Search for missing links
When links are broken on our shared server, I manually need to type the name of the link to begin a search for it. Some file names are very complicated. It would be nice if the link name was already written in the input field or even better a button in the links panel that searches for the link and replaces it. Most often the link has just changed place on the server but has the same name.

Auto-filling the file name in search bar when re-linking / replacing missing links would be immensely helpful for me too. For me, it is often easier to perform a search for the file name rather than navigating through multiple depths of folders. An option to auto-fill the file name rather than manually typing it would make this regular task much smoother.
I regularly collaborate with other designers and am constantly re-linking files when someone else has created or edited the design file or when projects are re-organized. So the task of replacing missing links really adds up.

I came here to ask for the same thing. We have to deal with missing links all the time and typing the name into the search field seems silly. Sometimes it’s also hard to see what the name of the file you’re supposed to be searching for is too, due to truncation.
InDesign could be so much smarter when it comes to restoring links!
