Thanks for the info. This is indeed correct that since the various artboards come in as a layers the dimensions are of the entire document which can be problematic. Adding this to our backlog.

This should be basic functionality for programs that are made to work together by the same company. It is unbelievable that this is still the situation, three and a half YEARS after being listed as "in backlog". Not to mention that it should have worked correctly from the start.

This was filed as another bug here https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/33701143-page-panel-and-some-others-have-some-problems and closed because it couldn't be reproduced. But everyone who views pages horizontally is familiar with it.
It is very easy to reproduce. Open a document with enough pages that the Pages panel has a scroll bar on the right side. From the panel menu choose view pages horizontally. The last row of page numbers is unreadable.

Here's a video of the problem. Keep your eye on the vertical scroll bar. I'm using keyboard shortcuts to navigate through the document but the display doesn't change until I actually click on a page. https://app.screencast.com/ZKF4cOTw2HEhx?conversation=i9w5nTrwvUq2v8W9cqDy8S
