CC 2020 + Catalina makes computer really slow
On a brand new iMac (Catalina), opening CC 2020 apps makes everything lag. When Adobe apps are not open, computer performance is fine. According to the Adobe Support Community, this issue seems pretty widespread and Adobe's suggested fixes do not help.
Based on our investigations after communicating with users, we’ve come to the conclusion that this issue is not related to OS 10.15.x

Same here:
New MacBook Pro 2019 and the performance is pure. It’s like 24 frames instead of 60.
I tried also an eGPU but same thing.
I deleted the InDesign cache and preferences but nothing. Also a reinstall doesn’t work for me.Photoshop and Illustrator working fast and smooth.
Maybe InDesign has to be rewritten cause the code is too old. I don’t know. It’s frustrating …

inDesign AND Acrobat DC will not open! They were both working with no issues until 11:00 last night. Today, I just get the 'wheel of death'. Acrobat opens and then says "not responding" so I have to force quit. InDesign looks like it's opening - the dock icon starts bouncing like it always does, then nothing. Also the "not responding" message.
I have no clue why they both suddenly won't open, but I can't be without them and need to figure it out! As suggested in an Adobe Community post by Srishti Bali, I went back to inDesign 15.0.1 and did a restart, but had the same result.

InDesign CC 15.0.2 is practically unusable, I share that remark. It's maddening. No matter what I do, it freezes. Sometimes I'm lucky and can work for 15 minutes. But then, anything I do provokes the app not to respond.
At the beginning, it freezes for a couple of seconds, works for a few seconds, and freezes again (rainbow button). And it happens with all InDesign files, not just one. I've reinstalled it, removed preferences, installed an earlier version instead (14.0), restarted the MacBook Pro several times, nada.
All other CC apps work perfectly well, as Office and other programmes. This started, I think, when I updated to OS Catalina 10.15.3. My MBP: 13-inch, 2,7 GHz, Quad-Core Intel Core i7.
Please help. I work with InDesign and it's becoming impossible to meet deadlines, let alone accept new jobs.

Is this problem already solved?

Indesign is practically unusable. Get the beach ball just by clicking on an empty page in an empty document despite trashing preferences. Clearly a problem that is not being addressed. And I get to pay £50 a month for this. Thanks Adobe and please stop sending pop ups asking me to rate you!!!!

Indesign running very slow on my brand new iMac (Catalina). Much slower than my tower from 2008 on which I only could run Indesign CS6. Every time I move an item, click on a text frame etc. So disappointed ... Hope it will be fixed soon.

For me it's all about 4K monitors. Photoshop is fine but most other suite apps are jerky and sluggish. Affinity apps, however, sings.

Agreed. Adobe Suite is not performing well on new iMac. Runs as fast or faster on my 12 year old tower.
