  1. Procentual increasing of font size

When a text box has multiple text sizes and you want to increase all the sizes, it would be great to be able to do that with for example procentual increasing.

  2. Pair Kerning

There are many occasions where a specific pair of letters do not kern properly, such as ". I would like to be able to select the pair of letters from a particular font that I want kerned throughout an InDesign document, and have them automatically kerned. I don't want to have to apply a style to each instance, or find and replace each instance.

  3. Hyperlinks from word

It would be good/wonderful, if the hyperlinks from a word document would import like the endnotes and footnotes. Right now it takes a lot of my time to enter them manually in long documents. When you have approximately 10-15 hyperlinks per page in a 60 pages documents it takes too much times...

  4. Add option To Find/Change dialog box to search within notes and conditional text

I would like an option to search within notes and conditional text. In the Find/Change dialog box, there are options on what to search through: Document, Selection, Story, Include Master Pages, etc. There should also be options to search for text in hidden conditional text, as well as in Notes. Please see the attached mock-up User Interface changes for the Find/Change dialog box.

  5. Threaded Text in Tables

This feature will allow text threading via table cells to flow the text across the table.

This will personally help me because I need to colorize specific areas while keeping the text flow. A table is the only real place I can do this.

  6. Make editing of hidden Conditional Texts easier

When working on texts with hidden conditional texts in it, I frequently have to do corrections inside the hidden texts either. It would be great, if hidden conditional text would be visible and editable e.g. in the story editor, without changing the visibility in the conditional text panel.

Or make it expandable in the story editor by clicking on the eye symbol ...

  7. Replace all missing glyphs

Option in the find replace dialogue to replace all missing glyphs, not just swapping one glyph for another. As far as I know, you have to go one by one throughout a document. The find/replace Opentype feature (text tab hasn't worked for me either.)

  8. Kerning Editor (with individual margin alignment options)

A Kerning Editor would fit nicely into the kerning feature, which allows to choose between optical, metrical kerning. The user would define his own kerning names.
The Kerning Editor has a GUI which allows the user to define his own kerning pairs which override the metrical ones defined in the font's kerning tables. There I can load the metrical kerning or the optical kerning as a start for my individual kerning.
Furthermore the new Kerning Editor has two more tokens/glyphs to kern with: the left and the right margin of a text frame. So the user can define his own…

  9. Enable copy-paste of text / text frames without breaking cross references

Today, copying a text frame with cross references breaks them - including copying text with cross references. This is very problematic and very difficult to discover during editing - and the only solution is to create the cross reference manully again. Very cumbersome.

  10. edit text variable directly

Rather than having to dig down through menus to edit a variable, have it editable directly from the RMB contextual menu in the layout.

  11. Bold & Underline Styles.

CMD+B and CMD+U to cycle through Bold or Underline Styles through a popup window would be handy.

  12. add Latin dictionary

Include a Latin dictionary in InDesign's default dictionary. It would be nice not to have to tell InDesign to ignore every instance of various scientific terms, or Latin mottos, etc.

  13. Make the standard fonts within InDesign and other Adobe design softwares ALL the same across both the Mac and PC platforms.

I am a college student studying graphic design. In my classes the school provides Apple Mac computers to do our in class work. However, I own a Windows Surface Laptop. So when I need to finish projects outside of the classroom it is very frustrating to choose a font on the Mac only to have it changed because the font is not available/has to be imported on the Windows PC (vice versa). I understand that the platforms are very different from each other, but it is the same software. How hard can it be for Adobe to make the fonts…

  14. Please implement support for fast entry of Mac OS accented chars asap

Mac OSX now supports accents very cleanly and simply c/o press and hold briefly (a, e whatever) then your accent choices display as in the attached screengrab. This feature is supported in all Mac apps, email clients, etc etc ... even dare I type, MS Word v15.40 (171108). But not InDesign (yet ... as of 13.0.1). Very disappointing for a s/w vendor that is otherwise at leading edge of all things creative design / innovative UIs ...

  15. Spellcheck only "real" copy.

Add an option in "Check Spelling" to tell it to "ignore automatically generated placeholder text". So that Spellcheck would flag only real copy. I often use both in my documents and it's hard to check a 40-pg document when it keeps stopping at several paragraphs of placeholder text.

  16. Font stack for missing glyphs

Not every base text font has all the glyphs I sometimes need -- some need only a few math or Greek symbols, others need Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, or even Devanagari. Currently I manually hunt and pick them from the closest alternative, selecting glyphs from a font CLOSE ENOUGH right down to the ever-reliable fallbacks of Times New Roman and Arial Unicode MS. It would help if I could define a custom font stack per "base font": a list of alternatives in a Preferred Order, which would each in turn be scanned for missing glyphs. Kind of (well, exactly like)…

  17. Dictionaries

Please, simplify already the installation of dictionaries based on Hunspell! It's not that complicated ...! but it is so useful!

  18. Turn off 'missing fonts' alert

A setting (with no docs open) that says "don't alert me to missing fonts" when I open a doc. It would be just like the "don't ask me about missing links" setting - which we like in the studio. Because sometimes we need to check lots of docs for something (could be a house style thing, a find-replace thing, a colour check thing etc) but don't want to be 'font-alerted' at this stage. The warning seems too pedantic when we're nowhere near final production stages...

  19. Please allow font size larger than 1296 pt

I often have to create large posters with a single 3-digit price and 1296pt font isn't cutting it. I have to outline and then enlarge which is a pain when changes need to be made but it i also cannot standardize this element with a style, master page or template. Same for illustrator.

  20. TABS dialog box - so very tiny...

Am I the only person who finds the Tabs dialog box ridiculously small and difficult to work with? Even if you zoom right into text, the box itself remains the same. In trying to move the indent markers I'm constantly creating unwanted new tab markers which can be easily deleted, but still annoying. Any words of wisdom?
