Placed Illustrator files do not show transparency correctly on GPU Preview
When placing an .ai file with transparency, the file renders without any alpha channel at all in GPU Preview. Switch to CPU Preview, and the .ai files render correctly. Transparency should be shown in both modes, right?

I can't believe this issue hasn't been fixed after what 5 years. iMac Vega 48. Removing ICC profiles and using Proxy vector display in ID preferences change nothing for me.

Same issue. The only fix I've found is to turn off "embed ICC profile" when saving the .ai file in Illustrator. With profiles embedded, anything below 100% opacity shows at 100%. This isn't much of a fix though, since I need those embedded profiles!
Anonymous's display changes work for me as well. As does saving over the file and not updating that modified content (likely for the same reason).
Really would like to know if this is normal behavior..?

UPDATE: Under GPU preview, I set Display Performance, Vector to Proxy, and the transparency appeared (mostly) correct. Switching the Display Performance, Vector to High Resolution resulted in the transparency not appearing. (Unless I switched to CPU Preview, which is not ideal.)
