An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedWell, this issue came up recently at the Adobe InDesign forum:

An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Kelly,
"hiding" a table column is possible by scripting if the column contains text only. To avoid overset text all the text in that row can be done with conditional text where the condition is set to invisible.Entirely "hiding" a row is not possible. Even by scripting.
It once was with older InDesign versions like CS4 or CS5.See some samples tables in that document:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfullcko0ff6f6r/200725-1-Tables-HiddenColumns-vs-HiddenRows-15.1.1.103.indd?dl=1Other constraints: If you have a numbered list you cannot set the auto numbers to conditional text, I think.

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.List of fixed issues can be found at: helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.html

InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Abhinav,
maybe that this particular issue is fixed with InDesign CC 2019 version 14.0.1.But: With InDesign 2020 version 15.0.2 and on to the current version 15.1.1.103 I also see a delay when switching tools to the Type Tool. A delay of about 3 to 5 seconds. Sometimes only one second. It seems that this only happens with documents that use a Document fonts folder to get the needed and used fonts.
The problem goes away if I move the Document fonts folder to the InDesign Fonts folder in the Application folder. But this is only a workaround, no real solution.

Uwe Laubender
( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Lucie,
what's your operating system?I cannot see a delay anymore. Even when working on with other text frames.
I'm on Windows 10.Regards,

( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Abhinav,
yes! The new build on prerelease, version 14.0.1.207 fixed the issue with the delay when the Control panel was open.Tested on my German Windows 10 machine.

( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedWell, it does happen with a placed PNG with transparency.
It will not happen with a placed TIFF 1-Bit without any transparency.
Seems the cause is the kind of image or transparency. Or both. Will test on with other image types.

( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Eric,
I can see this as well. Voted for fixing the issue.
My placed image was a PNG file with transparency (if that matters).I'm on Windows 10 and tested with the German versions of InDesign 2020 and 2019.

An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi together,
as far as I can see and is installed on my Windows 10 machine the final bug-fix version of InDesign CC 2018 is version: 13.1.1.110. This is an authorized version in contradiction to InDesign versions 8 or InDesign versions 9. I cannot understand why an installer for this bug fix is not available through Adobe servers.Regards,

Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Ravi,
thanks for the update! Is the exact version number 15.1.1.103 ?
Regards,
Uwe Laubender
( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Luca,
instead of 15.1.0.25 you could install 15.0.3. that's the version before.
There is compatibility between the two versions, means: You can open 15.1 documents with 15.0.3.Regards,

( ACP )Uwe Laubender supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi together,
after some tests I did with all six available paragraph composers and one text variable I can see the bug with:Adobe World-Ready Single-line Composer
Adobe World-Ready ComposerNot with:
Adobe Single-line Composer
Adobe Paragraph Composer
Adobe Japanese Single-line Composer
Adobe Japanese Paragraph ComposerAnd this without opening an old InDesign document.
All tests done directly with a new document in InDesign 15.1.0.25.Tested text variable: The auto page number everyone is using for displaying the current page number or page name.

Hi,
Thanks for reporting the issue. The crash/protective shutdown is reproducible at our end.-Aman
An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Aman,
also ran into that issue. With InDesign 2020 version 15.0.3.425.
Fixing this bug may have been low priority, but please add a note of a possible crash to:https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/data-merge.html
PrerequisitesThere should be a third prerequisite to be on the save side:
All elements on masters should be unlocked. All layers should be unlocked. Thanks,
Uwe Laubender

Pages with video content don't load correctly
andreafalible, Jul 20, 2020
https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/pages-with-video-content-don-t-load-correctly/td-p/11300218
NOTE: The solution I suggested in this thread and that was marked "Correct" is just a workaround:
"Use Firefox on Mac OS X instead of Apple's Safari browser."
Don't know if Adobe can do something. Maybe the issue is with Safari?
Perhaps Adobe could do a special fix if Safari is detected by an Pubkish Online document?
