #firstpage #lastpage in PDF filename
It would be great if you could add the option to add #firstpage and #lastpage to PDF filename. Lots of typographers require that in order to keep publications in order.
I work for a monthly magazine and in our workflow we create single articles that we gather into an InDesign Book. This would avoid the need of renumbering ALL the publication filenames – in case something changes in the articles order of appearance – and rebuild the Book before the PDF creation (I do this via a script by Peter Kahrel that exports the Book as single documents)2 votes -

Cover page for printing book should have their own setup by default to reduce confusion
I having issue seriously with page numbers. If its 38pp but in my pages box, shows 34pp example. Why do i need to get confused here?
I think indesign perhaps should have an option where I can right click and say page 1 and 2 is the cover, than the last two page is also a cover. Page number doesnt change, instead, right click and select it as book covers and boomz.
So confusing when i exported it shows 34pp in pdf preview, and indesign shows 32pp. So yeah. That could be one feature adobe team can seriously look into.…

Option to recognise different paragraph styles as the really part of the same style
When creating multi-level lists you need to use different paragraph styles. This creates a problem where the spacing you want at the end of the whole list and the start of a new paragraph is applied when you are in the middle of different levels of the list.
I am thinking a little checkbox next to the 'Based on' paragraph style section in the 'General' tab of the paragraph style settings window that allows you to link the new style as a child of the top-level style.
This way, those end of paragraph spacings won't be applied to the child…1 vote -
add a "Buttons" list in the buttons and forms palette
When creating interactive PDFs, it would be great to have a place where I can access buttons already created without having to click through objects on my page to find out what button was created to do what. (I have some documents that require multitudes of button objects) I'd love to see a place where I can discern if a "button" is an object being used to hide/show another object or is the object BEING shown/hid. Also, having multiple interactive elements on a page seems to "crash" my docs or cause all sorts of weird issues when viewed. Is there…

Show accented letters with alternate glyphs
When finding a letter with an accent, currently you have to search the glyphs panel, maybe narrowing it down with the dropdown, or paste it in. What would be great would be if the accented versions of letters (e.g. è, é, ê, ë) showed underneath the alternate glyphs when a letter was selected. Even if it was only the major accents showed, this would save a lot of time. It would probably be best as an option that can be turned on or off.

Zoom possible in presentation mode
When I set the page to be too long, enabling the presentation mode will show the full content, which makes the page too narrow in the screen to see the details, I want to add the zoom function in the presentation mode.

Improve Screen Display Quality - 4K Related
I've recently upgraded to a 4K monitor. When working on InDesign documents, the type is not "sharp". I am running in the High Quality Display setting, the text and graphics are not sharp. If I run the display driver at 150% this problem exists, if I run at 100%, the type and graphics are very sharp - as expected. So this is a Windows related issue.
Could the 150% magnification be ignored for the page display, but remain for the toolbars, etc.
I have "old" eyes from too much time in front of these monitors!
Thanks

Drop shadow effect, hold on rotate
Text or image box with drop shadow effect, the angle of the shadow should be maintained when you rotate the object.

Condition also for graphics instead of text only
Make it also possible, to show or hide Graphic Elements and Logos according to "Text Conditions". So it would be possible, to make one Template for Merge and set the content in 2 Languages with different Logos or Graphics.

The ability to have space before/after not add up
When two paragraphs with different paragraph styles with differing 'space before/after' settings are below each other, InDesign adds the 'space after' and 'space before' together. It would be nice if you could optionally set in the paragraph style that these values are not added together, so that only the highest value is honoured.

import image direct form google Pinterest
Hi, I make al lot off style sheets in inDesign, also moodboards. Normally I import the image directly from google or Pinterest. But right now this does not work any more. I'm importing the text page of the image, so now I have to save all the files and then I can import them in my file. Help it will save a lot of time for me :)

animate within a bounding box
with all of the animate options, grow, rotate, etc., it would be great if these could be applied to the image within a bounding box. Meaning the bounding box does not animate, but the image inside can grow, turn, etc.

Share for Review: Tracking Resolved Comments
While the Share for Review option is so handy for clients to make edits, it is a nightmare to track what has been implemented because as soon as the edit is resolved it becomes unmapped.
It is very hard to keep track of revisions so I would love a feature to glance back on previous versions (either by highlighting, creating a pdf including comments, or a window that you can click a page to see before and after results) to see where the markups where made. Clicking back to unresolved doesn't work because once a change is made the text…

Make UI Scaling NOT affect document scaling
The recently-added UI Scaling feature also scales the size my document is displayed! Why?? When I type command-1 to view my document at actual size, I expect an 8.5 x 11 page to be that size on the screen. But if I increase the scale of the UI (tools, pallets, etc.) it also increases the "actual size" scaling of my document so it's much bigger than it should be. So, in other words, the UI scaling should NOT affect the scaling of the document rulers; 1" should always be displayed at 1".

Format panel: Symbols for special keys
I use shortcuts for my paragraph formats quite structured: Command+NumPad-1 is the large headline b.e., Command+NumPad-2 the subline and Command+NumPad3 the main text. If there is an alternate version of these styles, for example a smaller variant or with a different font for certain elements I’d shortcut those with an additional Alt- or Control-key. However, a long description of a shortcut blends away the name in the Format panel – see screen shot attached. It would help if the shortcuts were shortened by displaying them (optionally) with symbols instead of key names, as shown in the second, simulated screenshot in…
