Images or graphics disappear (Mac M1; Sonoma 14.5) (ID V19.4)
Hi, It
This Problem happen >> InDesign performance issue: Text disappears while editing <<
I'm unable to copy images or certain objects.
Images or graphics disappear, and I can't click or select them, even though they're still visible in the layer panel.
I've tried using the "Alternate" function, but the image still disappeared.1 vote -
InDesign - OneDrive- Sync problems
I have synchronized a OneDrive image folder without downloading the image files. When I drag an image directly into an InDesign page, the file usually was downloaded automatically. But now I get an error message that the file might be in use and can only be opened after another user has closed it. If I use Ctrl. + D to import the same image, it works. Is InDesign maybe too fast for OneDrive to give access to the file? My collegue doesn't experience this problem but works with the same InDesign version and file directory.

Linked .Ai path info doesn't match Bridge link info
Since Uservoice for Bridge was shut down, I'm posting here. My InDesign document (latest update installed) correctly shows the path to a linked Illustrator file. In Bridge (latest update installed), the link references the same file through a OneDrive path that does not exist.
I would like to report this to the Bridge team, but I'm not sure how. Or perhaps the InDesign team will know what's going wrong. Getting correct link info from Bridge seemed (at first) like vital capability for complex books with nested links to external files.

Placed image is partially outside frame
When I place an image and drag a custom size for the placed image, the image is outside of the frame.
Note that this doesn't happen if you simply click when placing, but does happen if you click and drag when placing.
This has just started happening. Usually the image is within the frame.
Video attached.

Bad bug when previewing image area beyond the picture box crop
There’s a terribly bad bug when previewing image cropping. If you click on an image and hold the cursor down, to preview the image area beyond the picture box window, InDesign literally moves the image inside by a few pixels, so, a) it doesn’t accurately show where you HAD the image placed, and b) you always have to Undo Move Item to restore where you had it placed, which makes picture cropping preview completely useless.
A simple fix would be to show a ghost of what is being cropped when you select the image so that it shows the move…

Photoshop Layers Not Displaying or Exporting Correctly from InDesign 2024
Using InDesign 19.3 and placing (via link) a layered PSD into layout, preferred layer visibility (as spec'd in import options) is failing.
Layer is part of a Group in Photoshop; part of the group is visible, part isn't (when viewed in InDesign).
It isn't just a preview issue, because if I export a PDF from ID, the layers aren't visible in the PDF either.
For now, my workaround is to use an earlier (2023) version of InDesign. The layers in my linked PSD preview and export correctly using the earlier version.
I've tried recreating the missing elements (rules) in Photoshop…

Setting defaults for anchored objects doesn't work
I'd really like to be able to set defaults for how an anchored object attaches to the text when I drag to anchor it. Right now it attaches from the bottom right. I'd like to be able to set that to fit my needs.

Graphic was exported and printed as gray "fast display" placeholder
I exported a book and checked that with preflight for missing linked images and correct printing resolutions. everything came back ok. however one picture was not correctly linked and exported as the gray placeholder usually seen when "fast display" is enabled.
Apparently, the resolution of the gray placeholder is high enough as not to trigger the "too low res"-preflight setting of the printer. They did flag a different picture, which i replaced, but this square was undetected.
The image was "corrected" by relinking it, even though the linked path was correct and it did not show up in the linkpanel…

cant drag object
In the middle of working on a document and suddenly can't drag or duplicate objects (alt - drag).
Indesign is fully up to date. Windows 11.
I am so freaking sick of all of these bugs. I pay enough for these programs to not cause me so much wasted time. I'm so done. Anyone have a good alternative to Adobe that they like?
I see some old posts about people having this issue with Photoshop open. I do not have Photoshop open and haven't used it all day.

QR code
We created business cards for 20 of our employees with a QR-code showing their contact details.
On more than half of these, the QR-code works correctly on Android but says "no usable data found" on iPhone.1 vote -
InDesign Element changed/defective GREP-Styles after adding it to the cc library
Indd Version 2022, 17.2.1
The following Bug occurs: I created an Indd Element with assigend object- and paragraph styles using GREP-styles. If I copy that Element from document to document, it will work just fine. Once I add it to the cc library, the GREP-Styles become defective, even though nothing was changed.
The defective Styles then stay within that one element.futhermore, any object styles using auto-sizing are deformed when placing them from the library.
the screenshot with the superscript 1 is correct, once in libraries, the 1 won't be superscript anymore.
The torn yellow box is what happens once…

Can't place jpgs at actual size.
It would be amazing if you could place jpgs at actual size instead of InDesign placing them at sizes that are apparently (based on resolution?)
If I have an 5 inch square jpg file, the resolution should not have anything to do with what size it places at. If it is 5x5 and 300 dpi, and I place it in InDesign, it should be 5x5. If I have a 5x5 jpeg that is 50 dpi, and I place it in InDesign, it should also be 5x5 after placing. I shouldn't have to SCALE something I place to get it to…1 vote -

QR generated by text variable
Would be great if you could generate a QR Code from a text variable. Just for automation purposes. For instance on datasheets or brochures, where a single URL is used throughout in text, but also as a QR code on the last page.

Input Options for Place aren't remembered
When I go to place a page from a pdf into an indesign document, the selection is set to transparent. I uncheck transparent, but I have to do that again each time I place a new page. The crop options don't stay either. Can't this be remembered?

Relink missing image - InDesign shows wrong file name
If an image (a link) is missing in the InDesign document, then there is a red circle with a white question mark on the image in the document and on the link in the Links panel. When I double click on the red circle in the Links panel, a file explorer window opens, and that window shows the right image file name in the "File name" text field. But if I double click the red circle that is on the image inside the InDesign document, then the file explorer shows the wrong file name. It shows the name of the…
