Major System Font Issue!
WHAT THE FONT!?!
Our publishing company recently ran the InDesign update (to 15.0.2) and have discovered some major font issues. I have narrowed it down to InDesign 15.0.2, macOS Catalina 10.15.3, and Suitcase Fusion 21.0.0. I actually don't think Suitcase has too much to do with this, because the problem occurred after the InDesign update, but it's our font management software so I'm including it. Basically it appears system fonts have become problematic with InDesign. Packaged files are suddenly showing up with lots of the dreaded pink. I have tested about everything I can. I even created some very simple type only files that are having system font issues as well. Sometimes the document will open ok and the fonts will appear fine. Then when I go to export, the system fonts turn pink. Sometimes the file can't open the fonts at all and they start out and remain highlighted pink. Other times it will open but them shut off a few seconds later. It's only happening with system fonts. I have included screen shots for reference. I hope this issue can be fixed asap because it's font chaos over here! Thank you.
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.1
Please update to this version to get the fix.

I am having a similar issue. I just uploaded the new update an now all the files that I created before the update show the dreaded pink highlights. However if I create a new document using the exact same font then all is ok. but i can t re-write all the docs that would suck

I finally updated to 15.03 hoping to fix the issue with Text tool lag and the shortcut (T) key not working and switching back to the previous tool after a delay. But none of that was fixed in 15.03. Instead all my packaged fonts stopped working. See attached AdobeFnt.lst files, the #22 .lst doesn't include the Helvetica fonts. Not sure what's going on here, Adobe trying to force users to rent fonts from cloud?

Hey Adobe, can we get an update, same issues, same fonts, same workflow interruptions. Lifelong user here, this not like you all.

It is still broken. Per Herman below, explains exactly my issue - "Still happening for me with InDesign 15.0.3 and macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Lots of time wasted everyday opening and reopening files hoping the fonts will stick"

I am on macOS Catalina version 10.15.4. I am on InDesign version 15.03 - the missing font issue is still bugging me and slowing down production severely. It's worse when I re-open a job I completed a month ago. The fonts are not only on my system, they are also packaged (collected) by InDesign in a folder and backed up on an external hard disk for safekeeping.

I just updated and it's not fixed. On a major deadline today with several documents and I'm opening and closing every document 5-6 times just to get the fonts to stick. ugh.

Got a status update that said it has been fixed, I am on the most recent version and it is not fixed. It has gotten "better" in that half the time I open the document it recognizes it the other half it doesn't where before I had to restart my computer and the first time I would open the document it would be fine but any time after that it would not work until I restarted again.

It is not fixed!!!
Still the same problems and sorry to say, we pay a lot of money every month for that...and it slows down our whole working process and costs us time and money.@Adobe: I want a refund on our CC subscription and a definite date, when this issue is resolved.

Not fixed in 15.0.3!
When I open an InDesign file font are missing.
I have to close and start again InDesign so it work. Every time I have to open twice. Really annoying!

Boo to Adobe!
This is a super important fix, which we've waited for since 15.0.2 and it's still messed up.
It should've been one of the top priorities of the 15.0.3 update.

Nope. Not fixed. Still cannot get Helvetica to work. It's system font.
Doing the same damn thing. I closed out InDesign Completely. I reopen it. Reopen my document. Helvetica connects. I save out a PDF and as soon as it's done saving, the fonts go missing.
It knows the font is there but just randomly decides whether or not it's going to work.
I also tired activating in my font management system and no dice. This same font works in every other non-adobe product.
This is just so frustrating. I had problems with Helvetica before, but it has gotten worse since I upgraded my OS. So I'm sure Apple can take some of the blame too.

Looks like it might be fixed in 15.0.3 after all.

Further analysis
I wanted to check if the InDesign 15.0.3 version accepted the Helvetica Neue font and for that I started from my document since version 15.0.1, from which I copied all the texts in Word and then deleted them, the final document containing only the pictures. By reloading version 15.0.3, I opened this new blank document and then I gradually edited my texts on about ten pages, taking them from the Word version and formatting them under Helvetica Neue. At the beginning everything seems correct. I turned off my Mac on Sunday evening and turned it back on the next morning to see that the problem is still there...
