Hello All,
Kindly provide more information about this ask. How do you plan to use the Action Panel in InDesign? Do you want it to work exactly like that in Photoshop? What are the most important actions/operations that you want to record?
Thanks

We have recently started development work on Convert PDF to INDD. Going forward, we will keep adding more functionality and refining it.
The feature is available as a Beta feature in InDesign 19.5 Beta version, available via the CCD app.
Note: For now, it is available only when InDesign's install language is English (North America or International).
Please provide us feedback on this Beta feature. Looking forward to hearing your feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment caz brown commentedPossible solution for inserting the SAME object: position the first instance, then with the type tool, select the anchor point and 'cut' then 'paste'. Go to the next insertion point and 'paste'. Repeat throughout the document. I have styled the relevant headings so they are easy to find. NB: I tried using an object style, but couldn't get this to work.
For checkboxes, sometimes I use a dingbat/wingbat, adjust the size and offset amount then create a character style.

An error occurred while saving the comment caz brown commentedOn a PhD thesis, tables have to be placed at the top/bottom of the page.
The dialogue box could have 'next page' secondary option, i.e. if it doesn't fit, move it to top of next page.

Thank you all for the votes.
Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?
What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?
What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?
This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.

To 'clean up' manuscript files, I go through a series of text search and replaces, often in a specific order. Running these with a single Action would save so much time. My searches vary depending on the content, so I could set up various Actions accordingly. This may also include attaching a character style, e.g. if the character is a maths symbol requiring a font change, or italics for common Latin abbreviations in academic work.
