An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOne and a half years later and the menu mixup problem persists, despite several InDesign updates and my installing ID on a new machine. Fortunately restarting ID still resolves the problem, if only for a few days.
Anonymous shared this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWorking with InDesign CC19 (14.0.1) on 2 monitor Mac OS 10.13.6 and I'm having issues where menu selections open wrong panels. It's very strange...the only way to avoid is restarting the program. Example: when I choose File>File info I get the Print Dialogue panel. The exact same thing happens when I select File>Package. On top of this transforms stop working intermittently (horizontal or vertical flip) whether using the control panel or through menu bar. Last week's maintenance upgrade didn't help.

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while; we really appreciate your support!
Our investigation suggests that one of common reasons for the problem is that certain software (mostly antivirus and other security applications) and browser extensions happen to enable “Secure Keyboard Entry” on Mac machines due to which some keys such as Shift key in this case do not perform the desired action in InDesign.
For now I request you to follow the below provided KB doc for the quick workaround of the problem.
https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/features-do-not-work-keyboard-keys-mac.htmlIn the comments section many of the users have confirmed that disabling Webroot SecureAnywhere (a security app) has resolved the issue for them. Please note that, the problem may not be related to a particular software; there could be a different application or antivirus which might be causing the problem by enabling Secure Keyboard Entry on Mac.
Regards,
Abhinav Kaushik
InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI don't have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed either.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedNever had this issue before...just updated to ID CC2019 and clicking shift-scale works up to a certain point. When enlarging an image, scaling remains proportional until mouse reaches a few cm above document bounds (and into the canvas), at which point I lose proportion control.
Note: I tried removing "PSUserConfig.txt" from my PS CC13 prefs folder (which I installed yesterday to bring back shift key behavior in Photoshop) and restarting, but problem remains.

Please update your InDesign to the latest version to try out the fixNote:
Since , this thread is mainly being tracked only for enable-ment of GPU functionality
Please report drawing related issue via other reported threads or new threads. An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedSame issue here using Radeon 7950. Supported by Photoshop and Illustrator, but not InDesign. As a result, working with only a few pages heavy with transparencies brings my Mac to a crawl.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI agree. It also makes comparisons between two headlines a pain.
