1. play video without controls

   Please make it possible to hide the controls of a video clip - so its working in Publish online (right now its only working in PDF exports.

   With this we could make amazing publish documents with integrated video backdrops of skys, fires or rain.. With all the NON VIDEO CONTROL goodness.

   What im trying to say is video without controls can do magical things (like we could back in the good days of ... Flash.. the good days right... :)

2. Please allow font size larger than 1296 pt

   I often have to create large posters with a single 3-digit price and 1296pt font isn't cutting it. I have to outline and then enlarge which is a pain when changes need to be made but it i also cannot standardize this element with a style, master page or template. Same for illustrator.

3. Indexes

   When creating an Index, you are limited to populate ONLY one Index style format. If you want create more Indexes like the Index format, you can't, you are forced to use the Table of Contents style. Look at MS Word, you can create a General Index, a Index of Cases and Index of Figures.

   My suggestion: improve the Index function with the ability to create multiple Indexes, that follow the actual Index format (not the Table of Contents Format)

4. Bring Back the DPI!

   Dear Adobe,
   How could you get rid of the term DPI, especially in InDesign, and replace it with PPI?!!!! As a print designer for the last 15 years, it breaks my heart to see that the premiere software company for designers has abandoned a term that is part of the fundamental lexicon of graphic design. I am a print designer at a CA State University and it kills me that our graphic design students graduate with an BA in Art/Graphic Design without having set foot inside a print shop! Now, the software they use to layout printed pieces doesn't even reference the the dot of ink used to create the finished piece. Adobe software sets the standard for design software tools. Don't lower the bar by erasing the language and history of graphic design. Young designers need to understand that all the pretty PPI on the screen gets transformed into pretty DPI on the page. Print is not dead Adobe. Bring back the DPI!

5. Isolate levels in a group

   Be able to double click to reach a group object but isolate all the objects in that grouping level, e.g:
   You have a placed graphic with flyouts or annotations but if its grouped and more often than not you have to double-click edit and exit the group and keep double-clicking until you reach your desired object.

6. Extended "apply next stlye" feature

   I'm looking for a feature where you can force-apply the "next style".
   tl;dr: Force the "apply next style" to existing and already style paragraphs.
   For example: When you create a headline-style and define another stlye as following "next stlye" everything is fine as long as you enter your text in InDesign. But if you're working with a text that is already written you don't want to use the option "apply style and next stlye" with every single headline. I want it to be automated.
   What I want is: A feature that forces any already styled paragraphes to apply the next style for the next paragraph.
   There is already a script called "Change Consecutive Paragraphs" by id-extras. It does the job but it's another 50$. It would be really helpful if it was a default feature.
   PS: Sorry, English isn't my mother tongue.

7. Allow paragraph shading to end at each line without forced line break

8. So many bugs. Fix them. Like Package, or being able to use GPU performance to name a couple.

   When will an update be available to fix some or all of the issues with InDesign CC 2017? It is not worth the monthly fee as is.

   Sorry Barry seeing you face so many issues with InDesign. We are working towards making InDesign a more stable application and also fixing behavioural issues.

9. Links panel - use arrow keys to view each linked file's attributes

   Often in large documents i like to check the attributes (ex. color space, effective PPI, etc.) of each linked file in the "Links" panel before packaging everything for the print company. Would be really nice to be able to use the arrow keys to move up and down this list instead of having to click on each file individually.

10. Convert graphics from RGB to CMYK

    I use InDesign for a lot of print layout, and often graphics used/supplied (stock, photographs, etc.) are in RGB format. But for print I need these in CMYK format, and since ideas for which graphics to use and layouts change often before finalization I wait until the final OKs are given before converting graphics to CMYK.

    The way I see this working is through the "Links" tab, although perhaps it could be done through the "Package..." function. In the Links tab, it would give me the option of right-clicking an RGB file and within that popup menu give me the option to convert the source file to CMYK. That way I don't have to open everything individually in Photoshop, convert the files then save them.

    Otherwise, if this could be done through "Package..." that could work as well. Upon first exporting the Export dialog box warns about all RGB files that are linked. Perhaps there could be a checkbox somewhere to either convert the source files to CMYK, or just collect the linked files then convert them to CMYK thus leaving the source files as RGB?

11. Stop turning all your products into Canva

    The pop ups and changes to the UI are unnecessary and disruptive to decades of established workflow. Stop treating your established customer base like they're idiots and not design professionals. If wanted to use Canva I would.

12. Not currently able to change the location of InDesign GenAI Assets.

    I want to be able to have the InDesign GenAI folder on an exernal SSD or Dropbox like the assets in Premiere/After Effects.

13. Option to Set Default Save Location for AI-Generated Content to Project Folder in InDesign

    Thank you for introducing the new AI-powered image generation feature in InDesign.
    I would like to suggest an improvement to the way AI-generated content is stored. Currently, these assets are saved by default to the local user folder, which can become problematic when multiple team members need to collaborate on a project. Since the assets are not stored within the shared project folder, this can lead to missing files or confusion when the document is opened by someone else.

    It would be highly beneficial to have an option that allows users to set the default save location for AI-generated content directly to the project folder. This would ensure that all assets are easily accessible and properly organized within team environments.

14. Need to View and Edit Alt Text in InCopy

    As an editor I need to be able to preview Alt text for Images and also edit that Alt Text if needed. Currently I need to go to Indesign to do that.

15. "Create Outlines" should automatically "convert bullets and numbering to text" first.

    Currently you have to remember to select "Convert bullets and numbering to text" before you also select "Create Outlines." This should not be a two part process as there would never be a time when a designer would suddenly want the bullets and numbers to disappear when making outlined text for a printer.

16. Emoji for Print: Update EmojiOne Color and Support COLR Fonts

    I work for a large book publisher and more and more books (especially YA) include a lot of emoji. To the point that having to replace all emoji with art is a tedious process. For workflow efficiency and for accessibility issues, we utilize emoji fonts and convert them to outline, then color correct for print (grayscale or CMYK). That way we can support diverse emoji and preserve the unicode values so that characters are maintained as manuscripts go from Word to InDesign.

    Right now, emoji fonts that support shading and skin tone/hair color options come in two flavors--OpenType SVG and OpenType COLR. Neither is supported by print PDF standards. OpenType COLR is not yet supported in Adobe software. We are limited to OpenType SVG, which we have to convert to outline to export to PDF (for print standards and for colorspace). We are further limited by the individual font behavior of convert to outline (for example, Noto Emoji Color SVG has horrible character fidelity when converted to outline).

    Adobe's emoji font, EmojiOne Color, version 1.0000, only has emoji up to unicode 9.0, which was released in 2016. Any newer emoji are not available.

    My requests:
    --Update EmojiOne Color with new emoji releases and keep it up to date.
    --Add support for OpenType COLR in Adobe software.
    --(The Dream): Create an emoji font designed for print that:
    +Has CMYK or Grayscale options (emoji fonts are web based and RGB [we would still need RGB for ebook], but putting this thought out there to not forget print)
    +Has shading so that skin tones, hair options, etc. are possible.
    +Uses emoji unicode
    +Works in Adobe software, exports to PDF and embeds for print, is supported in EPUB.

17. InDesign home screen options

    It would be great if on the InDesign home screen you could:
    • sort recent jobs by name
    • display preview icons at different sizes, and
    
    • have an X to remove a file from your recent jobs preview list.

18. Package certain pages from an InDesign file.

    It'd be great to be able to package certain pages from an InDesign file. Eg.: four pages in the middle of a 230 page document. Package a working file, fonts, art, PDF etc.

19. QR error correction level

    It would be nice to have more control over the QR code generator. To be more specific: add the option to choose de Error Correction Level of the code.
    That way we can make small codes smaller, (especially in combination with a url-shortner) or normal codes slightly bigger to have enough error correction to have a gap in the middle (for a logo).
