  1. 'Share for review' showing name of a previously shared document, hasn't recognised which document to share

    InDesign 16.0
    Mac OS 10.15.7
    Chrome Version 86.0.4240.183

    Share for review should respond to whichever tab is in focus

    Steps to recreate.

    1. Have 2 InDesign documents you want to share for review
    2. Open one of the files
    3. Go to share and review, see the filename populated in the panel's field
    4. Create the share
    5. Open the other InDesign document
    6. Go to share and review

    Expected: Document that is in focus in the open tab is the file that is being shared

    Actual: Previous file's name is still populated. Changing it and sharing creates an error.

    And now this has happened, restarting…

  2. transparency effects: opacity, feather, outer glow not working

    transparency effects: opacity, feather, outer glow not working when working in / viewing open document or changing settings stays 100% when viewing open document or changing settings stays 100%

    PREVIEW is turned on too.

    INDESIGN 2021 v 16.0
    iMac 27-5K late 2015
    Mojave 10.14.6 (w/ 2 rounds of recent screwy apple updates for Mojave)
    24GB RAM

    if I create a pdf, it seems to. have been applied but I can't see the effects on the monitor display > high quality.

    CMD-H Hide Indesign not working via keyboard short cut NOR manual point & click

    osx 10.14.6 with 2 rounds of recent Mojave updates / total nightmares/ debacles caused by apple and apparently has lingering issues/bugs.
    iMac 27 5k late 2015

    adobe indesign cc 2019 v 14.0
    AND creative cloud updates not working: Page Unavailable, we can't load this content, please try again later. won't allow updates.

  4. Background Task Seems Stuck

    When I create a PDF using InDesign presets, the background task indicator keeps spinning and spinning. When I click on the indicator, I get a dialog box that tells me the name of the file that I exported with the status "Complete. See Alert." However, the alert area is empty. The only way to get it to stop, is to quit InDesign and restart.

  5. Alt-PgDn inserts glyph after moving to next spread

    InDesign 16.0 x64

    Normally (and on the MAC), the user can press Alt/Opt+PgDn to center the next spread on the screen.

    This is now broken on Windows. At least on the 2 PC's I use, both of which are up to date on Windows and Creative Cloud.

    What happens now is that when the Alt key is released, a glyph is inserted into the text. And this causes the display to jump back so the insertion point is visible on screen.

    Of course, if I'm not currently editing inside a text frame, the glyph doesn't appear, because there's no place for it…

  6. Filenames and Thumbnails on the Home screen are on top of each other

    Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server: 16.0
    Steps to reproduce the issues: Go to Home Screen
    Expected result: See recent files
    Actual result: I see the recent files but I can't read the filenames properly because they are on top of each other. The thumbnails are not aligned as well. Please see attached screenshot.

  7. InDesign crashes and content disappears

    InDesign sometimes crashes when saving, packaging, or exporting a file. It then corrupts file, removing content (entire text boxes are now empty). This is destroying files and setting me back hours in my workflow.

    1. Adobe InDesign 16.0
    2. Save/export/package
    3. Should have stable, usable files
    4. InDesign crashes and corrupts my source file

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Video recording of the crash?
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide the document(s)/asset(s) to us? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

  8. text turns into Symbols

    When I place a document from Word into InDesign and apply a paragraph style the fonts all change to Symbol font. This has been going on for years through multiple versions of the program. Can you please fix it? Or explain how to avoid it?

    Hey
    Trying to advertise online using InDesign CC 2021 v16.0,
    And receives an error message (Figure 4)
    1. Click on:
    digital publishing> publish online> And receives an error message <error # 503f: an unknown error occurred. retry after some time.

    Unable to publish a document in ePub / HTML / Publish to the Web.

    I will ask for help or a solution

  11. Scripts

    When I updated to InDesign 2021 (V 16.0), all my custom scripts and their associated keyboard shortcuts were gone.

    I had to go into my Applications/Adobe InDesign 2020/Scripts/Scripts Panel folder and copy them over into that same folder in the InDesign 2021 folder.

    Not sure if it's happening across the board, but thought I'd point out my experience.

  12. Helvetica Neue Packaging Issue

    Issues after updating to the latest version of InDesign. Helvetica Neue is not being recognized after update and will not display correctly. Screenshots attached for reference. Most typefaces are TTF. Was packaged and printed correctly on last version and now facing these issues.

  13. items are missing from artwork when i copy it from illustrator and paste it into indesign. So frustrating!!!!

    just make seamless copying/pasting between illustrator and InDesign.

    would be even better if you can open an Illustrator file with InDesign. or if you could make InDesign like a render queue so you can better compress and save your photoshop and illustrator files to pdfs and other file types

  14. InDesign: Nach Update auf 2021 ist komplettes Dokument zerschossen

    Hallo,
    nach dem wir von 2020 (15.1.2) auf 2021 (16.x.x) upgedatet hatten, hat es unsere kompletten Magazinseiten zerschossen. Headlines // Fließtexte etc wurden komplett durcheinander gerührt und nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle stehend angezeigt.

    Unsere kompletten Stilvorlagen (Absatz- und Zeichenformate) wurden total zerschossen.

    InDesign erschwert uns von Update zu Update unsere tägliche professionelle Arbeit.

    Wir sind nun erstmal wieder auf die alte Version gegangen, das hat zum Glück funktioniert – aber der Frust in der täglichen Arbeit bleibt!

    Wir können nicht ständig unseren kompletten Workflow umstellen! Das geht einfach nicht.

  15. Share For Review, only getting shape tool and pin tool.

    In share for review, I only see the pin tool and the shape tool. All of the other reviewing tools that I should be seeing are missing. They appear briefly and then disappear.

    If the Share for Review was created using the previous version of InDesign – InDesign 2020 (v 15.1/v15.1.1/v15.1.2), then only 2 Tools are visible in the browser – Pin and Draw.

    The new Text Tools in Share for Review – Highlight, Strikethrough, and Replace are available ONLY if :
    1) Share for Review is initiated from InDesign 2021.
    2) Opening a document that was created in an earlier version and initiating Share for Review from InDesign 2021.
    3) For Share for Review created from InDesign 2020 (v 15.1/v15.1.1/v15.1.2), you click on the Update Link button in the Share for Review panel in InDesign 2021. (You may have to hit the Refresh button in the browser if the Review was already open there).

  16. Publish online no longer allows hyphens and dashes in title

    Is this a new restriction or a bug. It started after the update to 2021 version.

  17. InDesign 2021 is not displaying my documents correctly

    I just opened my CV created in InDesign 2020 and after the update to 2021 font styles have changed and text is partially not displayed at all. This leads to the document's layout being off and not usable.
