Content aware fitting should not apply to placed images in a document
'Content aware fitting' conflicts with checkbox 'autofill'-preference in application-bar.
I assumed content aware fitting would only apply on newly placed images.
When I want to relink an earlier placed image with content aware fitting 'ON' the relinked image is auto fitted in a way I don't want.
The mention check-box would be ideal to let InDesign know I don't want to fit contant aware after the initial placing of content.

needs work!
refinement, nuanced, realistic, customized options for placing images & pdfs into object boxes etc. -

I've run into this issue as well on important projects where assets that have been placed, move when relinking.

Content-aware fitting MUST not apply to the placed files in the document!!
Please, Adobe! We have ads placed in the document and when we update one, even with minor changes like one symbol Indesign repositions it! Very bad idea. Yes, I can disable the feature by default, but I think it's better not to touch the placed files. Or at least put an option for that in the preferences.
