Restore “Next/Previous Window” shortcut functionality when Stage Manager is enabled
When using InDesign 2025 on macOS Tahoe with Stage Manager enabled, the Next Window (⌘`
) and **Previous Window** (⇧⌘`) shortcuts do not work. Even if the shortcuts are reassigned in Preferences, InDesign cannot cycle through open documents. What’s happening:
Stage Manager collapses all InDesign document windows into a single OS-level container. macOS then reports that InDesign has only one window, so InDesign’s “Next/Previous Window” commands never cycle. Why this is critical:
• Multi-document workflows are core to professional design.
• Losing the ability to quickly flip between open documents slows production work significantly.
• Competing macOS apps (Safari, Finder, Mail) handle this correctly with Stage Manager. InDesign should do the same.Requested behavior:
When Stage Manager is active and macOS reports only one window, InDesign should treat the Next/Previous Window commands as a request to cycle open document tabs, not OS-level windows. This would restore expected functionality without requiring users to disable Stage Manager — and keep InDesign consistent with Apple’s own pro apps.
Environment:
• InDesign 2025 (latest build)
• macOS Tahoe (latest release)
• Issue persists after preference reset, shortcut reassignment, and clean installWhen using InDesign 2025 on macOS Tahoe with Stage Manager enabled, the Next Window (⌘`

placed .svg - can't double click to select the svg content
Indesign 20.5, Windows 11, german
settings, perhaps relevant to the bug:
- is disabled: "highlight objects with selection tool"
- Extras > "Content Selection Tool" disabled/enabled – makes no differenceContext: you can double click pageItems with places images and vector graphics to move or scale the content.
With a placed SVG i can NOT double click to get to the the transformable orange content borders.I am forced to use either the "direct selection tool" (white arrow), the content selection tool (focus ring), or the "select content" icon in the controlpanel.
Can somebody confirm, please?

facing page bleed issue on pdf export
If I have facing pages setup with art that touches the inner page edge but does not go over that page border there is a tiny slice of that art that shows up when exporting a pdf. My client always notes it as an error. Example: left hand page has an image that fill the page and bleeds off the left but only touches the right hand side of the page. I use align to right of page so it is right on the edge. I export to pdf and a teeny tiny sliver of that image shows up on the right hand page. Evident when viewing the pdf as a single page. I have to move the image away from the edge by a 1/4 pt to fix.

Find/Replace doesn't jump to parent pages
ID version 20.5, Windows 11
Problem: when using the Find/Replace dialog, there is a switch to also search in parent pages. Usually, the find action would jump to the text it finds, but not to a parent page, at least not if the found text is in a locked text frame. But that's illogical. It could at least jump to that parent page. Whether it would mark the found text or not in the locked text frame, is discussable, but even that is no magic. Just mark the text, even if I, as user, cannot change it for the moment.ID version 20.5, Windows 11

stroke window - drop down menu options
Indesign 20.5
In the stroke window there is functionality issue in the drop down menus - 'type' and 'start/end' for arrows etc. The drop down menu does not stay open to select an option. Very annoying and can't add arrows to lines. Also noticing the issue is in the toolbar as well for strokes.1 vote -
Rulers units change from mm to point spontaneously
Very odd: my units of millimeters suddenly turn to points - without me even touching the rulers. Problem is that scripts I made, go haywire now that InDesign seems to go back to its native points? This must be a bug, as the scripts worked fine up till very recently. But it's not just in the scripts. When I look e.g. at corner options, all millimeters have been replaced by points as well.

Indesign rimane incastrato negli angoli

PDF comments import issues
PDF comments are imported in wrong places in the InDesign. If a text contains more than once in a frame, the comments are imported in improper position in the file. Samples files are uploaded for reference. Can you check and update.

bug
"In the 'Advanced' workspace ('Geavanceerd'), the 'Swatches' panel ('Stalen') does not open; instead, the 'Links' panel ('Koppelingen') always opens. In the 'Essentials Classic' workspace ('Essentiële werkruimte – Klassiek') it works correctly. This issue occurs in the Dutch-language version of InDesign and seems to be a bug in the workspace configuration."

CRASH
I downloaded the last version of adobe indesign. I also updated my Mac software. when I open indesign it opens normally, I can see the home page and even try opening a new file, choosing sizes and stuff. Once I click on create a little bar appears (its a floating bar that's always there when a file is open) but the rest of the page looks like the menu still. Im 100 sure its only indesign because illustrator works well

Duplicate files opening from the Book utility
InDesign CC2025 v20.5 / Mac Sequoia 15.6
Opened all the documents from the Book utility then using the Book utility to navigate between them. Unlike previous versions, the CC2025 version is opening duplicates of the document instead of navigating to the one that is already open.
I checked the same file in the older version of InDesign, CC2024. It worked correctly.
I have been using InDesign for 17 years and have always opened or navigating to the documents from within the book utility. This is the first time in all these years that I've had this issue. I didn't realize this at first. You don't necessarily see it happening. But when I was closing the individual documents, I noticed that I had 4 times the number of documents open than I should have.
Note: My files are on my laptop, not the network. And I am the only person working on them.
Consulted the internet. It stated the following:
This behavior of opening duplicates or files as read-only when working with InDesign book files, particularly in collaborative settings, has been reported as a bug in recent InDesign versions, including CC 2025.Here's a breakdown of the issue and potential workarounds:
The problem
InDesign book files are designed for collaborative work, allowing multiple users to access and edit different documents within the book. The software is supposed to show a lock icon next to a file if it's already open by another user, preventing others from opening it and making it read-only for them. However, in versions like InDesign CC 2025 (and potentially 19.4), this functionality is reportedly broken. The software allows multiple users to open and save changes to the same file simultaneously, leading to the creation of duplicate files.
This issue also manifests as files opening as "unsaved" specifically when launched from the Book panel, even though they open correctly from other locations, according to the Adobe Community.InDesign CC2025 v20.5 / Mac Sequoia 15.6

段落スタイルと文字スタイル編集でのいつも発生する1分ほどのフリーズ
I'm using [InDesign] 2025 in a Japanese environment. I mainly use it for book [DTP] and [Epub3] export.
I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue.
When editing paragraph styles and character styles, the program freezes for about a minute with each edit. When editing styles, I make changes in several places, which takes several minutes, making it extremely inefficient. In [InDesign] CS6, this process was instantaneous.
Please fix this as soon as possible.
Note that this editing freeze does not seem to be related to the size of the open document. It occurs even with small documents.
Thank you in advance.1 vote -
Bullets, Nested Style through End Nested Style Marker Causes Visible Shift
Indesign 2025, Mac OS Ventura 13.7.2
I've created a bullet style with a nested style that applies a character style to the type up through the first ":".
I duplicated that style and changed the nested style setting to apply the same character style up through the first "end nested style marker".
When I set a paragraph to the second style, the type shifts position. No other change was made to the second style other than changing the parameters of the nested style.
I have no idea why this is happening. I cannot find a baseline shift or other setting that would be causing this. The second bullet is in the same text box, is not in a table, and there is no other character style applied to the text or text box that I can see.
Note in the screen shot, the baseline of the second bullet in the right-hand text box is shifted down. It is set to the second style which is an exact duplicate of the first except the marker for the nested style is set to go through "end nested style" rather than a colon.

Feature Requests: Table Cell Intersection Styling and Multi-Page Table Cell Support for Merged Cells
Request 1: Multi-Page Table Cell Support for Merged Cells
Current Problem:
InDesign cannot break merged table cells across pages, creating significant limitations for complex hierarchical tables. When a merged cell spans more rows than can fit on a single page, the entire table becomes unviewable or requires manual workarounds.
Real-World Scenario:
• Level 1: A main category (e.g., "Strategic Goal") spans 30 rows
• Level 2: 30 detailed items, each in individual rows
• Current Issue: The merged cell cannot break across pages, making the table unusable
Proposed Solution:
Implement automatic cell threading for merged cells across page breaks, similar to Microsoft Word's functionality:
• Allow merged cells to split naturally at page boundaries
• Maintain visual continuity with repeated cell content or indicators
• Preserve cell formatting and styles across page breaks
• Optional: Add "Keep with next X rows" setting for better control
Technical Benefits:
• Maintains InDesign's superior table styling capabilities
• Enables complex document structures without design compromises
• Reduces manual workarounds and increases productivity
• Aligns with user expectations from other professional document toolsRequest #2: Table Cell Intersection Styling
Current Limitation:
Table cells cannot have rounded corners or customized intersection points because cells share borders rather than having independent edges.
Conceptual Innovation:
Instead of trying to add "corner radius" to cells (which is geometrically impossible with shared borders), introduce Intersection Point Styling.
Proposed Feature: "Intersection Styles"
Similar to current Line Styles, add styling options for where cell borders meet:
Intersection Style Options:
• Round: Curved intersection points
• Beveled: Angled corner cuts
• Notched: Small decorative cuts
• Custom: User-defined intersection shapes
• Weighted: Different styles based on border thickness
Implementation Details:
Current: Line Style (solid, dashed, dotted, custom)
Proposed: + Intersection Style (round, beveled, notched, custom)
Technical Precedent:
• SVG supports stroke-linejoin properties
• CSS has similar capabilities with border-radius and border-collapse
• Vector graphics software already handles line intersections
Benefits:
• Maintains table structure integrity
• Provides design flexibility without breaking functionality
• More logical than impossible "cell corner radius"
• Expandable system for future intersection decorationsImpact Statement:
These improvements would:
1. Eliminate major workflow barriers for complex document design
2. Distinguish InDesign further from competitors by solving real problems
3. Maintain InDesign's superiority in professional typography and layout
4. Address frequent user requests without compromising existing functionality
Both features leverage InDesign's existing strengths while addressing fundamental limitations that force users toward less capable alternatives for specific use cases.Request 1: Multi-Page Table Cell Support for Merged Cells
