hyperlink
Currently if we embed URL link- hyperlink highlighting the word within a hidden text box, the link does not work. We have to create a multi-step setup using the Object States panel so the box appears before the link can be clicked. We have to create the text box for the hyperlink, having to match the line and indentation is a painful process when you decide to edit the main text box. There are few other steps to enabling this hyperlink box work, creating a trigger button etc. This seems quite inefficient and was hoping Adobe could enable users to…

Avoid repeated line beginnings and endings in Paragraph Composer
Avoid repeated line beginnings and endings in Paragraph Composer
In professional book typesetting, repeated beginnings or endings on consecutive lines can create distracting visual patterns. For example, several consecutive lines may begin with the same short word (“de”, “the”, “of”, etc.) or end with the same letters, syllables, words, or word endings.
There are third-party tools that can detect some of these repetitions after the text has already been composed, but correcting them manually is extremely time-consuming. Fixing one occurrence may also recompose the paragraph and create another repetition a few lines later.
InDesign already evaluates alternative line breaks, hyphenation…

Text variables with autosize frame
Please add a feature to InDesign so that text frames with auto-size enabled will function properly when text variables are inserted into them. This would eliminate the need to convert the displayed text variable to regular text, while still allowing the frame to auto-size normally.

Option to set triple click to select the line WITHOUT selecting the new paragraph symbol
Sometimes you just want to copy the line without having to delete the new paragraph start ever time you paste.

Allow use of numerical font weights instead of labels
Please include an option to use font numerical weights in paragraph/character styles. Font weight labels are not standardized among fonts. A variant could be labelled Normal, Book, Regular, Roman, or any other label that the font foundry thought was a good idea at the time. That means in my character style menu, there are many different labels corresponding to the same weight.
If InDesign internally tracked its weights numerically, I wouldn't have to use a separate character style for different uses of Semibold just because one foundry calls it "Semi Bold" or "SemiBold" or "SemiBd". CSS has this feature even…

The quick color change for a text field should change the cointaining text color.
The quick color change for a text field should change the cointaining text color instead. The text box color control can rely on a button for selection of itself that then changes interaction of quick color controls. ****, put it in place of the OpenType button that is pretty useless to many (I for one ONLY click it accidentaly and it makes me crazy, but that's another ticket).
It's incredibly impressive how simple and intuitive this should be. The logic... This is extremely valuable to me because since text inside InDesign irreversably ceases to be editable once Ctrl+Shift+O (Outline Txt)…

Feature Request: Fill Frame With Placeholder Text
Illustrator features the ability to drag a text block and have it filled with placeholder text. Why doesn’t InDesign have that? In InDesign, we first have to create the text block and then choose Fill With Placeholder Text. Why not mirror what Illustrator does?

Add toggle checkbox in spell checker for "Case Sensitive" so you can turn it off when needed.
There are so many false positives when I use spell check, because it treats everything as a sentence. So all bullet points with uppercase style, every bit of text like websites, "mm" "cm" etc. get flagged for the first letter not being capitalized. I'd like a toggle check box named "Case Sensitive" so that I can uncheck it when working in documents that don't require a check for capitalization. Because not every text box in my document houses a grammatically correct sentence. This will speed up the process for the types of documents that I work on.

Generate Text - Shorten to fix overset
Useful option within the Generate Text function would be to rewrite/shorten the selected text to fit the available space in order to remove overset. It'd be ideal if this could be handled like a find/replace whereby the user could step through the document moving from each overset frame.

Text Variables: option to replace Tabs
Currently, a tab in a paragraph (heading) carries into a text variable that is sourced from that paragraph style, causing major spacing headaches. There should be an option in Edit Text Variable window to replace tab with a user-defined number of spaces (or any other characters, while you're at it).

Feature Request: Language-Aware Punctuation Correction in "Refine Your Text" (Generate Panel)
Hi Adobe InDesign Team,
I would like to request an enhancement to the "Refine Your Text" option available under the Generate panel (similar to the Rewrite feature).
Feature Request: Automatic Punctuation Correction Based on Script/Language
What I need:
When a paragraph is selected, I would like an option under "Refine Your Text" that:
1. First reads and analyzes the selected paragraph
2. Then intelligently applies correct punctuation — but based on the language/script of the text, not a universal ruleThe core problem:
Currently, punctuation correction tools apply English/Latin punctuation rules universally. This breaks Urdu, Arabic, and Persian text because…1 vote -
Allow text to show outside of the text frame when the last item in a Flex Layout
When a text box is used in a Flex Layout in a vertical orientation and is the last item, any letters that render below the base line (aka descenders -> y, j, p, q), the flex box trims the text making these letters unreadable. The only workaround is manually extending the text box height to include the descender. However, when done, this affects the spacing of the Flex Layout.
In a situation where you have individual items (example- a list of events) you want a uniform spacing between the event title, date, time, and location replicated across multiple events. For…

Split “Hyphenate Across Columns” into Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Across Columns option into separate settings:
- Hyphenate Across Columns
- Hyphenate Across Text Frames
- Hyphenate Across Pages
- Hyphenate Across SpreadsThese are different typographic cases. In many layouts, hyphenation only needs to be prevented across spreads, sometimes across pages, while it should remain allowed across columns and text frames.

Split Hyphenate Capitalized Words into Two Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Capitalized Words option into two separate settings:
- Hyphenate ALL-CAPS words
- Hyphenate Words Beginning with a Capital LetterThese are different typographic cases. Acronyms and all-caps abbreviations often should not be hyphenated, while proper names or capitalized words in titles may need normal hyphenation.

Sync Font Favorites between InDesign and Illustrator
Sync Font Favorites between InDesign and Illustrator and keep them safe between updates. This is a very important feature for designers since it takes time to curate a list of favorite fonts and to repete that in other Adobe apps is cumbersome and time consuming and prone do diferences between them.

Does the font selection in the Paragraph Styles panel not support autocomplete suggestions?
When selecting a font.
The Paragraph Styles panel has no filter or autocomplete feature.Just like in the Control Panel, where font selection is filtered and suggested as you type.
This feature seems to be missing in the Paragraph Styles panel, the Find and Replace Fonts panel, and the Composite Font Settings.
It’s very inconvenient.I wonder if there will be improvements in version 2026.
Also, it’s very inconvenient that you can’t quickly jump to the current font’s position in the font list.

Add sentence case to character options
Add sentence case to the character options (alongside all caps, small caps, lowercase, etc.). My clients often send content with titles typed in all caps, and I’d like a quick, reliable way to convert them to sentence case (and/or title case).

Spell check
My biggest frustration is the mediocre or completely missing spell check. It may work in English, but unfortunately not in Dutch. For me, and I believe for many others as well, this could be a great update.

Subject: Request for 'Point Type' tool in InDesign (Like Illustrator)
Hi Adobe Community and Team,
I am transitioning from CorelDRAW and Illustrator to InDesign for my publication projects. While I understand that InDesign is frame-based, I find it very cumbersome that we cannot simply click and type without manually creating a text frame first.
In Illustrator, we have 'Point Type' where a single click allows us to start typing immediately. This would be a huge time-saver for small labels, page headers, or quick annotations in InDesign as well.
Is there any plan to introduce a 'Point Type' behavior or a shortcut to create a text frame with a single click…

Place and Link to user to work without having to map new styles
To the InDesign Product Team,
I am writing to provide feedback on the Place and Link (Content Collector) workflow. While the ability to sync text content across a document is invaluable, the current implementation of the "Parent-Child" relationship is overly restrictive and creates significant manual rework for designers.
The Problem: Currently, when a Parent object is updated, the Child object frequently reverts its font size, frame dimensions, and character treatment to match the Parent—even when "Preserve Local Overrides" is enabled. While "Style Mapping" exists as a workaround, it is an overly complex solution for a simple design need: keeping the…
